A new month has arrived. Time flies, and this marks the first month since John Daxianyu Village activated the Lord template's skills. John welcomed a new member to his ranks: a Half-Step Transcendent and three warriors.
"Welcome aboard, Kaich," John said with a smile, his gaze fixed on the new addition before him.
Unlike the gladiator Kuiradi and the Master Wandering Knight, Kaich stood out in a long robe. He held a long staff that appeared exceptionally heavy, measuring an astonishing two meters in length! The white beard on his chin reminded one of the legendary figure Gan Fu.
"Greetings, esteemed Lord! I am Kaich, a servant of the divine, here at your summons. Please allow me to offer my sincerest loyalty; in my heart, you are more noble than any god!" Kaich bowed respectfully, his voice resonant and firm.
John quickly stepped forward to help Kaich rise from his bow, scrutinizing him closely. After a moment, he asked, "Kaich, that staff you have looks quite extraordinary. What material is it made from?"
"My lord, it is forged from pure iron," Kaich replied without hesitation.
Hearing this answer, John nodded slightly and continued with curiosity, "Then may I ask what your profession is?"
Kaich naturally waved his staff, conjuring a gentle breeze. With confidence, he answered, "My lord, I am a priest."
"Oh? Is that so? What skills do you possess?" John worried that his question might not have been clear enough and quickly added an explanation: "I mean, specifically what kinds of Spell skills do you have?"
"My lord, I specialize in two types of Spells: the Shining Spell and the Clear Spring Technique," Kaich replied succinctly, without any hesitation.
A realization dawned on John; this was a melee mage—clearing paths with light and wielding his staff in close combat. If he got thirsty, he could even conjure water for himself.
The three warriors accompanying him were rather ordinary; however, their impressive armor saved John quite a few coins.
Kaich's arrival alleviated much of John's pressure and primarily freed up the Master from various duties. Previously, the Master had to manage not only the army but also internal affairs and village disputes that required arbitration.
"What were you expecting from Kuiradi? Can you really rely on a muscle-brained gladiator for such tasks? Is it your brain that's not functioning properly or John's?"
From now on, the Master would handle military affairs while Kaich took charge of governance—effectively separating military and political responsibilities.
With Kaich's appointment settled, John sank into the sofa within the castle and focused his mind once again; it was time for the final draw.
The Lord template came with its own Treasure card draw. As his consciousness drifted downwards, three cards soared into the air before settling as John collected his newly acquired Treasure.
Treasure: The Love of Yuan Lao.
Upon using it, I received ten tons of Five Constant Rice.
As John took the card, his hands trembled.
"Yuan Lao, I never thought that even in another world, you would still look after us kids," he said, tears welling up in his eyes. After being here for so long, he could finally enjoy a meal of rice.
He hurriedly took out a bag of rice and asked the kitchen to prepare a bowl of Lao Fan for him.
The fragrant rice, drizzled with Cai Zhi, was truly delicious.
