Time flew by, and before they knew it, the year was coming to an end. Lin Wufeng had secretly taken on some work to make life a bit easier for his family. He was set to accompany a leader on a trip to Zhejiang to search for some materials.
When Lin Wufeng mentioned this to Song Ying, her heart immediately tightened with worry. She couldn't help but ask, "Is that really okay? What if you get caught?" Lin Wufeng patted her shoulder reassuringly and said, "Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. I'm doing this for us to have a better life. Just trust me."
Looking into Lin Wufeng's determined eyes, Song Ying still felt anxious but understood that he was working hard for their family. After much thought, she reluctantly nodded in support of his trip to Zhejiang, hoping he would return safely and smoothly.
As time passed quietly, Lin Dongzhe and his friends entered their second year of high school. What seemed like a peaceful life was suddenly disrupted by an unexpected turn of events.
During Lin Wufeng's trip to Zhejiang, he had someone else issue an invoice for work-related matters. He carelessly stuffed it into his pocket and accidentally left it at the factory, which led to him being caught in a compromising situation. The factory demanded his suspension. Although this incident did not result in severe consequences, it became clear that he could no longer continue working at the compressor factory.
When the Wang family next door learned of this, they looked down on Lin Dongzhe and said disdainfully, "Your dad is just a speculator." Hearing this infuriated Lin Dongzhe; his blood boiled with anger as he charged at the person and swung his fist toward their face. Lin Xiaoyu rushed over upon hearing the commotion and was shocked by the scene. Without hesitation, she joined in to help Lin Dongzhe. All she could think about was protecting him from harm amidst the chaos. Onlookers quickly intervened, exerting great effort to pull the two apart.
Fueled by anger and frustration, Lin Dongzhe and Lin Xiaoyu returned home and recounted everything to Song Ying. It was then that she realized the difficult situation Lin Wufeng was facing. Her face filled with worry and sadness; she never imagined such a thing could happen. Deeply concerned, she pondered how their family would cope with these consecutive challenges.
When Lin Wufeng returned home and saw the serious expressions on his family's faces, he knew they were already aware of what had happened at the factory. Overwhelmed with guilt and self-reproach, he quietly said, "I never intended for things to turn out this way and cause so much trouble for our family. It's my fault." Song Ying gently took his hand and replied softly, "This isn't just your fault; we are a family and will face this together."
After a moment of silence, Lin Wufeng mustered the courage to tell Song Ying, "I've made up my mind; I plan to go to Guangdong for new opportunities. I can't just give up like this; I want to provide for our family." Without hesitation, Song Ying nodded firmly and said, "I want to go with you. Wherever you go is home for me; no matter what difficulties we face, we'll bear them together."
They then called Lin Dongzhe and Lin Xiaoyu over and seriously shared their decision with them. After listening, Lin Dongzhe's eyes reflected a newfound maturity as he slowly said, "Dad, Mom, I feel like I've grown up through this experience. We will be with you wherever you go; we are a family that will never be separated." Lin Xiaoyu nodded vigorously in agreement.
