Embracing a myriad of shocking emotions, she plummeted once more into the darkness, her mind swirling with questions. The Reincarnation Stone had already been activated upon entering the Underworld, appearing beside her as they both fell deeper into the abyss.
Yun Zhi Yue tentatively asked, "Little Stone, you said you can't feel the Master, but you are his Soul Artifact. If you haven't disappeared, then he must still be alive. What could be happening?"
The child holding Yun Zhi Yue's hand sighed in despair, "If the Master isn't currently in the process of merging with the Underworld, then he must have abandoned his position as the King of Hell. He no longer wants the Underworld or me."
Yun Zhi Yue furrowed her brows. "Explain that more clearly."
"Isn't it obvious? You really are foolish. The Master was born from the Underworld and came to the Imperial Realm to rule over everything here; he is a part of the Underworld itself, and they are closely intertwined. To protect the Underworld, he absorbed countless years of Yin Yuan energy into himself. Even so, he remained incredibly powerful—he was the most outstanding among all past kings. Yet, despite this, the Underworld still chose to abandon him."
"Why?" Yun Zhi Yue pressed.
"Because he possessed too much Yin Yuan energy. They feared it would threaten their own existence. The Underworld wanted to transform him, which would mean shattering his soul. The Master refused; he didn't want to comply with this absurd fate dictated by heaven and earth."
Yun Zhi Yue's eyes flickered with concern. "What happened afterward?"
The Reincarnation Stone replied curtly, "It's not easy to go against the will of heaven and earth. His soul shattered, but I always felt that it wasn't unexpected; it was just too painful a break. I firmly believe that he hasn't truly perished; he's looking for someone to collect his soul fragments. Initially, we worked perfectly together, but after returning from that apocalyptic world, I suddenly realized that all the Soul Fragments we had gathered before had vanished."
"I could only stay by Song Huai's side. He insisted on searching for you in the Heavenly Realm, but I completely disagreed. He insisted on going alone and ended up missing—Yun Zhi Yue, you have to believe me; Song Huai is lost in Wujie."
Yun Zhi Yue fell silent as the Reincarnation Stone continued, "If the Master truly abandoned everything in the Underworld, it must have been in pursuit of something greater. He wants to break through to the Imperial Realm and free himself from the constraints of heaven and earth. One day, he will return."
"But the Underworld can't just descend into chaos like this! The Master has poured countless efforts into it; I won't let it be destroyed so easily. If they betray him, then I will make them bow down and recognize who their true master is!"
Yun Zhi Yue nodded in agreement. "What a bold spirit! No wonder you're the Underworld King Soul Artifact, Lord Reincarnation Stone. Rest assured, now that I'm back, I will definitely take control of the Underworld."
"If your Master doesn't care for the position of King of Hell, then I do! I'm willing to be bound by heaven and earth—bring it on! Let them all come and bind me!"
The Reincarnation Stone twitched its cheek as it watched Yun Zhi Yue descend with such arrogance. Was she getting carried away? Did she really think she could act so brazenly in her current situation? An Imperial Realm alone couldn't grant her such confidence.
Unlike when she was previously cast down from the Heavenly Realm to the Underworld, this time Yun Zhi Yue spread her arms wide as she fell, fully unleashing her Imperial Realm's pressure. As she descended, everyone within the Underworld looked up simultaneously into the depths of darkness.
Only Yan Luo remained among the Ten Halls of Yama; they all soared upwards to gaze at two figures—one tall and one short—appearing before everyone’s eyes.
In Yun Zhi Yue's imagination, as an Imperial Realm being, she should be able to act however she pleased; everyone would have to show deference to her and inheriting the throne would be simple.
However, standing above the Ten Halls of Yama and witnessing a row of Imperial Realm beings alongside Yan Luo made her nearly crush the small hand of the Reincarnation Stone in frustration.
Why hadn't this damned stone mentioned that there were so many Imperial Realm beings? If she had known earlier, she wouldn't have chosen to return at this moment!
She had intended to show off, but now she had become the laughingstock, infuriating her.
At this moment, the Reincarnation Stone had lost its childishness, its expression cold and stern: "How dare you! Why do you not pay your respects upon seeing Ming Hou?"
Yun Zhi Yue retorted, "She wants to be the King of Hell, not Ming Hou!"
The Ten Halls of Yama originally had ten Yan Luo, but with Song Huaiqian's death, Nine Halls Yama was gone, and Li Shang had taken out a Dian Yanluo. Now there were only seven or eight left—five men and three women.
They were all covered in Di Wei. This Jian Li Pu was not on par with these Yan Luo, but their Di Wei was weak; at least compared to any Emperor from the Heavenly Realm, they were inferior.
It should be that the Reincarnation Stone had mentioned something about great misfortune. Could it be that these people were her enemies to deal with?
She was also a Pseudo-Emperor Realm; no one should mock anyone else. Shouldn't she make a strategic retreat when facing eight opponents?
