"What are you doing, Lao Wang? What the hell are you trying to do?"
Lao Hu was bewildered, and all the other Helmsmen were just as confused. Liu's Lao Liu, Shan Dong's Wu Xiangqian, and Jilin's Sun Wanqing all pointed at Lao Wang, not understanding why he was acting this way.
"Brothers, don't say I'm being ungrateful. I have no choice. Given the current situation, this is the only way I can save you," Lao Wang sighed with a look of disgust. He then ordered his underlings to deal with Lao Hu. His demeanor was truly repulsive; he was clearly being selfish yet insisted on talking about selflessness.
But screw him!
I kept quiet; after all, it wasn't me getting hit. Lao Hu was clearly a troublemaker who wouldn’t easily submit to me, and Lao Wang knew this too, which is why he decided to teach Lao Hu a lesson.
As long as they could subdue Lao Hu, the others would be intimidated.
"Ah! Don’t hit me! I’m Hu Xiangqian! I’m Hu Xiangqian!"
"Lao Wang! Damn it, how dare you treat me like this? I won’t let you off!"
Hu Xiangqian shouted loudly, but no one paid him any mind; Lao Wang's underlings only listened to his orders. The other Helmsmen wanted to intervene but were helpless against the number of Lao Wang’s men, who stood firm.
"Lao Wang! Xiang Dong! Damn it! How can you treat me like this? I won’t let you get away with it!"
Lao Hu’s defiance remained strong. I sneered and stood up, grabbing a bottle of liquor and walking slowly toward the beaten Lao Hu.
"Go ahead! You think you can take me down today? Tomorrow I'll kill your entire family!" Lao Hu yelled at me.
I smirked.
Threatening me? That’s the last thing I’m afraid of!
"Hold his hands down!" I shouted. Lao Wang's underlings understood who they should listen to; all the Helmsmen had to obey me!
In an instant, they pinned Lao Hu’s hands down on the table. I grinned as I slipped the bottle neck over Lao Hu's middle finger.
Then I twisted hard!
Crack!
His finger snapped.
"Ah!"
"Ah!"
Lao Hu let out a horrific scream. Without pausing for a moment, I did the same with Lao Wang's index finger again!
I didn’t say a word to Lao Hu!
Ah!
With a snap, two of his fingers broke, and Lao Hu let out a wretched howl. I smirked, a hint of madness in my smile!
The other four Helmsmen must have thought I looked like a crazed devil at that moment, daring to torment the Helmsman of Tian Ye Gang like this. But it was undeniable that typically, devils are far more intimidating!
“Stop! Don’t break anymore!”
Hu Xiangqian saw that I remained silent and quickly snapped his third finger. These people had long lost their bloodlust over the years; if this were in Jinshan Jiao's Gladiatorial Arena...
What’s the big deal about not submitting? Breaking two fingers is nothing!
Crack!
I still didn’t say a word.
I broke his third finger!
The silent pressure would drive Lao Hu insane, and it would send the other four Helmsmen into madness as well.
Ah!
Ah!
“What the hell do you want? Speak up! Damn it, just say something!” Lao Hu shouted angrily!
Is he finally submitting to me?
Damn it!
I smashed a beer bottle over Lao Hu's head!
The bottle shattered!
“Who the hell are you talking to?” I grabbed Lao Hu by the collar and demanded!
Lao Hu was stunned by the blow from the bottle, his eyes glazed over. He fell silent, an eerie quietness enveloping him. Perhaps no one expected that Lao Hu would actually open his mouth to offer help after all this; could I really go that far?
Arrogant! Utterly arrogant!
I tossed Lao Hu aside and turned my cold gaze toward the four Helmsmen who were already dumbfounded.
I tell you all! Those who follow me will prosper! Those who oppose me! If you want to walk out of this room alive, you must listen to me!
I shouted loudly!
The room fell silent; not a single person dared to refute me.
You have one minute to show your stance. After one minute, anyone who hasn’t made the right decision, Yue Qing, send them to their demise!
I said coldly from the side. Yue Qing smiled and nodded, pulling out a delicate dagger from somewhere, playing with it in a way that seemed utterly sinister.
