Lu Zean's parents listened intently, their eyes wide with amazement, occasionally gasping in surprise. His mother, feeling nervous, clutched the hem of her clothes tightly. After hearing everything, they couldn't stop praising him: "Our son is truly capable and hardworking; we are so proud!" His father nodded in agreement, adding, "Yes, you must remain grounded in your work and not get carried away." 0

After chatting with his parents, Lu Zean felt a fire ignite in his heart. He hurried towards the garden where he had arranged to meet Lin Xiao Yu. The garden featured a lake with crystal-clear water that sparkled like a giant mirror. Rows of willow trees lined the shore, swaying gently in the breeze, their shadows dancing on the lake's surface. It was a sight that brought joy to anyone who looked upon it. They had shared many sweet memories there in the past. 0

Lu Zean arrived early and stood beneath a large willow tree by the lake, his feet seemingly rooted to the ground. He fixed his gaze on the entrance of the garden, nervously rubbing the hem of his shirt until it wrinkled. Occasionally, he would rise onto his toes and stretch his neck long, eagerly waiting for Lin Xiao Yu to arrive. 0

Before long, Lin Xiao Yu appeared, wearing a light yellow floral dress that fluttered in the wind like a little colorful cloud. Her hair was tousled by the breeze, with a few strands sticking to her flushed cheeks. Lu Zean was captivated; his face turned bright red. 0

"Have you been waiting long?" Lin Xiao Yu called out cheerfully. Lu Zean snapped back to reality and rushed over to her, taking her hands tightly in his own with a beaming smile and sparkling eyes. "Oh, I finally get to see you! I've been thinking about you every day these past few days; nothing felt right without you." 0

Lin Xiao Yu's cheeks flushed even more as she playfully punched him lightly on the chest. "You always know how to say sweet things; your words are like honey." 0

The two strolled slowly along the lakeside, their hands intertwined tightly as neither wanted to let go. Lu Zean opened up about his experiences in Fujian, describing how lively the street food stalls were, with fish balls bubbling in pots and meat dumplings steaming up while vendors shouted in their thick dialects. "One time," he recounted, "my friends and I went to restock supplies and encountered a particularly tough wholesaler. We spent hours trying to negotiate a better price; my mouth was almost worn out! He just wouldn’t budge. Thankfully, after much persistence, we finally settled on a satisfactory price. I still feel anxious just thinking about it." He animatedly gestured as he spoke. 0

Lin Xiao Yu listened with wide eyes, laughing heartily at times until she could barely stand up straight and then gripping Lu Zean's arm tightly when she felt anxious. "What happened next? How was the quality of the goods?" 0

Reaching a bench by the lake, Lu Zean pulled Lin Xiao Yu down to sit beside him. He took out a small box from his pocket and opened it to reveal a shell bracelet that shimmered under the sun—quite beautiful indeed. His face turned crimson as he felt slightly shy but filled with anticipation as he handed it to Lin Xiao Yu. "I saw this bracelet in Fujian and thought it would look perfect on you. When you wear it, it’ll be like I’m right there beside you." 0

Lin Xiao Yu's eyes lit up with surprise as she covered her mouth with her hand delicately while accepting it. After putting it on and shaking her wrist gently, she looked up at Lu Zean with glistening eyes filled with emotion. "It’s so beautiful! How are you so thoughtful?" 0

After sharing a meaningful glance without saying anything further, they stood up and embraced tightly. Lin Xiao Yu buried her head in Lu Zean's chest, wrapping her arms around his waist with all her strength as if trying to merge all her longing from these days into that moment. Her body trembled slightly as she spoke in a choked voice: "It’s been so hard without you here; I worry about you suffering outside." 0

Lu Zean held her close too, resting his chin atop her head while gently patting her back. "I've been busy outside but thinking of you warms my heart. From now on, we won't be apart for so long again; I want to be by your side." 0

After holding each other for quite some time, they finally loosened their embrace slightly. Lu Zean lifted his hand to gently wipe away the tears from Lin Xiao Yu's eyes, caressing her face tenderly with soft eyes full of affection. Lin Xiao Yu smiled through her tears and pulled him over to the lakeside again. She bent down to pick up a flat stone and handed it to Lu Zean: "You used to be great at skipping stones; show me your skills again!" 0

Lu Zean accepted it with a smile and turned sideways before swinging his arm back; the stone skipped across the lake's surface with loud splashes while Lin Xiao Yu clapped excitedly beside him, laughing joyfully. 0

Feeling tired from playing, they lay side by side on the grass, gazing up at the blue sky as clouds drifted lazily by. Lin Xiao Yu pointed at one cloud and said: "Look at that cloud; doesn’t it resemble our future home? Warm and cozy." 0

Lu Zean held her hand tightly in response: "As long as we’re together, no matter where we are, it will always feel like home." In that garden filled with love for each other, they both cherished their dreams of a sweet future together until old age. 0
