Ding Yan stood in a daze, staring at Jiang Chen.
"Mr. Jiang, Ye Ming said you are a deity. Are you really a deity?" Ding Yan suddenly asked.
"Do you know what I appreciate about you?" Jiang Chen replied.
Ding Yan shook her head.
"Killers are mostly silent and shouldn't be too curious. The doubts in your heart will be resolved in the future. For now, bury your questions deep inside," Jiang Chen said. "Also, don’t call me Mr. Jiang anymore; just call me Young Master."
"Alright, Young Master. Since you allow me to follow you, can I become your disciple?" Ding Yan asked.
"We'll talk about accepting disciples later. After this trip to Hong Kong Island, you will return to Shanghai Quiet Villa and follow Chen Zhi and Ming'er to learn the ways of cultivation properly. In the future, as a killer, it won't be your gun, your beauty, or even your intellect that matters," Jiang Chen paused, looking at Ding Yan with a serious expression. "It will be your strength. As long as you have absolute strength, you can crush any opponent."
Ding Yan was taken aback; she had no deep understanding of the strength Jiang Chen spoke of. She secretly thought that even if she could cultivate to the level of Chen Zhi and Ye Ming and use her energy to kill from a distance, honestly, that energy was not as powerful as some firearms and certainly not as effective as her beauty.
She didn't grasp the meaning of Jiang Chen's words, which was understandable; an ordinary person's perspective could not compare to Jiang Chen's. The absolute strength he referred to was the kind that could shake the heavens—a single punch capable of destroying planets, a single rage that could tremble galaxies.
"Alright, you've had enough to drink; go back to your room and rest," Jiang Chen said.
"Young Master, thank you for today. You helped me find my mother; I will never forget this kindness for the rest of my life," Ding Yan expressed gratefully.
"Go back now," Jiang Chen smiled lightly, noncommittal. He didn’t need her gratitude; he only required Ding Yan to obey him in the future.
As a killer, Ding Yan was cautious and sharp. Spending more time honing her skills under Jiang Chen would prove beneficial; once her strength became formidable enough, she would have other uses.
Just as Ding Yan was about to get up and leave, there was a loud knock on the door.
"It seems some people are eager to seek their own demise," Jiang Chen said with a faint smile. "Ding Yan, go open the door."
Ding Yan had no doubts about Jiang Chen's strength now; even if he wasn’t a deity, he was undoubtedly a top-tier expert.
When the door opened, Zhao Hun entered with a middle-aged man and over ten bodyguards. Upon seeing Ding Yan and Zhao Hun, they rushed inside.
With Zhao Hun's status, finding out where Jiang Chen and Ding Yan were was quite easy.
"Heh, you guys are quite wealthy to be staying in a presidential suite," Zhao Hun sneered as he surveyed the room.
"What do you want? Get out of here before I make you regret it," Ding Yan retorted angrily.
"Heh, I know you have some skills, but unfortunately, this time you can't act recklessly. This is Master Wu; he is a Martial Arts Expert. Your level of strength is nothing compared to Master Wu," Zhao Hun said proudly while pointing at the middle-aged man beside him.
Master Wu glanced at Ding Yan and then said to Zhao Hun, “President Zhao, you called me here late at night just to deal with a woman? You really think too highly of her.”
Master Wu was quite dismissive, not taking Ding Yan seriously at all.
“Master Wu, don’t underestimate her just because she’s a woman. She has some skills, and I had no choice but to ask for your help,” Zhao Hun replied.
