John approached the cage, scrutinizing its contents. His gaze was drawn to a golden-haired youth inside, someone he found oddly familiar. Yes, it was Gorn Madison from the Gray Bear Mercenary Corps, the first slave who had greeted him. Back then, John had envied Gorn for being a potential consort to a noble; now, it seemed that being average-looking still had its advantages. 0

He dismissed the thought and decided to look for some decent serfs instead. Once he gathered a few, he would examine them one by one. John Ke had no intention of getting involved with Gorn, the mute slave. He wasn’t about to play the saint and rescue anyone; after all, Gorn was just a stranger with a name, far less important than the shiny silver coins in his pocket. 0

However, Gorn’s plight reminded John that fate should be grasped firmly in one’s own hands; only strength and power were truly significant. 0

Kuiradi led his soldiers with a serious demeanor, meticulously inspecting each serf. They began by checking the limbs of the serfs for any signs of injury, then gently pried open their mouths to look for any indications of disease. Following that, Kuiradi would pat the serfs’ chests to assess their muscle mass and firmness. 0

After a busy inspection, Kuiradi finally completed his evaluation of all the serfs. He reported back to John with enthusiasm. "My lord, all these serfs have been checked thoroughly. Whether it’s their dental health or physical condition, they are all capable hands for farm work!" 0

With that, Kuiradi picked up a cup from beside him and took large gulps of water. Selecting these serfs had indeed required considerable effort on his part. 0

Upon hearing Kuiradi's report, John nodded slightly in satisfaction. He then waved for Kuiradi to take a break and turned his attention elsewhere before asking, "So, besides those serfs we just reviewed, do you have any maids available for selection? I currently need six maids to help manage household chores." 0

The three-story house he lived in felt rather empty and lonely with just him occupying it. This visit was an opportunity to bring in some maids to liven things up and assist with cleaning. 0

Kuiradi immediately understood and replied, "Yes, my lord. However, what specific requirements do you have for the maids? For instance, do you prefer them to be more voluptuous or slender?" 0

John didn’t hesitate and gave a knowing smile. "Well, they should be ample where it counts and slender where it matters." 0

Kuiradi continued with his inquiries, "So do you lean more towards mature and stable types of maids or youthful and lively girls?" 0

Without a moment's thought, John responded, "I want both types." 0

"Both?" Kuiradi asked in surprise. 0

"Yes," John affirmed. "Only children make choices; as a noble lord, I want six maids—why can’t I have a mix?" 0

"Understood," Kuiradi said. "There are maids specifically prepared for noble lords like yourself. Would you like to see them?" 0

John hesitated but finally relented. "Fine, I’ll go take a look." Although he hadn’t planned on visiting them himself, it was best to be hands-on when interviewing potential maids. 0

Quickly following John, she ascended the stairs. 0
