Thick fog enveloped the ruins, and a low wind howled through the desolate city. Lin Xi and her team pressed forward, navigating through the abandoned streets until they finally arrived at the center of a vast plaza. Here, the fog dissipated, revealing only the stark moonlight that illuminated ancient runes etched into the ground. 0

In the center of the plaza stood a massive black Crystal Tower, its peak radiating a blinding red light—the location of the Abyssal Eye. This was its core. Lin Xi fixed her gaze on the top of the tower, her determination unwavering. 0

"Leader Lin, what’s the plan now?" Chen Rui asked in a hushed voice, his weapon ready in hand. 0

"Destroy it," Lin Xi replied calmly and resolutely. "If this is the source of the Abyssal power, we must obliterate it to end all of this." 0

"But we don’t even know what will happen afterward," Wang Ya said, furrowing his brow with a hint of hesitation in his eyes. 0

"After?" Lin Xi scoffed. "Do you think we have any way out? From the moment we stepped foot here, we’ve had no retreat." 0

The team fell silent for a moment before nodding in agreement. 0

"Let’s go; this is our final battle." Lin Xi took the lead and ascended the steps toward the Crystal Tower. 0

Inside the Crystal Tower, a chilling air filled with an intense sense of oppression surrounded them. Each floor seemed to repeat the same scene: black walls embedded with reliefs resembling human faces, their mouths opening and closing as if silently screaming. 0

"Are these souls that have been devoured?" Zhou Zheng stared at the reliefs, his voice trembling slightly. 0

"Perhaps they are victims of the Abyss," Lin Xi said without pausing, her eyes fixed on the exit at the top of the tower. 0

Finally, they reached the summit. In the center of a vast platform stood a ten-meter tall shadow that constantly shifted in form, its crimson eyes flickering at its core as if capable of seeing through everything. 0

"You have finally arrived," the shadow spoke in a deep, cold voice that resonated in everyone’s minds. "This is the cycle of fate; no matter what you do, you will never escape here." 0

"The cycle of fate?" Lin Xi raised her weapon and scoffed. "We intend to break it!" 0

"Foolish." The shadow slowly raised its hand, unleashing a powerful wave of energy that surged toward them all. 0

"Scatter!" Lin Xi shouted as everyone quickly dispersed, engaging in a desperate battle against the shadow. 0

In the heat of combat, the shadow's power became increasingly apparent. It could not only manipulate its surroundings but also fully recover from damage in an instant. The team's attacks seemed ineffective against it. 0

"Leader Lin! It has no physical form; ordinary attacks can’t harm it!" Chen Rui exclaimed anxiously. 0

"Its power comes from the Crystal Tower itself," Lin Xi observed sharply, making a quick judgment. "We need to destroy its base to cut off its energy source!" 0

"But how can we destroy such a massive structure?" Wang Ya asked. 0

Lin Xi didn’t answer but instead retrieved an item from her backpack—the Small Crystal Ball she had obtained earlier at the Abyss entrance. At that moment, it emitted a faint glow. 0

"This might be the key," Lin Xi took a deep breath and raised the crystal ball high before bringing it down forcefully onto the center of the tower's base. 0

As the Small Crystal Ball touched the ground, a dazzling light surged from it, rapidly spreading throughout the Crystal Tower. 0

"What happened?!" Zhou Zheng shouted. 0

"Get back!" Lin Xi commanded loudly, pulling her team members to retreat quickly. 0

The Crystal Tower began to collapse, and the shadowy figure became increasingly unstable. It let out an angry roar, attempting to charge at Lin Xi, but was blocked by the radiant light. 0

"You mortals cannot comprehend what you have unleashed!" The voice of the shadow grew intermittent before finally fading into the swirling dust. 0

The entire Crystal Tower crashed down with a thunderous sound, and a powerful suction force emerged from the ruins, pulling Lin Xi and her team into a void. 0

When Lin Xi awoke, she found herself lying on familiar grass. Sunlight filtered through the leaves onto her face, and the sound of birds chirping filled her ears. 0

"Leader Lin!" Wang Ya's voice called out. She looked up to see her team members standing beside her, all unharmed. 0

"Have we made it?" Chen Rui asked in disbelief as he surveyed their surroundings. 0

Lin Xi stood up and looked around; they were in the same place they had been before entering the abyss. She glanced down at the Small Crystal Ball in her hand and noticed it had lost its glow, now resembling an ordinary stone. 0

"It seems everything has come to an end," Lin Xi said softly. 0

However, Zhou Zheng hesitated. "Have we truly escaped it?" 0

Lin Xi did not respond. She turned to gaze into the distance, as if pondering something deeply. 0

Days later, the team arrived at their base and submitted their mission report. Yet, an indescribable sense of unease lingered within Lin Xi. 0

One deep night, she stood by the window of the base, staring at the pitch-black sky. Suddenly, she thought she heard a low voice whispering in her ear. 0

"The cycle is just beginning." 0

Lin Xi spun around abruptly but saw nothing. Taking a deep breath, her expression turned cold and resolute. 0

"If it’s not over yet, then bring it on." 0

Everything returned to calmness, yet within this dark void, the story drew a cyclical conclusion. 0
