The moonlight cast dappled shadows through the jungle, and the night breeze carried a slight chill. Chen Rui, Lin Xi, and Zhou Zheng moved with hurried, disordered steps, using the cover of the jungle to quickly navigate through the dense foliage, striving to stay out of the Mechanical Warrior's tracking range. 0

"Faster, just hold on a little longer!" Lin Xi urged from behind, her voice low but tinged with urgency. 0

"I know! But how are these things doing this?" Zhou Zheng gasped, his face pale. "Even smoke grenades can't stop them! Is their tracking system cheating?" 0

"They might be locking onto us through heat sensors or other technologies," Chen Rui analyzed as he ran, weapon in hand, vigilant for any movement behind them. "Or they could have backup plans. Let's not waste time guessing; finding a support point is key." 0

The terrain ahead began to steepen. Chen Rui led the two up a small hill, overlooking the area below. He noticed that at the bottom lay a narrow valley, surrounded by dense trees—seemingly a good hiding spot. 0

"This might buy us some time," Chen Rui pointed towards the valley. "Let’s go down and use the terrain to shield ourselves." 0

The three of them scrambled down the slope. As they entered the valley, a low rumble echoed from behind them. The sound grew louder, shaking the fallen leaves on the ground. 0

"They're catching up!" Lin Xi whispered, quickly switching her weapon to assault mode and aiming behind her. 0

Moments later, two Mechanical Warriors burst from the jungle, their blue sensors flickering ominously in the darkness. They skillfully maneuvered around trees, rapidly closing in on the trio while emitting chilling metallic scraping sounds. 0

"Don't they ever get tired?" Zhou Zheng gripped his gun tightly, feeling a terrifying sense of relentless pursuit. 0

"They are hunters, and we are their prey," Chen Rui said coldly. "If we want to survive, we must fight back!" 0

Lin Xi glanced around and pointed at a cliff across the valley. "There’s natural cover over there; it could help us temporarily shake off their line of sight." 0

Chen Rui nodded. "Alright, let’s split up and disrupt their tracking systems!" 0

The three quickly scattered, each running in different directions in an attempt to confuse the Mechanical Warriors' tracking mode. However, those two Mechanical Warriors were evidently designed with precision; one adjusted its trajectory toward Lin Xi while the other headed straight for Chen Rui. 0

Lin Xi sprinted ahead with the Mechanical Warrior hot on her heels. She spotted a large tree lying across her path and had an idea; she swiftly rolled behind it just as the Mechanical Warrior leaped over the fallen trunk. In that instant, Lin Xi pulled a grenade from her belt and hurled it at the Mechanical Warrior's head. 0

Boom! A deafening explosion lit up the forest as flames erupted. The Mechanical Warrior staggered but quickly rebooted; it seemed unharmed by what should have been a fatal blow. 0

"These things are impossible to kill!" Lin Xi cursed under her breath as she continued retreating toward the cliff. 0

Meanwhile, Chen Rui navigated swiftly through the valley, using rocks on either side for cover. He occasionally turned back to fire at the pursuing Mechanical Warrior in an attempt to slow it down. However, its agility was astonishing; it climbed over rocks with near-beastlike speed, giving Chen Rui little chance to breathe. 0

"How is it doing this?" Chen Rui muttered angrily while brainstorming strategies. He noticed a massive boulder on one side of the valley that seemed precariously held by only a few vines. 0

"Maybe this will surprise it," he thought as he quickly adjusted his position to lure the Mechanical Warrior closer to that boulder. 0

When it was within optimal range, Chen Rui suddenly fired his weapon, accurately severing the vines. The boulder lost its support and crashed down directly onto the Mechanical Warrior, burying half of it under rubble. 0

"Nice shot!" Chen Rui said coldly before turning to make his escape. 0

At that moment, Zhou Zheng found himself in even greater peril. He had attracted the attention of a third Mechanical Warrior but was clearly not as agile as Lin Xi or Chen Rui. He ducked into a thicket, attempting to use the terrain to confuse his enemy. However, rather than charging in recklessly, this Mechanical Warrior halted and began scanning its surroundings with its head sensors. 0

"Damn it, it's locking onto me," Zhou Zheng whispered, his forehead slick with cold sweat. 0

Just as he prepared to move, the Mechanical Warrior suddenly raised its arm and fired a small missile. The missile struck the bushes where Zhou Zheng was hiding with pinpoint accuracy, the explosion sending a shockwave that knocked him to the ground, crashing him hard against a tree. 0

"Ah!" Zhou Zheng cried out in pain, trying to stand but realizing his left leg was completely immobilized. The Mechanical Warrior slowly approached, its blade glinting coldly in the night. Just when Zhou Zheng thought he was doomed, a brilliant beam of light descended from the sky, striking the Mechanical Warrior's head and destroying it instantly. 0

Zhou Zheng blinked in surprise and looked up to see an armed Rising Machine hovering in the night sky. The cabin door opened, and Director Zhao's voice came through the loudspeaker: "Hold on, we're here!" 0

The support from the Rising Machine turned the tide of the situation in an instant. Lin Xi and Chen Rui quickly joined forces with the support team, while the remaining two Mechanical Warriors were completely obliterated under overwhelming firepower. 0

A few minutes later, the Rising Machine successfully extracted the three of them. 0

"How are you all?" Director Zhao scanned the trio quickly, concern evident in his tone. 0

"We're fine for now," Chen Rui nodded but then added coldly, "These Mechanical Warriors are far beyond our expectations; the dark stream technology has clearly reached a dangerous level." 0

Director Zhao's brow furrowed tightly. "These warriors are just the tip of the iceberg. I've received intel that the dark stream has a larger plan. We need to act quickly; otherwise, it will be too late." 0

Lin Xi wiped sweat from his face and asked quietly, "A larger plan? What do you mean?" 0

Director Zhao did not answer directly but said solemnly, "Let's return to base; I'll explain everything there." 0

As the Rising Machine flew further away, only faint starlight remained in the night sky. Below in the dense forest, amidst a pile of rubble, one of the Mechanical Warrior's arms twitched slightly as blue light flickered back to life. 0
