The three sat together to discuss their countermeasures. Liang Tian believed that the urgent task was to gather more clues about this mysterious organization—understanding their objectives, strength, and distribution of their bases was essential for formulating an effective strike plan. Xiao Zhan nodded in agreement and immediately arranged for his informants in the Underworld to keep an eye on any movements related to the organization.
Liang Tian decided to personally track the members of the mysterious organization to obtain more direct clues. That night, he returned to stake out near the abandoned factory. Before long, several figures in black robes emerged from the factory and stealthily made their way toward the city center. Liang Tian utilized his skills to silently follow behind them.
The black-robed individuals arrived at a secluded area of the city known for its chaotic security—Jiangnan City’s more troubled district. They entered what appeared to be an ordinary tavern. After waiting outside for a moment and ensuring no one was watching, Liang Tian employed the Invisibility Technique to slip inside.
Inside the tavern, the dim lighting was filled with a pungent mix of smoke and alcohol. Liang Tian noticed that the black-robed figures were quietly conversing with a few individuals in a corner. He crept closer, straining to listen. From their conversation, Liang Tian learned that this mysterious organization had been engaged in secret activities recently, which seemed intricately linked to the recent Missing Persons Cases in Jiangnan City.
"How is the capture of those mortals going? The higher-ups are pushing hard; the ritual is about to begin again, and we can't afford any mistakes," one black-robed figure said in a low voice.
"Don't worry; everything is under control. But recently things have been getting tight; everyone needs to be careful," another replied.
A chill ran down Liang Tian's spine as he realized that these missing persons were likely being captured by this mysterious organization for their Evil Rituals. He continued eavesdropping, trying to gather more information about their next actions—time, location, and the core base of their operations.
However, it seemed they sensed something amiss and abruptly halted their conversation. One of the black-robed figures looked around warily and shouted, "Who’s there? Come out!"
Liang Tian's heart sank as he realized he might have been discovered. Without hesitation, he quickly slipped out of the tavern. Although he hadn’t obtained all the information he wanted, confirming the connection between the mysterious organization and the Missing Persons Cases was already a significant breakthrough.
Returning to Xiao Zhan's residence, Liang Tian shared his new findings with Xiao Zhan and Chen Xue. Upon hearing this, Xiao Zhan slammed his hand on the table in anger. "These bastards! How dare they wreak havoc in Jiangnan City and harm innocent civilians!"
Chen Xue looked worried as she said, “Liang Tian, Xiao Zhan, this situation is too serious. We need to find a way to stop them as soon as possible.”
Liang Tian nodded and replied, “Chen Xue, don’t worry. I already have a preliminary plan, but I need more clues. Brother Xiao, have your informants found anything?”
Xiao Zhan shook his head and said, “Not yet, but the brothers are doing their best to gather information. I believe we’ll have news soon.”
After a moment of contemplation, Liang Tian said, “Alright, we can’t just sit back and wait. Brother Xiao, continue to have the brothers collect clues and keep an eye on the movements of the mysterious organization. I’ll find a way to investigate further and aim to locate their core base and gather more critical information. Once we have enough clues, we’ll strike hard and completely destroy this evil organization!”
Xiao Zhan and Chen Xue both nodded firmly. The three of them felt a renewed determination to fight against the forces of evil, as a battle between good and evil quietly began to unfold.
