In the Royal Post Station, Jiu Gong and Mu Jinkun rushed back, battered and bruised. Hong Qianjun, the esteemed scholar who opened the door for them, was taken aback. "What happened to you two?"
"Quick, quick! Jin Chuang Yao! Healing medicine!" Mu Jinkun shouted hoarsely.
The younger scholars in the station hurried out to support the two men into the hall. One of them quickly opened a wooden box in the hall and found some Jin Chuang Yao inside, handing it directly to Mu Jinkun.
Mu Jinkun took the bottle, feeling a strange familiarity with it. "Where did you get this so quickly?" he asked.
"Senior, this is the Jin Chuang Yao you asked me to prepare before you left," the younger scholar replied earnestly. "You said it was for Jiang Han, so I kept it here for you. Perfect timing!"
The younger scholar's honest response nearly made Mu Jinkun spit out a mouthful of blood in anger. He suppressed his rage, glaring at the Jin Chuang Yao in his hand. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. Suddenly, he flung it to the ground. "I don’t want this bottle!"
"Damn it! This was meant for Jiang Han!" he exclaimed. "It was supposed to be used after I tortured him! To prevent Jiang Han from dying! How did I end up using it myself?"
"No way, absolutely not! That would be humiliating!"
"What is this?" Mu Jinkun held up another small vial that the younger scholar had brought out.
"It's a potion for internal injuries. I saw blood at the corner of your mouth; you might have sustained internal injuries, so I took it out," the younger scholar explained.
"I'm not asking what it is; I'm asking where you got this medicine! It looks a bit familiar," Mu Jinkun pressed seriously.
The younger scholar picked up the wooden box again and fiddled with the vials inside. "Senior, these are all from what you arranged for me to prepare earlier. It’s just right for you now. Make do with it!"
"Get lost!" Mu Jinkun shouted in frustration as he stood up and snatched the wooden box, smashing all the vials on the ground until they shattered.
He glared furiously at everyone around him. "I don’t want these medicines! They were meant for Jiang Han! And now I’ve used them myself—what does that even mean?"
Hong Qianjun and Jiu Gong were both bewildered by Mu Jinkun's outburst.
The honest younger scholar scratched his head and said, "Senior, we have both internal and external injury medicines here; that's all we have left!"
"All gone?" Mu Jinkun looked at him in disbelief. "In such a large Royal Post Station, there are no more medicines?"
"Senior, you said we would definitely capture Jiang Han alive on this trip; these preparations were enough!" The younger scholar replied earnestly. "So there were only these medicines left, but now they’ve all been destroyed by you!"
As soon as the junior spoke, he was grabbed by Mu Jinkun and kicked.
With one leg injured, Mu Jinkun limped over and seized the junior's shoulder, using his good leg to repeatedly kick at the junior's leg.
He shouted angrily, "You go out and get some medicine! Hurry up! Now! Immediately! Go!"
"Senior, the door is closed!" the junior replied.
"Then go knock on the door! Hurry up!"
"Do you want me to hold it in until morning? I'm injured!"
Mu Jinkun roared with fury.
The junior looked at Mu Jinkun's half-limping figure and then at the shattered medicine bottles on the ground, letting out a sigh as he reluctantly walked out.
Jiu Gong had not sustained much injury, but she felt mentally and emotionally drained. She thought of the Ten Heavenly Maidens she had personally trained, all of whom had perished while trying to protect her, and her heart felt like it was shattering.
The Ten Heavenly Maidens! Ten outstanding women, ten masters!
They had actually fallen at the hands of the Imperial Guard.
This grudge would not be avenged; this palace swore not to rest until it was settled.
"Your Highness, why not let it go?"
"We've faced them so many times without victory."
Hong Qianjun advised, "I believe if it’s too difficult, we should just let it go."
"Not a chance! Not a chance!"
Jiu Gong and Mu Jinkun shouted with red eyes, both wishing they could transform into ferocious beasts to devour Jiang Han whole.
Mu Jinkun continued passionately, "Sir, I’ve been injured like this, and I almost got killed by Jiang Han’s liquor earlier. Now you want me to give up? Is there such a thing as a teacher like you?"
"I am Mu Jinkun, the top scholar of Xia Kingdom. With just a thought, countless women would willingly dedicate themselves to me. Countless talented individuals regard me as a deity; I am a rising star in the literary world."
"But here in the Great Zhou Dynasty, I almost ended up crippled and nearly drank myself to death from white liquor. You want me to let Jiang Han go? What a dream!"
"This palace has lost treasures worth at least one hundred thousand taels of gold to Jiang Han."
Quan Gai Su Wen and many other heroes have perished in battle! The Ten Heavenly Maidens and eighty of our finest soldiers have also died in combat.
Such deep-seated hatred demands that this palace seek revenge against Jiang Han.
Jiu Gong resolved to fight to the end; as long as she was alive, she would confront Jiang Han without hesitation. She murmured repeatedly, "In just a few days, the Maple Forest Iron Cavalry will arrive. This palace doesn’t want to wake up; they can contend with the Maple Forest Iron Cavalry."
Even though that Oil Saw and crossbow are incredibly powerful, when the warhorses charge like an avalanche or tsunami, they will surely annihilate them all.
"Very well, my lord, when the war begins, I want to place a bet!"
Mu Jinkun hobbled over, filled with rage. "I’m going to risk my life against Jiang Han."
"Disciple, are you betting your life again?" Hong Qianjun looked at Mu Jinkun, almost in disbelief, wanting to say something but holding back. He thought to himself, "My good disciple, can’t you just stop trying to kill yourself?"
"Sir, what kind of look is that? Do you think we will lose?" Mu Jinkun shot a glare at Hong Qianjun, his anger flaring. "You can’t undermine your own authority and boost someone else’s confidence!"
Hong Qianjun pondered for a moment, but in the end, all his thoughts condensed into one phrase: "Let it go."
The two ignored Hong Qianjun entirely.
The junior disciples had also returned with Jin Chuang Yao.
Mu Jinkun gritted his teeth as he applied the medicine. After finishing, he declared fiercely, "Prince! That little brat Che Chengyun sold me out again! This time he even sold you out—what a scoundrel!"
"Langya Wangfu has taken advantage of our trust and betrayed us twice. This time, we must go find Che Chengyun and Langya Prince to settle the score."
"Yes!" Jiu Gong nodded earnestly.
Inside Langya Wangfu!
Langya Prince looked at Che Chengyun in shock. After hearing the entire story, he couldn’t help but exclaim, "Son, I sold them out once; you sold them out again. Are you afraid they won’t die?"
"A true man must be decisive in his actions. Since you chose betrayal, you should have retreated to the outskirts and waited for Mu Jinkun and Jiu Gong to come out before taking them down!"
