Li Hao grew increasingly agitated. Lin Xiao sighed internally, rising to cover Li Hao's mouth with her own. The words he had been about to say were drowned out between their lips. Li Hao kissed her fiercely, pouring all his worries and frustrations into that kiss.
After a moment, they finally parted, embracing each other to calm their desires. They were in the staff duty room of the Disciplinary Committee's case handling center, and this was all they could do.
"How did you get here so quickly?" Lin Xiao asked, puzzled. There was no airport in Yurou County; even flying to Changlin City and then driving back wouldn't be that fast.
"I took Si Ningyuan's private jet; he sent it to pick me up." Li Hao looked at Lin Xiao, relieved to see she was fine.
"You know my temperament; I wouldn't really be in trouble. If something were wrong, you wouldn't have been able to come in so easily. There's no need to rush," Lin Xiao explained calmly.
Li Hao felt a knot in his chest. He had hurried over, anxious about whether she had been mistreated, only to find her looking so relaxed.
After more than a month of longing and the tension of the journey, Li Hao couldn't help but press Lin Xiao against him.
"Husband, I missed you," she said softly.
The familiar scent enveloped them, bringing Lin Xiao a sense of comfort as she wrapped her arms around Li Hao's neck. All her negative emotions dissipated as Li Hao buried his head in her neck, inhaling her delicate fragrance. He sighed inwardly, thinking of her as his greatest love.
The break room had only a simple wooden bed, and both of them knew the situation wasn't ideal, so they lay down fully clothed. Lin Xiao found a comfortable position, lying on her side in Li Hao's embrace, her hands moving restlessly.
"Be good; let's see if we can go back tomorrow," Li Hao said, suppressing his emotions.
"I'll help you," Lin Xiao replied, feeling a bit reckless.
"Lin Xiao, don't move," Li Hao warned, his breath becoming uneven as warmth brushed against her ear, sending electric shivers through him.
"I'll help you; it won't make any noise," Lin Xiao said softly as she lightly touched Li Hao's throat.
In that moment, Li Hao kissed Lin Xiao, his low growl echoing in her mouth. The delicate tone of her voice revealed no hint of dislike; it was all charm.
"My dear, you truly are a enchantress," Li Hao thought, feeling content as he gazed at Lin Xiao in his arms. How could he bear to see her suffer?
Lin Xiao bit down on Li Hao's arm, stifling her voice, suppressing the whimpers that threatened to escape.
As the song came to an end, dawn began to break.
"Get some sleep," Li Hao said simply as he tidied up a bit.
Exhausted and sleepy, Lin Xiao soon drifted off into dreamland.
Li Hao, however, felt particularly alert.
When Lin Xiao woke up early the next morning, she found that Li Hao was no longer in the room.
She looked down at her clothes, neatly arranged. If it weren't for the vivid memories of the previous night, she might have thought she had merely experienced a long dream.
A knock sounded at the door. Lin Xiao quickly tidied herself up before going to answer it.
"Lin Town Head, here is your breakfast," a gentle girl said as she handed Lin Xiao a meal.
"And where is Wang? I want to see him," she inquired.
Since Li Hao had come to see her last night, someone must have given their consent. As the person responsible for the arrangements, Wang Dawei surely knew about it.
And where had Li Hao gone so early?
