The City Marathon is about to kick off, and this time the venue is conveniently located within our jurisdiction, promising several days of excitement for everyone.
A week ago, when the mysterious Mission Notification arrived quietly, we were all filled with a mix of excitement and anxiety. This mission was unprecedented in scale, requiring the gathering of a full team of elite members to work together. To be honest, at first, everyone felt a bit uncertain; after all, recruiting such a large number of people in one go made it hard to guarantee that we would meet our goals.
Fortunately, we had an efficient and professional Secretary Team. They sprang into action, meticulously crafting detailed recruitment information and sending it out strictly according to established guidelines. The moment the information was released, a miracle happened! The once-quiet chat group seemed to ignite, buzzing with activity as inquiries and registration messages flooded in like a tidal wave.
As time ticked by, within just two hours, an astonishing development occurred: all available spots were filled! The speed and efficiency of this response left us somewhat speechless. However, amidst our joy, we did not let our guard down. After some discussion and calculation, considering that team members might suddenly need to take leave during the mission due to unforeseen circumstances, we decided to add a few extra spots to ensure everything went smoothly. This way, even if someone had to withdraw at the last minute, the entire team could still proceed with the mission in an orderly manner.
Time flew by, and only three days remained until the highly anticipated Marathon officially began! At this critical moment, we unexpectedly received an enthusiastic invitation from the organizing committee, sincerely inviting us to conduct an on-site inspection of the competition venue. We quickly mobilized and gathered representatives from various teams, including the Medical Team and Security Team, embarking on this journey filled with knowledge and anticipation.
Upon arriving at our destination, we were greeted by an awe-inspiring sight: a grand park that sparkled like a brilliant green gem nestled in the heart of the city. At its center lay a crystal-clear lake, shimmering under the sunlight. A gentle breeze rippled across its surface, creating layers of waves that seemed to paint a dynamic picture before our eyes. Undoubtedly, this thrilling Marathon would unfold along the beautiful lakeside of this stunning park.
Following our planned itinerary, we systematically drove around key locations for thorough on-site inspections and careful studies. To ensure that the entire event would run flawlessly and smoothly, after careful consideration, we decided not only to retain the original fixed points but also to add several temporary points and two special patrol points dedicated to Water Rescue. This way, both participants and spectators would have enhanced safety measures in place.
After completing our detailed site inspections, we returned home with valuable insights. Back at Team Headquarters, everyone dove into intense pre-race discussions without taking a moment to rest. Each person actively shared their observations and suggestions regarding various points. Ultimately, through comprehensive consideration of each team member's unique skills and expertise, we successfully assigned everyone accurately to their respective roles, truly maximizing everyone's potential. With all personnel working together harmoniously, I believe this Marathon will surely achieve resounding success!
On the eve of the competition, we gathered all team members who would be participating in support tasks. Due to the tight schedule with races starting early the next morning, everyone was arranged to stay at a nearby Training Base. This night was crucial as it determined whether team members could face challenges in their best condition.
The afternoon sun was warm and gentle as we began familiarizing ourselves with key locations. Each team member diligently took notes to better understand the competition environment. Subsequently, the Medical Team swiftly conducted emergency rescue training for all personnel. The focus of this training was on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and techniques for immobilizing and bandaging Injuries. Every detail was critical; each team member had to pass strict assessments before continuing with subsequent tasks.
After long hours of preparation and training, night fell gradually. As the final batch of materials was organized, the clock struck midnight. Team members' eyelids began to droop; however, understanding the importance of rest, everyone quickly washed up and prepared for bed.
The accommodation at the base resembled an outdoor training camp with rows of neatly arranged dormitories. However, due to poor sound insulation at the base, even slight noises could be heard by everyone. Amidst everyone's drowsiness, suddenly a loud snoring sound akin to a power drill shattered the night's tranquility. Someone stepped out curiously searching for its source. Following the sound led us to discover that it came from a teammate in an adjacent room snoring away. This revelation left everyone both amused and relieved.
That night, the entire base seemed to echo with that teammate's Drill Noise. Although it disrupted the peace of night, it also created small moments of camaraderie and memories among us. Perhaps this was just a prelude before facing challenges ahead; it made us look forward even more eagerly to both the upcoming race and our team's synergy.
At 5:30 AM sharp, we struggled out of our warm beds. The early rise was necessary due to a series of important preparations awaiting us today along with essential pre-race lineup training.
As everyone gradually arrived at the meeting point, some still rubbed their sleepy eyes with evident fatigue on their faces; clearly last night's annoying Drill Noise had deprived many of restful sleep. Nevertheless, everyone put on brave faces and quickly organized their gear and state.
In the following hours leading up to 6 AM's chime, we proceeded with training in a tense yet orderly manner. At that moment, our coach began sending team members off to their designated points according to plan while leaving three or four individuals responsible for patrolling along roadsides to ensure safety and order throughout the competition area.
