Upon learning this fact, Lu Jin took even more care of Xiao Ya, accompanying her to the hospital for treatment. However, the situation was not optimistic; Xiao Ya's condition continued to deteriorate. 0

Every night, when Lu Jin awoke from the endless darkness of nightmares, he would find Xiao Ya sitting by his bedside, holding his hand tightly. 0

Whenever Lu Jin tried to pull his hand away, Xiao Ya would suddenly shout, "No, you can't let go of my hand. We will always be together, never apart." Her face was as pale as paper, yet her expression was resolute. 0

At first, Lu Jin would comfort her, but soon Xiao Ya's behavior escalated. At night, she even got up and attempted to tie him up with a rope, often laughing maniacally. This caused the happiness that had been building up in Lu Jin's heart to gradually crumble. 0

The ring! Lu Jin thought of it once again. 0

He opened the drawer, but the Purple Box was missing; it was not in the drawer. 0

"What are you looking for?" Xiao Ya suddenly appeared behind Lu Jin without a sound. He shivered and quickly shook his head in denial. "Nothing, I’m not looking for anything." 0

Lu Jin made an excuse to escape from home; he felt suffocated being near Xiao Ya. Lost at the crossroads, he looked up at the high-hanging moon, feeling the blood in his veins gradually freeze as an odd sense of unease washed over him. 0

Something was off. Lu Jin thought as he looked around; the empty road had only him on it—no pedestrians, no vehicles—everything around him was shrouded in darkness. He checked his watch; it was 8:15 PM. 0

Where did everyone go? 0

There was no one and no sound; the entire city felt like a dead place where everyone had vanished into thin air, leaving only him behind. Lu Jin stood there in a daze as flashes of past fears surged before his eyes, freezing his heart in terror. He wanted to leave—leave this place, leave Xiao Ya, leave behind what he once thought was a beautiful happiness. 0

From the darkness across the street, a figure slowly emerged and stopped some distance away. Lu Jin couldn't see his face clearly but noticed that his legs were swinging back and forth—it was him! 0

"Time that has been torn apart, events that have been separated, still exist eternally. In a limited timeframe, if you cannot reclaim what was lost, you will forever wander in the abyss of time, unable to return." The voice was familiar, low and oppressive. The Puppet Man gradually revealed his face as he looked at Lu Jin. Lu Jin wanted to ask for help, to plead for assistance, but he found his throat constricted as if caught in a vice, unable to utter a single word. 0

A hand rested on Lu Jin's shoulder, a cold face pressed against him, and then the Puppet Man vanished. Despair washed over Lu Jin as he turned back to see Xiao Ya's ghastly smile. She was saying, "Let's get married; we'll do it tomorrow." 0

Time felt like a spiked wheel, and with every push forward, Lu Jin felt his heart pierced by those spikes. The Puppet Man's sinister words echoed in his ears; if he couldn't reclaim what was lost within this limited time, he would be trapped here forever. 0

No, this absolutely cannot happen. 0

The sun finally rose. Lu Jin donned the wedding suit Xiao Ya had prepared for him—a pink suit. Without a glance, he put it on and opened the bedroom door. Xiao Ya was already waiting outside. 0

The pure white wedding dress reflected Xiao Ya's pale face, exuding an indescribable eeriness. As Lu Jin gazed at the bride's face, a terrifying thought took root in his mind: perhaps Xiao Ya had long since died; the Xiao Ya before him was merely a ghost. 0

Xiao Ya pushed open the door and said to Lu Jin, "It's time for us to go." 0

Lu Jin stepped out into the world beyond. The city had lost a third of itself overnight; the vanished parts melded into endless darkness, where rampant black shadows devoured more and more. 0

Xiao Ya gripped Lu Jin's hand tightly. Suddenly, her body trembled violently; cold sweat poured down her face as she fainted. Lu Jin caught her and called out her name. After a long moment, Xiao Ya opened her eyes and reached out her hand, tightly clutching a withered flower—the Love Flower. 0

"I know you want to leave me, but I really... I really can't bear to... leave you..." 0

Xiao Ya's feeble heart ceased to beat. Lu Jin watched as tears rolled down her cheeks, and in that instant, his fear evaporated, leaving only an overwhelming sadness and regret. What had he done to allow his love to fade away before him? 0

Lu Jin held Xiao Ya tightly in his arms and screamed loudly as the space above them began to twist and warp; darkness consumed everything around them. 0

Xiao Ya had disappeared. After her death, Lu Jin felt disheartened, as if everything had lost its flavor. 0

He watched as the city gradually faded away, darkness slowly engulfing it. Did he still have a chance to leave this place? 0
