Tomorrow marks the start of the new school year, and the school has requested that all teachers attend a meeting. As the homeroom teacher, there are additional preparations that need to be made.
"Good morning, Teacher Yu!" When Sang Yu arrived at the office, only Yu Guoguo was there.
"Hey! Our Teacher Sang is here!"
"Here, Aunt Chen made you some sausages." Sang Yu handed the homemade sausages she brought from home to Yu Guoguo.
Everyone in Sang Yu's family loves sausages, so every time it's the right season, Sang's monther makes a lot of them. The last time they had lunch together at school, Yu Guoguo tried Sang's monther's sausages and instantly fell in love with them.
As Sang Yu's best friend, Lin Yue also enjoys eating the sausages made by Sang's monther. Previously, Sang's monther would make some for Lin Yue as well, but since they lived in an apartment, she didn't make them often.
Now that Sang Yu's family has moved into a villa with a yard, she specifically asked Sang's monther to buy over ten pounds of pork. Consequently, Sang's monther bought ten pounds of pork to make sausages. The whole family spent two days preparing them, and for several days after that, the small yard of their villa was filled with sausages hanging out to dry. If one didn't know better, they might think Sang Yu's family was planning to sell them!
Although it looked like a lot, once divided up, there wasn't much left. They took ten pounds back to give to Sang Yu's grandparents and Uncle San's family. They kept ten pounds for themselves and gave another ten pounds to their grandmother. The remaining ten pounds were intended for Lin Yue and Yu Guoguo. So this time when she came back from home, she brought a big bag full of sausages.
Along with other items, she could hardly carry it all herself. Luckily, Lu Jingzhi came to pick her up; otherwise, she would have had to trouble her father to drive her.
"Wow! Sang Sang, you’re amazing! I love you so much!" Yu Guoguo squealed as she hugged Sang Yu tightly and planted several kisses on her cheek. She had been craving these sausages for quite some time.
Sang Yu wiped her face in disdain and said, "Stop! Take your sausages and stand a little farther away from me." Having a woman's saliva all over her face felt so awkward.
"Hehehe, then I won't be polite!" Yu Guoguo grinned as she placed the bag of sausages under the table, planning to take them home after work.
Actually, not long ago, Yu Guoguo had offered to give Sang Yu some money for the sausages, but Sang Yu refused. They were good friends; how could she accept money for something so trivial?
"You could at least be polite about it," Sang Yu joked.
"Hehe, I don't think it's necessary. I can't let Aunt Chen's kindness go to waste. Oh, if only Aunt Chen were my mom!" Her own mother was a disaster in the kitchen, and her father wasn't much better either. So growing up, she either ate at the cafeteria or bought food outside. It only got better when they hired a housekeeper later on.
She wondered if she had inherited her parents' lack of cooking skills because her cooking wasn't any better than her mother's. She really wanted to learn how to cook well; however, every time she got inspired and tried to learn from Aunt Wang, the housekeeper would take a day off.
At first, she thought Aunt Wang had personal matters to attend to at home. It wasn't until every time she wanted to learn something Aunt Wang had an excuse that she began to realize Aunt Wang wasn't genuinely busy but simply didn't want to teach her.
She really wanted to say: "Is it necessary? You could just tell me directly! It's not like I almost blew up the kitchen twice or anything."
Aunt Wang: "I wanted to explain things clearly to you! But you have to listen too! You put all your persistence into bothering me; I don't know how you have such confidence in yourself believing you'll make delicious meals. To save my own life, I can only keep taking days off!"
Yu Guoguo: "Uh... that's quite an awkward situation."
So when she learned that Sang Yu's mother was an expert in the kitchen, she couldn't help but feel envious beyond measure.
