In Eastern Japan, the legendary Yamata no Orochi is known as an immortal eight-headed serpent, but in the lands of Huaxia, it is referred to as Xiang Liu. After being struck down by the ancient hero Hou Yi, who shot off one of its heads, it fled in terror to Eastern Japan. There, it transformed and became one of the Nine Great Evil Gods.
As the Yatengu observed the approaching Dragon Breath, its pupils trembled with fear. It opened its mouth and began to chant in a deep, resonant tone. A strange flesh lump on its head coalesced into a bronze-like barrier that stretched out before it, adorned with swirling golden lotus lights.
The Dragon Breath scorched the bronze barrier, causing it to emit a radiant glow as it began to twist and warp. Yet, it managed to withstand the searing flames. However, the Yatengu's aura had significantly weakened.
"Is this what you call Shikigami in Eastern Japan? Pathetic!" Zuo Ci remarked as he watched the Yatengu's barrier unfold. Without a moment's hesitation, he recited an incantation: "All mountains and ridges shall submit; summon clouds and rain to call forth celestial soldiers. Let the Chimera disperse! With this talisman, I stabilize the realm. I summon Xi Yue Tai Hua!"
Above in the Jiu Tian, a heavy aura began to coalesce. It formed into an ancient and towering mountain range.
The oppressive force surged forth like the Yellow River bursting through a dam. The Yatengu found itself momentarily immobilized, as if sinking into a swamp. Its body was encased in heavy armor that emitted mournful clinks of metal striking against metal, as if being squeezed by invisible hands.
Crack! Crack! The Bronze Skin barrier began to shatter.
Abe Munenori gazed at the ancient mountain hovering above in Jiu Tian, his eyelids twitching involuntarily. What kind of spell is this? To be able to summon mountains?
Oni Yama, come forth!
Abe Munenori had initially planned to conserve some of his strength. However, it was clear now that if he didn't unleash his full power, he might not get another chance.
A figure resembling a monk squeezed through the rift behind Abe Munenori. His face was like that of Hong Suan Jiang, with a long and high red nose. Dressed in a Black Kasaya, he appeared as a devout ancient monk, his expression solemn. Behind him were wings of a pale blue hue, faintly reminiscent of Feng Lei.
In his large, furry hands, he wielded the Azure Wind Fan, which seemed to generate small tornadoes swirling around it. Oni Yama was known as one of the Great Tengu, one of the Three Great Ancestor Gods of the Eastern Land.
In Eastern Japan folklore, Yatengu were typically arrogant mountain ascetics who transformed into Yatengu after death. They represented a strict hierarchy among their kind, with the most notable being the White Wolf Tengu, Yamabushi Tengu, Mokuyou Tengu, and Yatengu. Oni Yama was the king of the Yatengu clan.
"Spirit Summoning Technique!" Abe Munenori exclaimed in a low voice.
Oni Yama cast a disdainful glance at Abe Munenori. Deep down, he looked down on this Onmyoji; after all, he was far inferior to his ancestor, Abe Seimei. Nevertheless, as a being revered by generations of the Abe Family for their Shikigami, Oni Yama could not escape the constraints of fate.
He aimed at the mountains slowly descending from the sky and gently waved his Azure Wind Fan.
Whoosh!
A fierce Dark Cyan tornado swept across the heavens and earth. The immense wind pressure tore apart Taihua Mountain. The Moving Mountain Technique was not truly capable of moving mountains.
Instead, it relied on the power of incantations to summon the roots and waters of the mountains. The Huaxia Five Mountains, an ancient secret of Lao Shen, were once the sacred ground for emperors to perform their rituals. The aura here was rich and abundant.
Zuo Ci scratched his head. Was this the first time the Moving Mountain Technique had been disrupted by someone else? Could this fan possibly belong to the Iron Fan Princess, the legendary Banana Fan?
Hmm, it seems this treasure is destined to be mine!
