"Brother Dong, I'll go with you. They won't discover my whereabouts," Liu Sen said to me. I nodded in response; I had complete confidence in this scout. With him by my side, I knew he wouldn't cause any trouble.
"I'll join you too. I'm really starting to appreciate you now," Zheng Yu said with a grin as he started the car. I chuckled and replied, "Are you sure? They only allowed me to go alone. If you're not up to the task, it might be better for you to stay back as support."
Zheng Yu understood the implication of my words. With Liu Sen accompanying me, I was assured of his ability to remain undetected, but could Zheng Yu do the same?
"Don't worry about it," Zheng Yu said confidently with a chuckle. After that, I didn't say anything more and simply gave him the address. The three of us drove towards Chengnan Chemical Plant.
On the way, we discussed our strategy. We still didn't know how many people were there, so before I entered, Liu Sen should scout ahead to gather information about the situation inside. Knowing what we were up against would help ensure my safety.
Before long, we arrived near Chengnan Chemical Plant and parked a few kilometers away. Liu Sen stealthily made his way toward the factory to investigate.
About ten minutes later, Liu Sen returned. "Brother Dong, there are at least four people inside the factory, including Xi Xiang. One person is guarding Xi Xiang while a man and a woman are in a room flirting and chatting."
Liu Sen reported back, having even overheard their flirtation.
"Flirting?" Zheng Yu raised an eyebrow. "They're flirting while doing something like this? That's just ridiculous."
I chuckled lightly; their numbers were few—only three: two men and one woman. We had three on our side as well, all with decent combat abilities. However, I believed Geng Kun wouldn't send an incompetent person for this task. Their small number indicated they were confident in their individual skills.
Moreover, they had Xi Xiang with them, which would greatly limit our operational capacity.
In fact, their small numbers made me feel that rescuing Xi Xiang wouldn't be too difficult. If Yu Ge could manage it, it would be best if he could climb onto the roof of the factory where there was a skylight. Once I got inside and lured the guard away from Xi Xiang under the skylight, Yu Ge could throw something down to knock him out.
Meanwhile, I would lie in ambush at the door of the room where the two others were located. As soon as they came out for support, I'd launch a surprise attack and that would be that.
"Not bad! No wonder you were a scout; you can analyze plans after scouting out the area," Zheng Yu praised Liu Sen and agreed with his plan. I also concurred with Liu Sen's strategy. Afterward, Zheng Yu and Liu Sen got out of the car and headed toward the factory on foot while I drove up boldly to the factory entrance.
The chemical plant had been abandoned for some time and looked quite dilapidated. When I reached the entrance, Liu Sen and Zheng Yu had already started climbing over the wall. I pushed open the rusted door with a creak.
"Xiang Dong?"
As soon as I opened the door, I saw Xi Xiang tied to a chair with her mouth gagged. Upon seeing me, she let out muffled sounds of distress. Beside her stood a burly man playing with a thirty-centimeter-long triangular bayonet.
"It's me; I'm here. Let her go," I said firmly. The man before me was muscular but lacked any excess fat or even extra muscle—his body was streamlined, suggesting good speed and explosive power; he clearly trained hard.
"Ha! You know why I'm here without me having to explain further," he sneered coldly, pointing his military knife at Xi Xiang. The gagged Xi Xiang immediately screamed in terror, her eyes wide and sweat pouring down her face.
But I couldn't help but smile.
He was speaking the truth, and I understood that well, but I couldn't allow such a thing to happen. Do you know what most villains die from?
I looked at the assassin with a hint of a smile and asked. Not far in front of me lay a square light circle, the spot beneath the skylight. Calculating the time, Zheng Yu should have climbed up by now. All I needed to do was provoke this assassin, making him come over to kill me so he could pass through that light circle!
"What the hell do you want to say?"
The assassin glared at me, clearly annoyed. Well, at least he knew he was the villain.
"Most villains die from talking too much. With the way you're chatting, you're getting there fast, brother."
I smirked, my lips curling into a smile. The assassin froze for a moment; he probably thought he was pretty cool.
"Damn! Is your head stuck in a door? Can't you see what's happening right now? It's you! You're the one who's about to die!"
The assassin pointed his military knife at me as a reminder. I laughed again; from his reaction, it was clear he wasn't professional enough—too much chatter! If you want to kill someone, just do it already! Why do you have to chat for a while? I figured he was just a fugitive with some skills, which is why Geng Kun had hired him.
"So what are you waiting for? Come on!"
I shouted at the assassin. He hesitated again; perhaps in his mind, I should be begging for mercy right now, and it would be reasonable for him to stomp on me! But I had inadvertently shattered that perception—I'm begging for death! Come at me!
"Damn it! I've never seen someone like you! Fine! I'll take care of you!"
The assassin cursed and brandished his triangular military dagger menacingly as he approached me. Just as he stepped under the square light circle, half a brick suddenly fell from above.

