In the morning of the manor, sunlight streamed through the window and illuminated Emily's desk, making the yellowed magic tome shine. Emily sat at her desk, her brow furrowed, seemingly lost in deep thought. Although they had won last night's battle, the power of that evil sorcerer left her feeling uneasy. She knew they still had a long way to go.
"Emily, you look a bit tired," Jason said as he walked into the study, concern evident in his voice.
Emily looked up at Jason, a hint of fatigue flashing in her eyes before she steeled herself. "I'm just thinking about last night's battle. That sorcerer's power is far more complex than we previously imagined."
Jason nodded in agreement. "Yes, his power is indeed strong. But we are not without a chance. As long as we stand united, nothing can stop us."
Emily smiled gratefully and glanced at Jason. "You're right. We can't be defeated by difficulties. By the way, did you notice the magic the wizard used in the battle?"
Jason thought back to the battle last night and shook his head. "I didn't pay particular attention. His magic attacks came too fast, I hardly had time to observe."
Emily pondered for a moment, then said, "I noticed that the magic he's using seems to resemble a kind of ancient magic recorded in ancient texts. But that kind of magic has been lost for a long time, and I don't know where he got it from."
"Lost magic?" Jason asked in surprise, "Isn't that very dangerous?"
Emily nodded. "Yes, very dangerous. If that sorcerer really has mastered that kind of magic, then our situation will become even more difficult."
Two people fell into silence, both thinking about how to face the upcoming challenge. Just then, Edward walked into the study.
"Emily, Jason, what are you talking about?" Edward asked.
Emily and Jason glanced at each other, then told Edward about the battle last night and the magic used by the sorcerer.
Edward frowned after listening. "This is indeed a big problem. We must find a solution as soon as possible."
"Yes," Emily agreed, "I think we should delve into that ancient book again and see if we can find more information about that kind of magic."
Edward nodded. "Alright, let's get started then."
Three people sat in front of the desk, beginning to peruse the ancient text. Time passed by second by second, and they gradually became immersed in the world of the ancient text. However, just as they were about to find clues about that kind of magic, Emily suddenly felt a severe headache. She held her head, groaning in pain.
Jason and Edward immediately put down the ancient texts and asked with concern, " Emily, what's wrong?"
Emily shook her head, trying to ease the headache. "It's nothing, just suddenly feeling a bit of a headache. Maybe the battle last night left me a bit weary."
However, her headache did not ease with rest, but instead became more intense. She felt her consciousness starting to blur, as if something was pulling at her memory.
"Something's not right," Edward suddenly said. "Emily looks like she's in a lot of pain. Her headache might not be just from fatigue."
Jason also realized the seriousness of the situation. "So what should we do?"
Edward pondered for a moment, then said, "Let's help Emily to rest first. Then I will go find the doctor in the manor to take a look."
The two carefully helped Emily back to her room and let her lie down to rest. Then Edward immediately went to find the doctor in the manor.
The doctor quickly arrived at Emily's room and conducted a thorough examination of Emily. However, he did not find any abnormal conditions. Emily's headache seemed to not be caused by any physical illness.
"This is very strange," the doctor said, frowning. "There doesn't seem to be anything wrong with Emily's body. Yet her headaches are so severe. It could be because her mind has been subjected to some kind of stimulus."
"Mind stimulus?" Jason asked, puzzled.
The doctor nodded. "Yes. Sometimes, when our minds are subjected to strong stimuli, it can lead to physical reactions. Such as headaches, insomnia, and so on. Emily's headaches may be due to her mind being subjected to some kind of strong stimulus."
"How should we handle this?" Edward asked anxiously.
The doctor pondered for a moment and then said, "I suggest letting Emily rest for a while. At the same time, we can try to find some methods to relieve mental stress, such as meditation, yoga, and so on."
After discussing, the three of them decided to let Emily rest for a day and also to look for ways to help relieve her mental stress.
Night fell, and the manor once again fell into silence. Emily lay in bed, closing her eyes. Her headache had eased considerably, but her mind was filled with doubt. She didn't know why she suddenly felt the headache, nor did she know if her memories held any important clues. She decided to continue delving into the ancient book tomorrow, hoping to find more information about that kind of magic and the cause of her headache.
