The blade sliced through the last skeleton soldier's throat, and with a powerful punch, John shattered its skull, snatching the soul fire from within and extinguishing it with a firm grip. 0

In his mind, he noted that the advancement condition for the profession of Knight Attendant had been met. He had slain a Transcendent creature (completed). 0

Similarly, he dealt with the skeleton in his hand, while Kuiradi picked up a weapon from one of the skeletons and brought it over to John. 0

"My lord, these must be pirates from an old era," Kuiradi remarked, examining the weapon. "This looks like an old-fashioned cutlass; it's rare to see pirates using something like this nowadays." 0

John sheathed his sword and picked up the tattered Pirate Captain's hat from the ground, placing it atop his head. 0

"It seems there might be pirate treasure here. Let’s set off, treasure hunters!" 0

The thought of treasure invigorated the weary group. After a fierce battle, everyone quickly followed John as they embarked on their treasure hunt. 0

They traced the muddy skeleton footprints on the ground, cautiously making their way deeper into the island with torches in hand. 0

Perhaps due to the presence of resurrected skeletons, the atmosphere on the island felt particularly eerie. In the woods, it seemed as if unseen eyes were watching them from the shadows. 0

A faint and unsettling rustling sound echoed through the silent night, as if countless invisible feet were quietly approaching. 0

Suddenly, a short and piercing scream shattered the stillness. 0

"What was that?" John’s heart tightened as he abruptly halted and turned to look behind him. The once orderly line of soldiers had descended into chaos, with a noticeable gap at the rear. 0

No! John thought urgently. He quickly scanned the group and realized that one soldier was missing. 0

Enemies lurk in the shadows! Everyone back to back; someone has been taken! He shouted, his voice betraying his rising panic. 0

Upon hearing his command, the remaining forty soldiers sprang into action, huddling closely together to form a tight circle, each one vigilantly watching the surrounding darkness. John stood at the front with his longsword drawn, while Kuiradi took position at the rear with his shield raised high. 0

Tension, fear, and unease hung heavily over them like a thick cloud pressing down on each heart. Breaths quickened, and heartbeats thudded in their ears like war drums. 0

"Come out! If you have any guts, show yourself!" Some soldiers, unable to bear the oppressive atmosphere any longer, began shouting wildly into the darkness in hopes of forcing whatever lurked there to reveal itself. 0

Yet all they received in return was an eerie silence. 0

At that moment, a drop of liquid fell from above, landing squarely on one soldier's cheek. Instinctively raising a hand to touch it, he felt a sticky coldness spread throughout his body. 0

"What is this?" he exclaimed in terror as he looked up. By the faint moonlight, he was horrified to see that branches above were laden with enormous spider cocoons. Even more chilling was that the missing soldier was now ensnared in webs spun by a grotesquely large spider that hung suspended in midair. 0

"My lord! Above! Look above!" 0

Everyone followed John's gaze upward, and a horrifying sight met their eyes. Illuminated by their torches, John finally discerned what lurked above: a spider-like creature composed of three headless corpses. Instead of heads, three gaping maws emerged from between them, continuously spewing forth strands of silk. 0

With a swift motion, the creature spun the captured soldier, and in an instant, spider silk enveloped him. As the monster shook, the cocoon of silk was hung on a massive tree. 0

John hurriedly snatched the spear from the hands of a nearby soldier. Utilizing the Universal Qi Training Method, he wrapped his energy around it and hurled the spear with all his might, shouting at the same time. 0

"Throw the spears!" 0

Upon hearing the command, although their minds were slow to react, years of muscle training kicked in. All the soldiers instinctively drew their short spears from their backs and unleashed a barrage towards the monster. 0

The spear tips pierced through its skin, and green blood sprayed over everyone's heads. Indeed, the fear they felt stemmed from their lack of firepower. 0

What appeared to be an evil and powerful creature was reduced to a mass of metal-like flesh under the relentless assault of countless short spears. The weakened monster fell heavily to the ground from above. 0
