"Let’s go down quickly," the Little Maid whispered.
The Young Master came to his senses and glanced curiously at Qin Feng before heading down.
The two found a table to sit at. Zhang Gui, noticing them, couldn't help but size them up; they must be human, right? He couldn't help but feel suspicious, and not wanting to take any chances, he immediately instructed the waiter to prepare food for the two.
The tables were quite far apart, and they ate in silence.
Zhang Gui stood at the counter, glancing at Qin Feng and then at the other side, feeling increasingly anxious.
Suddenly, a surprised voice came from the entrance. "Oh, you’re here?"
Everyone's gaze turned toward the door.
Zhu Fang's expression changed instantly; it was Zhenbei Wangfu Zi. Especially when he saw the few people standing behind him, he hurriedly lowered his head, fearing recognition.
The Young Master’s face also changed as he slammed his chopsticks onto the table. "What do you want? I've already said I have a betrothal; stop bothering me."
Qin Feng's eyes flickered. Did he come now because of the commotion from handling those bodies?
A cold glint flashed in his eyes before he smiled confidently. "Nie Miss, tell me who your betrothed is; I’ll handle it."
Nie Xiaoqian's face flushed with anger. "Hmph! What do you want? Don’t think I don’t know; even without a betrothal, I wouldn’t marry you. Just give up on that idea."
Qin Feng raised an eyebrow. Was her temperament this fierce?
Zhu Fang trembled all over and suddenly looked at Qin Feng. "Brother Qin, what a coincidence! The surname Nie? And there’s a betrothal?"
Qin Wan'er was taken aback for a moment before quickly reacting and turning to look at her brother and sister-in-law.
Qin Feng couldn't help but rub his forehead and chuckled bitterly. "I don’t know either; let’s just wait and see."
Qin Wan'er was now intrigued, her gaze fixed intensely on Nie Xiaoqian.
Meanwhile, the standoff continued. The man's expression grew serious as he scanned the inn, realizing it was just Qin Feng and his companions present, revealing a look of disdain in his eyes.
Then he turned his gaze back to Nie Xiaoqian. "Come with me; don’t worry, I’ll make you a princess."
Nie Xiaoqian's expression darkened, and she involuntarily glanced at Qin Feng and the others.
Suddenly, someone behind her stepped forward and whispered something to her. Her expression shifted slightly as she turned her gaze toward Qin Feng and the others, revealing a hint of amusement.
"Are you the ones who offended me?" she narrowed her eyes at Qin Feng and his companions.
Zhu Fang's face changed, realizing they could no longer hide their true identities. He raised his head to meet her gaze. "We are already Jinshi now; even if you are a noble, what can you do?" Zhu Fang remained defiant.
Qin Feng shot a glance at Zhu Fang before looking back at her, narrowing his eyes but saying nothing.
"Heh, Jinshi? Have you forgotten where this is? This is Guobei County, the territory of the Black Mountain Old Demon. Even if I were to kill you, what would it matter?" she sneered.
Recalling how she had been humiliated and driven out of Qingshan Mansion, her heart burned with anger, and at that moment, Qin Feng and his companions became the perfect targets for her frustration.
Zhu Fang's expression changed again as he sensed the danger looming over them. He glanced at Qin Feng, who remained calm, and he couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.
