Before long, Lin Dongzhe rushed back with a pregnancy test in hand, urgency written all over his face. Xiao Ting entered the bathroom with a mix of anxiety and anticipation, while Lin Dongzhe paced outside, murmuring reassurances: "Baby, don’t worry. No matter what, I’m here for you." Moments later, Xiao Ting emerged from the bathroom holding the test, her expression a complex blend of surprise and joy.
Lin Dongzhe hurried over and, upon seeing the two clear lines on the test, froze for a moment before breaking into an incredibly bright smile. "Xiao Ting, we’re going to have a baby! I’m going to be a dad!" He excitedly pulled her into a tight embrace, as if he were holding the most precious treasure in the world. Then, he quickly dialed Lin Xiao Yu’s number, his voice bubbling with uncontainable joy. "Lin Xiao Yu, guess what? Xiao Ting is pregnant! I’m so happy I don’t even know what to do!"
When Lin Xiao Yu received the call, she was at home sorting through clothes. Known for her calm and serious demeanor, she was genuinely surprised by the news. She hadn’t expected Lin Dongzhe and Xiao Ting to welcome new life so soon. She quickly offered her heartfelt congratulations over the phone: "Oh my goodness, that’s wonderful! Congratulations to both of you!" However, after hanging up, a subtle worry crossed her face. Although she and Lu Zean had been married for some time now, there was still no sign of a baby. Watching her friends embark on their journeys into parenthood left her feeling anxious and somewhat disheartened.
Noticing Lin Xiao Yu’s pensive expression, Lu Zean approached her and asked gently, "Darling, what’s wrong? Is something bothering you?" With a sigh, she replied, "Lin Dongzhe just told me that Xiao Ting is pregnant. We’ve been married for a while now too, but why haven’t we heard any news?"
Lu Zean chuckled as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. "Looks like you think I’m not up to the task! Today I’ll show you what I can do. Don’t worry; we’ve only just gotten married. There’s no rush." Lin Xiao Yu felt her cheeks flush slightly at his teasing and playfully punched him on the arm. "You always joke around; this is serious!"
Lu Zean’s smile faded as he looked deeply into her eyes. "I know this is important, but we can’t rush it. Let’s take it naturally; who knows? Maybe our baby will come along soon." Lin Xiao Yu nodded slightly, feeling somewhat reassured by his comforting words.
Seeing the lingering worry on her face filled Lu Zean with tenderness. He leaned in closer and wrapped his strong arms around her waist, pulling her gently into his embrace. "Darling, don’t frown like that," he whispered in her ear, his voice carrying a charming magnetism.
Lin Xiao Yu sighed softly. "But seeing everyone else having babies makes me feel uneasy."
Lu Zean loosened his hold slightly and cupped her face in his hands, gazing intently into her deep eyes. "Then I’ll work hard to make sure you have something to celebrate." With that, he suddenly lifted Lin Xiao Yu off the ground and strode toward their bedroom.
Startled and embarrassed, she playfully pounded her fists against his chest. "What are you doing? It’s broad daylight!"
With a mischievous grin spreading across his face, Lu Zean replied, "Of course we’re going to have some fun! Who knows? Our baby might arrive sooner than we think."
As soon as they entered the bedroom, Lu Zean gently laid Lin Xiao Yu down on the bed and positioned himself above her, eagerly seeking out her lips with his own. His kiss was passionate and tender as it traveled from her forehead down to her eyes and nose before finally resting on her soft lips. Initially hesitant, Lin Xiao Yu gradually succumbed to his fervor and instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
