The old man found himself at a loss for what to do. After all, Daoist Zuo's reputation was well-known, even in the Righteous Path, and even someone like him, who was considered a minor player in the world of the unorthodox, often heard rumors about this person's ruthless methods. 0

He was an outer disciple of the Jindan Dao, having been taught some lesser spells by his master, such as the Pai Zhi Zi. As for the art of creating beasts, that was beyond his capabilities. His sole responsibility was to scour the streets for solitary children with favorable destinies and then crush the Shan Ren Xiang in his hand. 0

With a gentle tap on their forehead, he would cast his spell. The techniques of the Jindan Sect were far superior to those circulating in the martial world; they did not merely daze their targets but instead confused their minds. Once the target inhaled the Shan Ren Xiang, they would enter a trance-like state, moving like a walking corpse. All he had to do was give a command, and they would obediently follow him. 0

Thus, even in bustling streets filled with people, as long as one did not pay close attention, it was nearly impossible to see through his actions. This was a gray industry. A certain big shot had peculiar tastes that deviated from those of ordinary people. The Jindan Dao catered to these preferences by seeking out children with excellent appearances and favorable destinies in the market, crafting various pets for his amusement. Under the protection of this influential figure, Cai Sheng practiced deviant arts. 0

The Jindan Dao originated from the Bai Lian Jiao during the Hongwu period. They worshipped Wu Sheng Lao Mu, whose form was derived from the Daoist figure Xi Wangmu and transformed into a new divine name through the Fu Ji method. The purpose of this sect was Ming Xin Dao and Cai Sheng alchemy. They excelled in Cai Sheng techniques, harboring delusions of using humans as elixirs to forge a longevity golden pill from the Three Souls and Seven Spirits. 0

After much contemplation, the old man finally dialed a number. 0

"Hello?" A raspy voice came from the other end. 0

"Lord Luo, it's bad news! The newly acquired jadeite has fallen!" The old man said anxiously. 0

"Fallen?" 0

There was a moment of silence before the raspy voice erupted in anger. "Where did it fall?" 0

"It fell into the hands of a sharp-tongued expert; it's hard to explain!" The old man's face glistened with beads of cold sweat the size of soybeans. 0

"What is your surname?" asked the raspy voice, filled with suspicion. 0

"None of your business, kind-hearted as a Buddha!" the old man replied with a bitter smile. 0

"Damn your mother!" The raspy voice rose sharply. "If the goods don't get delivered and we anger the leader and that big shot, our fate won't be any better than those raw corpses!" 0

"I know, I know!" The old man seemed to recall something, his frail body trembling like a withered bamboo. He whispered, "I've been watching A Long; there hasn't been any movement yet. It seems Daoist Zuo hasn't noticed either." 0

He was about to wipe the sweat from his brow when a cool handkerchief was thoughtfully offered to him. Without thinking much of it, he assumed it was just the little beggar trying to be clever. He took the handkerchief and wiped his face, only to feel something was off. The handkerchief was greasy and seemed to have warm liquid on it, which was quite uncomfortable. 0

Upon closer inspection, he realized it was a piece of skin that had been peeled off very neatly, complete with two hollow holes. From years of experience in skinning, he recognized it as the skin of a living person. The membrane was still attached in places, with remnants of flesh and blood dripping continuously. 0

"Your godson has some guts; however, it seems he's been silenced by some spell. Even though I skinned him alive, he didn't betray you!" A young man dressed in black with long hair brushing his brows chuckled as he wiped the blood on the old man's clothes. 0

The old man's voice trembled slightly as he said, "Zuo... Zuo..." 0

On the other end of the phone, the raspy voice suddenly fell silent. 0

Zuo Ci looked like a curious child as he gazed at the dog lying in a pool of blood, its skin peeled away. He clicked his tongue in amazement and said, "I've dealt with your Nanzong's Female Bodhisattva before; your skinning technique is clearly from the Northern School—rough and lacking artistry! You should know that those venomous beauties from Nanzong have a meticulous way of skinning; they peel it off cleanly without any wrinkles. With just a bit of refining, they can easily change their appearance." 0

The old man felt a tightening in his lower body as yellowish liquid dripped down his pants onto the ground with a foul stench. 0
