In the kitchen, John grumbled to himself as he recalled Redman's words from the day before. "Brother, you cook tomorrow. Make something nice, and I'll invite a few people over to gossip a bit. Don't be so serious; think about your future territory, your Salty Fish Village."
As he prepared the meal, John felt his anger rising. Why did he have to cook before becoming a noble? And even after achieving nobility, he still had to cook? This title wasn't worth it if it came with all this work. He should have refused; how many dishes could he possibly prepare? Eighteen pots of food wouldn’t be enough, and yet here he was, exhausted.
Looking at the spicy chicken in the pot, he scooped spoonfuls of chili into it until he had emptied an entire jar. "You all say you can handle spice? Fine, I'll give you more chili and make sure you feel it on both ends. Enjoy your Hemorrhoids!"
Just then, Redman stumbled into John's tent, reeking of alcohol, and collapsed onto John's bed with a thud. "Brother! Oh, brother!"
Seeing the drunken state of Redman, John couldn't help but feel exasperated. "How much did you drink?"
Redman pushed away John's supportive hand and leaned against the bedpost. "I'm not drunk! Don't touch me! I'm not drunk! I can handle a thousand cups! Ha! I'm so happy; everything's settled! Everyone believes there's pirate treasure in our territory!"
Before John could respond, Redman suddenly vomited on the bed and then slumped beside his mess, falling asleep instantly.
"Ugh... this is just great. Someone! Where are the guards?" John hurriedly called for the night patrol soldiers to come and clean up the tent. He had them change the bedding and arranged for Redman to have a separate tent with someone to look after him.
The next morning, John was jolted awake by a loud shout. He quickly rushed out of the tent.
"What’s going on? What’s happening? Is someone attacking the camp?"
Out of nowhere, Johnny hurriedly explained, "No, it’s not an attack. It’s the bathroom. Lord Redman is in there, and he’s torn his hemorrhoids."
John covered his mouth to suppress a laugh. "Ha ha, yesterday's spicy chicken really did the trick."
"Oh, you scared me! If that’s the case, I’m going back to sleep. Tell the guards not to bother me."
"Sure thing, boss. But what about Lord Redman? Should we call a medic?" Johnny asked, a hint of worry in his voice. After all, Redman was still in the bathroom, and if he didn’t come out soon, the brothers would have to take care of things outside.
"Yeah, we can’t have that. Go help Redman back to the tent to rest. If he can’t get it out, you might have to assist him."
John didn’t say anything else and went into the tent to continue sleeping.
Johnny looked at the tent with a mix of frustration and disbelief. What did they mean by helping him get it out? Did they expect him to assist with that too?
