Hearing this, John's expression grew serious. He understood that this was no trivial matter; blindly agreeing could lead to endless trouble for him. Thus, he cautiously asked, "Brother, what exactly is the background of these six families? Please explain it to me in detail so I can assess whether I can take on this hot potato."
Seeing John's seriousness, Redman nodded and began to introduce the specifics of these six families. "Brother, among these six families, four are noble forces from the eastern region. They haven't established deep roots here in Blink County, so their manpower is relatively limited. However, the problem lies in the fact that they have formed a tight-knit alliance with strong mutual ties. Based on my estimates, they can mobilize around eighteen Transcendent Knights and eight hundred well-trained, well-equipped Elite Soldiers."
At this point, Redman paused before continuing, "As for the remaining two families, they are notorious Fence-sitters from our western region. They tend to side with whoever is stronger at the moment, making their true intentions difficult to discern. If we were to confront them, it would likely be quite challenging."
"Can't we throw them some bones to drive them away?" John furrowed his brow, pondering silently. He felt that if they could first divide this group, they could avoid creating too many enemies at once, which might help them better navigate the current situation.
When it came to division, Redman had certainly considered it as well. However, the issue was that these Fence-sitters were always opportunistic and fickle; they would follow whichever side appeared stronger. Faced with such a situation, he truly felt at a loss.
"This is simply unrealistic!" Redman shook his head helplessly and sighed. "The other side is currently in a position of assured victory with no signs of defeat; how could they easily give up the immense benefits that are within their grasp? And on our side, we simply can't offer anything more attractive to entice them to change their stance."
At this point, John suddenly proposed a bold idea: "What if we simply offer them ten percent of our iron mine? How about that?" As soon as he finished speaking, a profound silence enveloped the surroundings.
Looking at John's incredulous expression and the faint smile playing on his lips, Redman was completely baffled and had no idea what John was really getting at.
"Brother, you can't be joking with me!" Redman exclaimed with wide eyes in disbelief. "You must know that our mine is barely holding up as it is!"
But John maintained a serious demeanor, showing no signs of jest. He then elaborated on his true intentions: "Brother, think about it. If we use that ten percent of the mine as a bargaining chip to ask them to delay their attack or remain neutral and watch from the sidelines, do you think they would agree?"
"Even so, we still wouldn't be able to handle the four families left," Redman argued without seeing much difference in their situation. "If they come at us together, we won't stand a chance against over ten Transcendent Knights and more than eight hundred Elite Soldiers. Just the two of us would be like throwing eggs against a rock."
"Why do we have to wait for them to come at us? Why can't we strike first?" John's lips curled into a terrifying smile; he wasn't one to sit back and wait for disaster. In the past, it may have been due to his lack of strength, but now he was no longer someone without power.
