Chen Rui shook his head. You Ying's contact information had always been kept secret, and he knew what we were after. If it truly was a trap, we would act accordingly when the time came.
That night, Chen Rui and Erin disguised themselves and quietly made their way to an underground bar in the eastern district of the Special Zone. The bar was dimly lit and noisy, with colorful lights flashing, masking the traces of various schemes and conspiracies.
They found a table in the corner and sat down, waiting for You Ying to appear. After a moment, a man dressed in a black trench coat and wearing a hood quietly took a seat across from them and said softly, "I have prepared the information you need."
Erin cautiously asked, "Are you You Ying?"
The man smiled slightly but did not answer directly. Instead, he pulled out a small electronic storage device from his pocket and placed it on the table. Inside were some of the most secretive pieces of evidence regarding crimes, including how he manipulated the intelligence system and orchestrated assassinations against rivals.
Chen Rui took the storage device and whispered, "This evidence should be enough to awaken the entire Special Zone, right?"
You Ying nodded and replied coldly, "These are his most hidden crimes. If you can make this public, the foundation of Old will be shaken."
A glimmer of joy flashed in Erin's eyes. "This is amazing! With this, we can expose the truth to everyone."
Just then, commotion erupted at the entrance of the bar as a team of armed personnel swiftly surrounded it, clearly coming for them. You Ying's expression changed, and he said urgently, "We need to go! They've found me!"
Chen Rui and Erin quickly stood up and followed You Ying as he led them out through the back door of the bar, navigating through narrow alleys. Behind them, their pursuers were relentless, bullets whizzing past their ears. You Ying guided them left and right through the dimly lit passages, but the number of enemies was increasing, tightening their encirclement.
As they reached a dead end ahead, You Ying suddenly shoved a card into Chen Rui's hand and said urgently, "The underground passage ahead leads directly to our base. Take the data and go; I’ll hold them off!"
Chen Rui frowned. "No way! You have to come with us!"
But You Ying shook his head decisively. "I can't expose myself. If I stay within Old's ranks, I can continue to serve the alliance. You must leave now; don’t waste any time!"
With that, You Ying turned and charged towards their pursuers to draw their fire. Chen Rui and Erin exchanged a tearful glance before quickly entering the passageway as directed by You Ying.
A few hours later, they safely reached the alliance's base and plugged in the storage device that You Ying had brought back. The screen immediately displayed evidence against Old: illegal detention, assassinations, oppression—all dark secrets came to light.
Zhao Yunshan looked at the evidence with eyes full of anger and relief. "We finally have enough evidence! Once we make this public, Old's rule will be in jeopardy."
Chen Rui clenched his fists, filled with excitement. They knew that this evidence would become a sword to awaken the people of the Special Zone and mark the beginning of Old Regime’s end.
"Next, we need everyone in Special Zone to know these truths," Erin said firmly. "This is our opportunity and hope for our people!"
Zhao Yunshan nodded and immediately ordered, "Arrange for personnel to disseminate this evidence through all possible channels. Mobilize every resource we can contact so that everyone in Special Zone understands that Old is their true enemy!"
With the order given, members of the alliance sprang into action, transforming this shocking evidence into various forms of propaganda materials that began spreading throughout the streets of Special Zone—in public places and even online.
Under cover of darkness, the truth spread like wildfire, gradually igniting hope and sparks of resistance in the hearts of the people in Special Zone.
