In the northern part of Liudao Bay, there was a small town. This town was not large, but it was a necessary stop for those heading to Liudao Bay for fishing, and it was not far from the city.
When the typhoon approached, Shi Tian stayed indoors, keeping an eye on the surrounding houses. After a week of selflessly delivering warmth to the community, the funds in his Fishing Box had already surged to over twenty thousand, and it was rising at a visible rate.
Even with the typhoon coming, it could not dampen the enthusiasm of the fishermen. Although sea fishing was impossible during a typhoon, did that mean they couldn’t fish in the river? The stronger the wind, the more valuable the fish became. As long as the typhoon hadn’t made landfall, they wouldn’t stop using their rods. With strong winds, the oxygen levels in the water increased, making fish more active and easier to catch!
Since earning over a thousand from Scallions and Ginger last time, Shi Tian had become generous with his Fish Hooks, giving away complete sets of Sleeve Hooks, Ise Nii, Qian You, and Izu without hesitation.
The rent in Anyou Town was not high. In the southernmost part of the town, Shi Tian found a nice storefront. Although it was only forty square meters, its location was perfect—just across the street from the sea. He could buy Fishing Gear here and cast his line right away!
With an additional second floor, the monthly rent was four thousand, payable annually. This was within Shi Tian's budget! He had passed by this house more than once and knew that if he wanted to open a store here, it would need some renovations.
With nearly ten thousand in annual rent plus renovations, he estimated that around eighty thousand would be needed. To open a store, he also needed to stock up on supplies—Live Shrimp, Sandworms, and earthworms were essential, along with various baits!
To get his store up and running, Shi Tian roughly calculated that he would need between one hundred thousand to one hundred fifty thousand in total. Everything was ready; he just needed to secure funding!
He wasn’t in a hurry about the house. Without money in hand, there was no point in rushing. Before renting a place, he needed to sort out his supply chain.
Diving into his garage, he drove out in his Mini Cooper. A gust of wind nearly flipped him over as he quickly turned back into the underground garage!
For these next few days, going out would be impossible. Back in his room, he continued browsing his phone to familiarize himself with several Fishing Gear markets in Sanya.
Since Shi Tian couldn’t go out, Shi Ye and their grandfather were also stuck indoors. Just as Shi Tian was still figuring out the Fishing Gear market, Shi Ye drove their off-road vehicle over with their grandfather and some ingredients for dinner.
"The typhoon is coming; have you locked your windows? Don’t go out this week; have you prepared food at home?" As soon as they got upstairs and tossed the ingredients into the kitchen, Shi Ye turned to Shi Tian and asked.
Shi Tian was from the north but had never experienced a typhoon before; he had no experience in this regard.
"I don’t know! Since moving here, I’ve always lived on the third floor and haven’t been to other floors," he replied. "I’ll go check now!" Shi Ye hadn’t expected there would be so many precautions during typhoon weather.
The group hurriedly checked all the windows on the third floor and moved everything from the balcony inside before heading to work in the yard and other floors.
By the time they finished gathering everything up, their grandfather had already set up drinks in the living room and was just waiting for Shi Tian to cook.
After quickly frying a few dishes and downing three cups of wine, Shi Ye spoke up: "Next month we’re going on a trip. You shouldn’t spend all your time fishing; when you have time, keep an eye on things at the hotel up front and help handle some matters. I’ll find someone to guide you!"
This trip would take at least a few months before they returned. During this time, Shi Ye didn’t want Shi Tian wandering around aimlessly. While Shi Tian could roam freely near Sanya without causing much trouble due to his nature—he could easily handle things—once Shi Ye left for this trip, he wouldn’t feel as secure letting Shi Tian loose again. The hotel wouldn’t be under Shi Tian’s management; bringing him in was partly to help him learn something but also to keep him occupied.
Shi Tian had decided to open a Fishing Tackle Shop, despite the initial hesitation. The hotel had always been well-managed, and now he had chosen a location in Anyou Town, ready to sign the lease once the typhoon passed.
When the others heard about Shi Tian's plan, they were momentarily taken aback. Opening a Fishing Tackle Shop seemed like a good idea; it would keep him grounded and allow Shi Ye to feel more at ease. Regardless of how profitable the shop would be, it would at least provide Shi Tian with opportunities to interact with various people, which would be beneficial for his character.
"You're opening a Fishing Tackle Shop? How's my custom Rod coming along? We should have some progress on the Trademark by the time we set off!" Shi Ye was focused on how to arrange things for Shi Tian, while Air Force was preoccupied with his custom Fishing Rod.
If he could take the custom Fishing Rod with him before their departure, the trip to Africa wouldn't feel so dull! Ever since he got Shi Tian's Fishing Rod, those thousands of ordinary Fishing Rods suddenly lost their appeal.
As Air Force mentioned the Fishing Rod, Shi Tian stood up and headed down to the garage. The Rare Metals had arrived a couple of days ago, and with the materials in hand, Shi Tian immediately ordered a Seven Point Two Chang Gan. He wanted to see what distinguished this High-End Fishing Rod from an Ordinary Fishing Rod.
The moment he held the High-End Fishing Rod, Shi Tian could tell the difference! Compared to an ordinary Fishing Rod, it was lighter and felt more refined. The sensitivity was remarkable; when paired with the Fishing Box's Finished Line Set, he could actually feel the vibrations when a fish bit the hook—an almost magical experience!
Shi Tian hadn’t had much chance to use his Seven Point Two Rod; most of his time was spent either delivering warmth or dealing with Bai Tiao—when would he find time for fishing big fish?
He retrieved the Fishing Rod from the trunk of his car and went upstairs to present it to Air Force. "Take a look at this sample; it's packed with high-tech features that let you feel the vibrations when a fish bites!"
As Air Force took the Fishing Rod from Shi Tian's hands, he barely had time to appreciate it before it slipped into Shi Ye's grasp.
In terms of appearance, this Rod didn't differ much from the Seven Point Two Rod that Shi Ye had previously claimed. However, upon closer inspection and as light shifted across its surface, this Rod revealed unique qualities that made it appear more rustic and substantial than its predecessor.
