As the night gradually faded, the morning light cast a serene yet mysterious glow over the buildings of the Special Zone. However, in the shadows, members of the Anti-Special Zone Alliance were methodically gearing up to unveil long-hidden truths to the public.
Chen Rui and Erin sat quietly in a concealed monitoring room, their eyes fixed on the flowing information displayed on the screens. The screens showed the progress of various teams within the Alliance, scattered across different Areas of the Special Zone, maintaining radio silence to avoid detection by the Old Forces. The entire operation was codenamed "Dawn," symbolizing the clearing of the shadows over the Special Zone and the arrival of hope.
Zhao Yunshan stood beside them, his expression serious. He spread out a detailed map of the Special Zone on the table and pointed to several key strongholds. "Our target is the core of the Old Intelligence Network. If we can destroy these strongholds, we can cut off their source of information and prevent them from controlling the situation for a significant time."
Chen Rui nodded, glancing at the marked locations on the map, a flicker of tension crossing his mind. The success or failure of this operation was not only tied to the survival of their Alliance but also affected countless ordinary lives. Erin stood beside him, her fists clenched, her gaze filled with determination and unyielding spirit.
"The first team is ready," came a low voice from the walkie-talkie, indicating that the Alliance's action teams were standing by at their respective positions.
Zhao Yunshan slowly nodded, taking a deep breath before decisively stating, "Commence action! Dawn Project Phase One, target: Information Center."
In an instant, several key locations within the Special Zone erupted into chaos. Alliance team members swiftly launched their assaults on the Old Communication Center, Information Station, and several Armed Strongholds. The battle quietly ignited in the still morning air; sporadic gunfire echoed through the streets of the Special Zone, quickly swallowed by the wind.
Chen Rui and Erin's mission was to monitor the progress of these operations, ensuring that each team completed their tasks successfully while providing information support when necessary. As they watched the constantly changing data streams on the screens, both felt their heartbeats quicken in response to the suffocating tension in the air.
"The Information Station has been destroyed; target accomplished," came a low report over the walkie-talkie. Chen Rui quickly marked this stronghold off on the map. The Alliance's actions were decisive and powerful; they were steadily achieving their Phase One objectives.
However, just as they celebrated this initial victory, the Old Forces began to react swiftly. Military police within the Special Zone were mobilized rapidly, with armed special teams appearing at several key intersections in an attempt to intercept Alliance members.
"They're responding faster than we anticipated," Erin said softly, a hint of worry flashing in her eyes.
Zhao Yunshan frowned and replied gravely, "The Old Forces are not simple enemies. Having reached this position today, they must have already laid down a tight defense. What we face next will be their true power."
At that moment, another urgent call came through on the walkie-talkie from another team: "Command Center, this is Team Three. We’ve encountered enemy reinforcements in the southeast; they are numerous and request assistance!"
Chen Rui quickly pinpointed Team Three's location and realized they were trapped near a high-rise building. Enemies surrounded them from all sides with heavy firepower; there was nowhere for them to escape.
"Team One," Zhao Yunshan ordered decisively, "immediately proceed to provide support; do everything you can to cover Team Three's retreat!"
Minutes later, Team One arrived at the scene as shown on screen, and both sides engaged in fierce gunfire. The sounds of gunshots and explosions reverberated through the morning streets as if war had enveloped the entire Special Zone.
Chen Rui and Erin held their breath, focusing on every detail. Even though they were not on the front lines, every sacrifice and every peril tugged at their hearts. At this moment, Alliance members were fighting not only against tyranny but also for the Special Zone itself and for those innocent lives caught in between.
The battle raged for nearly half an hour until Team Three finally managed to retreat under Team One's cover. Zhao Yunshan exhaled deeply but knew this was just the beginning. The Old Forces' counterattack was more rapid than expected, significantly increasing risks for their entire operation.
The Alliance members understood well how dangerous this mission was, yet none wavered. Each person knew this was not merely a battle; it was a decisive confrontation that would determine the fate of the Special Zone itself.
