"Good intentions treated as a donkey's liver and lungs. I was going to teach this Miss Zhao a lesson, but now it's unnecessary," Jiang Chen said, his interest waning.

"You don't need to invite her over; she'll come looking for me on her own," Jiang Chen replied with a faint smile.
Zhao Xinrong's smile froze on her face, puzzled. She never imagined that Jiang Chen actually knew Lin Rumei. After all, one was a socialite from Hong Kong Island while the other was an ordinary person from the mainland; they had no intersection. "This Miss Zhao just disrespected me; I originally wanted you to teach her a lesson, but now it's fine," Jiang Chen said.
Upon hearing Jiang Chen's words, Lin Rumei's expression turned cold. She glanced at Zhao Xinrong and said flatly, "Miss Zhao, you're really lucky today; Mr. Jiang is not holding it against you. Hurry up and leave before you become an eyesore to Mr. Jiang."
"Lin Rumei, what do you mean? Even if you know this guy, so what? Are you really going to help him teach me a lesson? Our Zhao Family's status is no less than that of your Lin family. It wouldn't benefit you to oppose me for the sake of an ordinary person," Zhao Xinrong said, initially shocked but now angered by Lin Rumei's defense of Jiang Chen.
"Don't be unappreciative," Lin Rumei frowned. Although she had no grievances with Zhao Xinrong in the past, why would she choose to offend Jiang Chen? That was courting death. Even if Jiang Chen didn't hold a grudge this time, it didn't mean he wouldn't in the future.
"Zhao Xinrong, shut up," Lin Rumei said with a darkened expression as she slapped Zhao Xinrong across the face. In truth, she was trying to save Zhao Xinrong; if things continued this way, it would surely lead to disaster. Jiang Chen was not someone who showed mercy—he could kill without blinking an eye.