The assassin was instantly stunned by the blow, blood gushing from his head. He looked up dazedly; Zheng Yu peeked down from the skylight and flashed him a mischievous smile. Then he collapsed to the ground.

I stepped forward and kicked the assassin; there was no response. This factory was quite tall—though it was just half a brick, it hit him on the head and didn't knock him out immediately? He could still lift his head to see who hit him? Impressive.
Seeing that the assassin was truly unconscious, I picked up his triangular military dagger and walked over to where Xi Xiang was tied up to help him get free.
"I'm sorry, brother; I scared you."
I used the dagger to cut through the ropes binding Xi Xiang and removed the rag stuffed in his mouth. Just then, the door outside swung open, and Zheng Yu walked in.
"Brother, wasn't this rescue too easy? Why hasn't there been any movement from Liu Sen?"
As soon as Zheng Yu finished speaking, I heard Xi Xiang shout loudly!

I quickly turned around and used my dagger to deflect Xi Xiang's knife aimed at me! In an instant, I pressed my dagger against Xi Xiang's neck!

I kicked away Xi Xiang’s dagger and turned to walk towards Zheng Yu. I was cautious; Xi Xiang’s skills were no match for me. Just then, Liu Sen came down the stairs, dragging a man and a woman like they were chickens.

I looked up and cursed! It was Lu Qiang and Wei Qian!
“Dong Ge, Dong Ge! I’m sorry! This wasn’t my choice; it was all He Wei’s doing! He forced me!”

I chuckled lightly; what a surprise indeed! But thinking back, Wei Qian had always wanted to hook up with Lu Qiang.
Before I could ask further, Lu Qiang spoke up, saying it was He Wei who had sent him. It was clear that this incident violated the family rules of Tian Ye Group. Even if Geng Kun wanted to get involved, he would use others as scapegoats. He wouldn’t risk his own life; he just needed to hint at He Wei, and he would know what to do. Even if this matter were exposed and failed, he could easily distance himself from it and claim it wasn’t his doing.
At this moment, Cao Minghui had abandoned Lu Qiang and even harbored murderous intent towards him. Since Lu Qiang came to me for help, I didn’t care about him either. Xi Xiang exclaimed in shock upon seeing Liu Sen dragging Wei Qian and Lu Qiang out. Liu Sen chuckled lightly; he hadn’t witnessed Xi Xiang’s earlier attempt on my life; otherwise, he wouldn’t have let Xi Xiang off so easily.
Kidnapped? Damn it! I’ve been outside listening to these two nearly suffocate each other with their affection!
Liu Sen said helplessly. Upon hearing this, Xi Xiang froze in place, completely dazed as he sat down in a chair, staring blankly at Wei Qian being dragged by Liu Sen.
“Yu Ge, can you handle this?”
I turned back to Zheng Yu and asked. This situation involved family rules; Lu Qiang would definitely not survive. However, I didn’t want blood on my hands; I disliked it.
“Sure, but how should we deal with that kid?”
Zheng Yu nodded and pointed at the dazed Xi Xiang beside him as he looked at me questioningly.
