Lu Ya had already burrowed into the grass to look for bait, while Shi Ye and Air Force had set up their fishing spot. However, they weren't in a hurry to cast their lines; after the commotion earlier, the fish in the water had likely been scared away. 0

The two stood behind Shi Tian, smoking and chatting as they watched him struggle with his setup. They weren't rushing to bait their hooks just yet; they planned to wait for over half an hour to allow the fish to return to their spots before starting. 0

"Your casting technique is all wrong. Hold the rod properly, grip the lead weight with your left hand, pull it back, and then push it forward," Air Force instructed as he watched Shi Tian swing his three-meter rod like a whip. Shi Ye quickly moved aside, worried about getting hooked. 0

Ideally, Shi Tian should have been gripping the line while casting, but Air Force was concerned that he might accidentally hook himself, so he advised him to hold the lead weight instead. 0

For a novice entering the fishing world, there was so much to learn—from tying lines and preparing bait to finding fishing spots and observing fish behavior. As a fisherman's skills improved, they often found that catching fish became increasingly challenging. 0

Glancing back at Air Force, Shi Tian was about to lift his rod for another cast when he felt something tugging on the line. He had a bite! It seemed like a decent-sized fish! Noticing how much the rod was bending, Shi Ye quickly turned around and assembled the landing net. 0

"Easy now, don’t use brute force, and don’t push the rod out too far. Use its elasticity to tire out the fish!" Seeing that Shi Tian had hooked a fish, Air Force hurried over to guide him on how to reel it in. 0

The three-meter rod provided a good feel for reeling in fish. Listening to the sound of water splashing as the line cut through it made Shi Tian's heart race with excitement. 0

A few minutes later, as a carp weighing over three pounds landed in Shi Ye's net, Shi Tian felt exhilarated. 0

"Not bad! A three-pound carp! We can keep this one!" With that, Shi Ye opened a cooler and tossed the fish inside before casually placing it on Shi Tian's fishing table. 0

Watching Shi Tian cast again, both men exchanged knowing smiles and returned to their own fishing spots. 0

Catching such a large carp on his first outing made Shi Tian feel confident that he could make a living from fishing in the future. This carp would be perfect for sweet and sour fish! With his skills, he could easily charge eighty-eight for each dish. If he caught ten each day, he'd be well on his way to prosperity! 0

The best part was that it required very little investment! He caught the fish himself and cooked it himself; all he needed were some seasonings and side dishes, which wouldn’t cost much at all—what a windfall! 0

Just as Shi Tian was lost in dreams of wealth, he noticed his float rising higher and higher until it finally lay flat on the water's surface. 0

What was going on? Had the bait been taken? Confused, Shi Tian quickly lifted his rod to change to worms; he had to catch that cunning fish. 0

As soon as he lifted the rod, he felt a weight pulling down again—he had another bite! This one felt lighter than the last; he could tell from the resistance on the rod. Shi Ye and Air Force had already returned to their own spots to fish; this one would be all his! 0

Seeing Shi Tian awkwardly stirring the net in the water, Air Force couldn't help but curse under his breath: "Damn it, another one! Is the fishing really this good?" 0

The fish surfaced—a bighead carp—larger than Shi Tian's hand and weighing about a pound or more. 0

Throwing the hook into the water, Shi Tian couldn't help but start calculating. A bowl of milk soup Carp should cost at least eighty-eight; one fish seemed a bit too few, and another would be just about right. 0

Shi Tian, having spent little time in the south, was unfamiliar with the local market and didn't realize that this type of fish could be sold by the bowl. He instinctively calculated based on the northern pricing by the pot. 0

One fish after another was caught, while Shi Ye and Air Force were feeling quite miserable. They had been waiting for a whole hour, one was Piao Bu Dong, and the other Hu Bu Shi. The two stared at each other, their eyes wide with countless questions. 0

"Xiao Tian, what bait are you using?" Finally, Air Force couldn't hold back any longer and ran over to ask Shi Tian from behind. 0

For an hour, the Rod had been switched from seven meters to three meters. On one Fishing Platform, two or three Rods were set up, yet none of them moved. 0

"It's just the earthworms we dug up while setting up camp! Want some? I still have plenty!" Shi Tian replied without turning his head as he focused on the Float. 0

His little ledger had already accumulated over a thousand catches. No wonder so many people loved fishing; it turned out to be quite a lucrative business! 0

"Alright, I'll take some. The fish in this lake haven't eaten fine bait; ordinary Fish Bait won't work!" Seeing how focused Shi Tian was on fishing, Air Force decided not to disturb him further. He took a dozen earthworms for himself and then turned to share a few with Shi Ye. 0

As the sky brightened and the sun rose, Piao Bu Dong remained Piao Bu Dong, and Hu Bu Shi still couldn't catch anything. The two were feeling increasingly frustrated with their fishing luck. 0

Lu Ya returned, and from his soaked clothes, it was clear he had probably walked halfway around the lake. Compared to Shi Ye and Air Force, Lu Ya had done considerably better, catching several one-pound Qiao Zui and even a sizable Giant Catfish. 0

He tossed the fish into Shi Tian's Yu Hu and lifted it to take a look. "Not bad! You've really got a haul here! It seems there’s quite a density of fish in this lake!" 0

Shi Tian knew that this lake was meant for their enjoyment, and there were principles involved; after Xiao Yu caught any fish, they all went back into the water. Apart from ten or so palm-sized Carp, all other fish in his Yu Hu weighed over a pound. 0

Hearing Lu Ya's words made Shi Ye and Air Force blush; they hadn’t even caught anything yet! 0

"This fish is easy to catch; just throw it in and they rush to eat!" Glancing back at Lu Ya, Shi Tian chuckled. 0

As Lu Ya placed Shi Tian's Yu Hu back into the water, he turned towards Air Force's side. "What about your Yu Hu? Did you throw all your caught fish into Xiao Tian's Yu Hu?" After circling around Air Force's Fishing Platform and not seeing his Yu Hu anywhere, Lu Ya curiously asked. 0

Looking back at Lu Ya, Air Force simply lifted his Rod, stood up to stretch lazily, and offered Lu Ya a cigarette. "How did you do? Caught any?" 0

"Not bad; mostly Qiao Zui. I also caught a Giant Catfish for Xiao Tian's Yu Hu." Taking a puff of his cigarette, Lu Ya continued, "The Qiao Zui in this lake are quite decent-sized; some are around one or two pounds." 0
