As the heavy city gates slowly creaked open, a dull groan echoed through the air. The two factions finally met on the wide expanse outside the gates, and the atmosphere instantly became tense to the breaking point.
Venice of Manhe Territory sat atop a tall, powerful warhorse, his sharp gaze fixed ahead. When he recognized the enemy advancing towards him, a surge of anger welled up within him. Leading the charge was none other than Redman, the one he despised to his very core!
Furious, Venice tightened his grip on his long knife and swung it fiercely in front of him, sending glimmers of cold light flashing through the air. The sharp tip pointed directly at Redman as he shouted, "Redman, you worthless scum from the West! If you have the guts, come down and face me in a fair duel! Sneaking around like this—what kind of hero does that? Get down here and fight me head-on!"
Beside him, John reached out to restrain the enraged Redman. He looked at Venice with disdain, a smirk curling at the corners of his mouth as he thought to himself: What a ridiculous joke! With such an obvious advantage on our side, why would we be foolish enough to engage in a duel with a crippled man? He had meticulously planned this battle and brought along so many Transcendents not for a fair fight but to crush the opponent with sheer numbers.
Not even bothering to respond to Venice, John waved his hand dismissively. Instantly, ten Transcendent Guards behind him drew their weapons without hesitation. Accompanied by a series of deep Wolf Howls, their bodies began to transform rapidly, morphing into massive, fur-covered werewolves in the blink of an eye. The werewolves' eyes gleamed with ferocity as they charged towards Venice like a whirlwind.
Seeing this, the other soldiers naturally did not want to be outdone. They quickened their pace, closely following behind their werewolf comrades, fearing they would be left behind and miss out on the spoils. In an instant, shouts and cries filled the air as chaos and bloodshed engulfed the battlefield.
Redman's expression darkened as he realized that his well-educated upbringing had instilled in him a clear understanding: rejecting a noble's challenge was considered extremely rude. However, standing beside him was an older brother who had long surpassed his control. Reluctantly, he could only wear a grim expression and silently watch John.
John suddenly sensed an unusual gaze directed at him. Instinctively turning his head, he caught sight of Redman's conflicted expression.
"Hey! Big brother, what's wrong? Hahaha! Are you really considering discussing some so-called noble honor with that guy?" John laughed heartily.
"John, you don't understand," Redman began to explain but was abruptly cut off by John.
"Oh come on! You mustn't be so naive! What are we? We are as precious as exquisite porcelain! And that guy? Just an inconspicuous piece of broken stone."
"Why should we bother with someone like him? If we accidentally lose this duel, it wouldn't be worth it; even if we miraculously win, what would change? Can it alter our current situation? Big brother, let's hurry and see if there’s anything valuable in this guy's territory instead."
After hearing John's words, Redman initially wanted to argue further but soon realized that John's reasoning held merit.
Indeed, they were already determined to win; why waste time entangled in a meaningless duel? With this thought in mind, Redman felt a sudden clarity wash over him as if he had gained newfound wisdom.
Just as Redman contemplated discussing more with John, he suddenly noticed John swiftly draw his gleaming Peidao from his waist and dash towards the besieged Transcendents of Manhe Territory like a bolt of lightning!
John moved with agility and speed; in an instant, he plunged into the enemy ranks. The Transcendents from Manhe Territory who were already struggling against overwhelming odds had no time to react.
