On my first day on the job, I met the notorious troublemaker my boss had mentioned.
"Are you Shang Haoran?"
The man, leaning on a beautiful woman, stumbled into the house, clearly intoxicated.
He was tall, at least 6 feet tall, and standing in front of me, who was only 5 feet 5 inches, created an immediate sense of intimidation.
I stepped forward to ask about his position, but to my surprise, he suddenly laughed and said, "That's me."
"What?" I thought I must have misheard him.
"I said I'm Shang Haoran. I'm already 20 years old, sister." He deliberately emphasized the word "sister."
My worldview shattered.
Wasn't he supposed to be a rebellious troublemaker?
Who was this handsome man in a tailored suit wearing a Patek Philippe watch?
My understanding was clearly skewed.
In the next moment, he pushed me against the wall with his arm, the smell of alcohol overwhelming.
Though he was smiling, there was nothing but disdain in his eyes: "Sister, if you can't even remember my age, that's quite negligent of you."
"Or do you see me as just a kid forever?"
As he spoke, his warm breath brushed against my face, igniting an inexplicable emotion within me.
I struggled to maintain my composure: "You've had too much to drink; let me help you to rest."
But he suddenly leaned down and whispered in my ear, "Yan Chengcheng, you've got some skills. You know how to seek help from your superior."
Boom!
My scalp tingled with shock.
When I found him, he was already completely wasted thanks to Pei Jian.
Pei Jian had even slipped something into his drink.
He held Shang Haoran tightly in his arms with a smug look on his face: "Now let's see how you plan to compete with me!"
I rushed over and pulled Shang Haoran away: "He's my boss; keep your distance from him!"
Pei Jian laughed arrogantly, "Yan Chengcheng, if you want to keep your job, you better behave and pretend you didn't see anything."
I trembled with anger. "Shameless!"
Pei Jian stared at me, his gaze growing bolder. "Since you refuse my kindness, then let me serve you a punishment drink!"
As he spoke, he reached for me. I dodged and shoved the drink in his hand. "Drink it, or I'll call the police."
Pei Jian looked at the cup with a troubled expression. It was clear that the drink had been spiked.
"Not going to drink it?" I sneered. "Then I'll make you!"
I called over the bar owner and directly complained, "This man either drinks that cup or we call the police. Either way, this customer is not staying here tonight."
The bar owner frowned. He certainly didn't want to get involved. But if I didn't mind, he wouldn't either. After all, I was just a lowly worker; offending someone was no big deal for him. But Pei Jian's backer was his wealthy patron.
"Mr. Pei, please," the bar owner gestured politely. "If you don't drink this tonight, I'll have to call security to escort you out."
Pei Jian was furious but dared not voice it. However, to avoid escalating the situation, he downed the entire drink.
I supported Shang Haoran as we exited. He was completely drunk, leaning heavily against me. After a struggle, I finally got him into the car when suddenly he opened his eyes and pressed down hard on my shoulder.
I was startled and instinctively recoiled. The next moment, a warm sensation landed on my lips.
Shang Haoran kissed me!
My mind went blank.
I had never been in a relationship from childhood to now.
I grew up in a daze, not really understanding anything.
After Shang Haoran pulled away, I instinctively covered my lips with my hand.
"You..." I stammered, struggling to find my words.
But Shang Haoran suddenly wrapped his arms around my neck and kissed me again.
This time, he pried my lips apart, invading my mouth like a conqueror.