Xiang Lao Da, I’m listening to you. I’ll do whatever you say.
Lao Liu was the first to express his agreement, and within thirty seconds, the others followed suit, saying they would do whatever I commanded.
That left only one person unresponsive.
Kill him!
I pointed at Hu Xiangqian, who lay nearby, seemingly oblivious to his fate, and instructed Yue Qing. Everyone here listens to me; I could easily kill Hu Xiangqian and then claim he died in an accident, promoting a more obedient subordinate.
Without a moment's hesitation, Yue Qing moved forward with the knife.
No, no! I’m not dead yet! I can still express my stance!
At that moment, Hu Xiangqian, lying on the ground, suddenly spoke up. Yue Qing turned to look at me.
I let out a cold laugh and glanced at my watch; there was still time left.
Fifty seconds—this time you’re lucky!
I sneered as I spoke. I could see everyone in the room shudder; they were genuinely afraid of me.
Dong Ge, what’s the plan? Should we record everyone?
Hui Wang asked with feigned interest, trying to flatter me.
But do I really need a recording?
No need for that. With a recording, I could easily fabricate evidence of their conspiracy against me.
Let’s move to a cleaner private room for our discussion. Hey! Can you still move? Do you need my help?
I asked arrogantly as I looked at Hu Xiangqian. Some people are just pathetic; the more arrogant you are, the more obedient they become. The few Helmsmen here are all cut from the same cloth—pathetic.
I can manage; don’t trouble yourself, Xiang Lao Da.
Hu Xiangqian crawled up from under the table, his face covered in blood, looking quite disheveled.
But that wasn’t too bad; at least according to the original plan, they were all supposed to die. Once I gathered enough evidence, Yue Qing would immediately take them out! I would send them to Hongmen, where they might find a way out.
But I still didn’t know if the people from Hongmen were in position.
If they were in position, someone should have been following me, but I hadn’t noticed anyone on my way here. So I suggested changing rooms because I figured that once I stepped out of this door, the people from Hongmen would realize that things had escalated and would take action.
I led the group out of the room. The corridor was empty, and I suspected that the Hongmen members might be observing us from the shadows. To make it clear to them what situation I was in, I deliberately acted arrogantly towards Hui Wang.
“Hey, get me a bottle of water. I'm thirsty.”
“Huh? Dong Ge, the waiter will bring it shortly,” Hui Wang replied, somewhat bewildered. It was quite audacious to ask a Helmsman to fetch water. The Hongmen members would surely think that I had subdued these people.
“I said get it! Hurry up!” I snapped at Hui Wang. He chuckled awkwardly and agreed, quickly turning to fetch the water. Then I led my group into the private room.
Linna should have already informed Hongmen about my situation. I didn’t want to betray Qing Gang; I still wanted to remain undercover in Tian Ye Gang. The reason was simple: Qing Gang had already established its own power, and my role within Qing Gang was evidently more significant and beneficial for the overall situation.
But what about if I joined Hongmen? I would be just like Hui Wang and the others—merely a regular defector. Even if I were accepted, my value would certainly not match what I currently had.
Moreover, Hongmen would likely agree with my perspective and allow me to stay with Qing Gang, which would bring me even more advantages.
Once we settled into the private room, the plan could commence. I explained to them my intention to have them defect from Qing Gang and bring all their forces over to Hongmen. They were all astonished by this revelation, but under my imposing presence, they had no choice but to comply.
Meanwhile, Yue Qing stood by with her phone recording everything. If Hongmen didn’t show up soon, this group would be in serious trouble.
Just as Yue Qing was putting her phone away and preparing to take action, a group suddenly burst in!
“Don’t move!”
The intruders entered and immediately brandished their weapons—gleaming blades! Everyone in the room except for me was stunned into silence.
“What’s going on?” Yue Qing looked at me with a questioning gaze. I shook my head in confusion; I had no idea what was happening either.
Then Yue Qing's expression turned cold as she realized they were here to cause trouble. Without hesitation, she drew her glinting dagger and charged forward!
A killer is a killer; they don’t waste time with idle chatter before a fight. She raised her hand with a deadly intent!
