The cruise ship set sail, and despite the sweltering heat, the sea breeze brought a hint of coolness. Lin Jingzhu and Zhou Xuemei were chatting, occasionally glancing at Jiang Chen. Noticing that Jiang Chen wasn’t looking back at her, Lin Jingzhu felt a twinge of disappointment.
“Mr. Jiang, that high school classmate of yours is really beautiful; she must be a gentle girl,” Ding Yan said with a smile.
Jiang Chen nodded in acknowledgment.
“And I can tell she truly likes you,” Ding Yan continued.
Jiang Chen remained silent, prompting Ding Yan to fall quiet as well.
An hour later, the cruise ship arrived at Hong Kong Island Pier. Once they disembarked, Lin Jingzhu's school group, consisting of more than a dozen students, was mostly made up of girls. Among them, Lin Jingzhu was undoubtedly the most beautiful, with Zhou Xuemei coming in second.
“Jiang Chen, since we’re here to travel, why don’t you join us? It’ll be more lively with more people,” Lin Jingzhu said eagerly as she stepped forward to look at him. She had finally gotten the chance to see Jiang Chen and naturally wanted to spend time with him.
Before Jiang Chen could respond, Mark stepped in confidently. “Since you’re friends of Jingzhu, let’s all go together! I’ve been to Hong Kong Island many times and know it well. I’ve already booked a room at the Golden Coast Resort Hotel. It’s a unique hotel on Hong Kong Island that requires advance reservations and is hard to book. However, I know the manager there, so getting an extra room won’t be a problem.”
Mark spoke excellent Huaxia Language. Being from a neighboring country, it was normal for him to have visited Hong Kong Island.
“Handsome Jiang, come along! I heard the Golden Coast Resort Hotel is right by the beach and has a seaside area. We’re planning to have a bonfire barbecue party on the beach tonight; you should join us!” Zhou Xuemei added her invitation.
“Alright then,” Jiang Chen agreed, unable to refuse especially under Lin Jingzhu’s hopeful gaze. Although Lin Jingzhu had broken his heart in his past life, she seemed different this time around. However, returning to their childhood relationship was impossible; Jiang Chen wouldn’t give her that chance again.
Seeing Jiang Chen agree made Lin Jingzhu beam with joy and excitement, while Mark merely smiled faintly, his expression somewhat cold.
The Golden Coast Resort Hotel wasn’t located in the bustling area of Hong Kong Island but rather in a more secluded coastal area. Yet the environment here had its own charm, making it a relaxing place for tourists.
The hotel’s accommodations resembled water villas in the Maldives; however, the small villas at Golden Coast Resort were not on the water but nestled on the hillside by the coast. Each villa had a unique design reminiscent of forest cabins.
These cabins were categorized by price: those at the foot of the mountain were the cheapest at over two thousand per night; those halfway up cost over five thousand; and there was only one cabin at Mountain Peak—the most luxurious one—costing eighty thousand per night. From this cabin, guests could enjoy breathtaking views of the dazzling lights of Hong Kong Island and gaze upon the shimmering sea surface while lying inside with an open roof to stargaze through glass.
Not only tourists but also wealthy individuals from Hong Kong Island liked to bring their partners here for an overnight stay.
At nightfall on Mountain Peak, surrounded by wooden cabins under the Milky Way sky with one man and one woman—it was indeed romantic. Thus, ordinary people could hardly book a cabin at Mountain Peak; it wasn’t just about money but also about status and identity.
Lin Jingzhu and her friends were still students; although they came from wealthy families, they could only afford to book the cheapest cabins—two students per cabin.
