"What did they ask you?"
I smiled and looked at Rosen. He told me that Liu Sen asked where I was, and he expressed his shock after hearing about my experience at the Gladiatorial Arena in Jinshan Jiao. However, once he learned that I couldn't speak with him, everything made sense to him.
Liu Sen assured me that he would take care of everything I instructed him to do, and within two days, no one would pose a threat to Huaxia Village. In such a short time, Liu Sen had already contacted his friend in the mercenary group.
He also mentioned that I hadn't told him enough and hoped to get in touch with me. "I have a phone here; you can use it," Rosen said as he pulled out a mobile phone and handed it to me.
We didn't have phones, but it was easy for Rosen to get one since he had been outside.
"Great! Thanks!"
I took the phone from Rosen, thanked him, and returned to my room. I dialed Liu Sen's number.
"Hello?"
"Dong Ge? Is that you?"
Liu Sen's concerned voice came through. After I returned, he must have found an excuse to say I died on the road. They probably thought I was dead!
"It's really you! It's really you, Dong Ge! Damn! This is fantastic!"
Liu Sen was immediately excited, and I couldn't help but smile too. Hearing his voice brought me so much joy.
"Alright, tell me what has happened over the past couple of months."
I asked Liu Sen, who then explained that after returning to Kyoto, he claimed I had been assassinated and died on the road without a complete corpse. Liu Sen and Wan Fei immediately severed ties with him, not believing I was dead and blaming him for not protecting me properly.
Then Liu Sen and Wan Fei came to Jinshan Jiao looking for me but found nothing and had just returned to Kyoto. Zheng Yu had been in Kyoto as the head of Azure Dragon Hall at Tian Ye Gang, maintaining secret contact with Liu Sen and Wan Fei. When Liu Sen and Wan Fei returned, Zheng Yu told them something seemed off with him and suggested that if anything happened to me, it was likely his doing!
Wan Fei and Liu Sen were furious upon hearing this and wanted revenge against him, but Zheng Yu stopped them. After returning to Kyoto, he secured his position as South District Boss and used my supposed death to firmly blame it on Liu Haoran!
Fang Ying was furious about my death as well, but there was no concrete evidence pointing to Liu Haoran being responsible. Nevertheless, a month ago, Fang Ying expelled Liu Haoran from the Kyoto Headquarters.
Now he had Fang Ying's trusted subordinates under his control. Zheng Yu intervened with Wan Fei and Liu Sen because now he was simply too powerful to confront.
"It really was him! Dong Ge, you treated him like a brother, and this is how he repays you? I'm going to kill him!"
Liu Sen said angrily. I calmed him down and assured him that we would settle the score with him eventually, but not right now.
"Are you still the leader of Vermilion Bird Hall?" I asked Liu Sen.
"Yes, but I don't have much real power anymore. I was away for over a month, and when I returned, most of my subordinates had been replaced," Liu Sen replied.
I nodded in understanding. I had suspected as much; the situation with Wan Fei was likely similar.
"Can you still call upon your mercenary group?" I inquired, as I primarily needed their assistance. I couldn't use Tian Ye Gang for this task.
"Of course. Dong Ge, weren't you the one who asked me to protect the people from Huaxia Village? I've already sent someone; they'll be picked up tomorrow night. I can also have them bring you back! A sudden attack should definitely rescue you!" Liu Sen said, and I couldn't help but smile at his enthusiasm.
We agreed on a time for him to help me. While I certainly needed Liu Sen's assistance, there were still things I needed to accomplish before he could come to my aid.
I planned to kidnap the owner of Gladiatorial Arena, Tam's son, Kyle!
Tam dotes on his son Kyle! Capturing Kyle would be equivalent to seizing Tam's life!
I wanted all those beasts dead!
To ensure success, it had to be me leading the operation from within. During my two months in the beast fighting arena, I had encountered Kyle. Even in the Jinshan Jiao region, he acted with extreme caution.
Even within Gladiatorial Arena, he was surrounded by countless bodyguards!

I interrupted him directly. I understood what he meant; if you want someone to do your bidding, don’t be stingy—that’s pointless.
Nick chuckled at that and nodded, saying, “Alright!”
“Good. Rosen, I need to know Kyle’s exact whereabouts. I want to know his precise location two nights from now.”
As soon as I said this, the expressions of everyone in the room changed. Kidnapping Kyle? How dangerous and thrilling! But Nick smiled wider; he seemed completely unfazed and even intrigued.
“Okay,” Rosen said after a moment of thought before turning to leave. He could come and go freely, and I trusted that finding Kyle’s location wouldn’t be difficult for him at all.
“What do you want to do with Kyle?” Johnny asked me after Rosen left.
Before I could answer, Nick spoke up. “Whatever we need to do; we just need to get the money, Johnny. Don’t ask so many questions.”
Johnny didn’t say anything further, and I smiled in satisfaction. Nick really was a good leader.
The time I arranged with Liu Sen was two days later—at midnight twelve o’clock, the mercenary group would arrive at the Gladiatorial Arena. I would find Kyle’s location an hour in advance, kidnap him, and then control him.
A perfect plan.
But the next day, something unexpected happened.
Tomorrow!
I was actually scheduled to go on stage!
"What is going on? It's only been a few days since my last match! Why am I being scheduled to fight again?"
I asked the manager, but all he did was chuckle lightly and say, "Whenever it's your turn, you just go! This time, let me tell you, if you lose, you won't have a meal to eat. And if you win, the boss will lose a lot of money. So, figure it out."
After dismissing me with a sneer, the manager turned and walked away, leaving me completely stunned.

"Xiang Dong, did you offend someone?" Nick asked after the manager left. I frowned at his question. I knew it had to be Liu Sen and his two traitorous lackeys. They couldn't kill me outright, but they were pushing me toward my doom in this way.

I frowned again and said, "If that's the case, then there's no time left. I definitely can't win this time. If I do win, it will cost the Gladiatorial Arena a lot of money; they won't let me off the hook. But what if I lose? Will my opponent let me leave the Gladiatorial Arena?"

"My brother will come to pick me up tomorrow. Do you know about the mercenary group that fought against Tam recently?" I inquired.
Nick's eyes widened in surprise. "Yeah! You're part of that mercenary group?"
"No, that's just a friend of my brother's. My brother will come with them to rescue me; all you need to do is hold Kyle for a while," I said with a smile. Hearing this, Nick smiled back and nodded in agreement.
Then I called Liu Sen again. The level character match was set to start at five in the evening and usually ended around that time. I asked Liu Sen if we could start a bit earlier tomorrow.
This undoubtedly increased the difficulty; attacking at midnight when everyone is asleep is one thing, but attacking in the afternoon when people are awake is another matter entirely.
