The fish were coming up, and the three of them were no longer just watching the excitement. Air Force came over with a spear gun, took a glance at the fish in the water, and went back to swap it for a net.
Seeing this, Shi Ye and Lu Ya shook their heads and returned to their fishing spot to continue enticing the fish. Catching fish with a net surely wouldn’t be anything significant. Air Force returning to switch from a spear gun to a net meant that the fish couldn’t weigh more than fifty pounds!
With the net in the water, Air Force pulled the fish onto the deck. After a few minutes of struggling, he removed the fish hook and bled the fish out in front of Shi Tian before weighing it and tossing it into the ice chamber. It was a Yellowfin Tuna.
Once everything was done, Air Force turned back with a playful glint in his eyes and said to Shi Tian, "Is this really the hundred-pound giant fish you mentioned? Why does it only weigh thirty-six pounds on the scale?"
Shi Tian was somewhat dumbfounded when the fish came up. This fish wasn’t much different from the one Air Force had caught, which weighed thirty-four pounds, so this one surely wouldn’t exceed forty pounds either. Shi Tian knew that tuna were strong, but he hadn’t expected one weighing less than forty pounds would give him such a hard time! It took him nearly an hour to reel it in, and even after Air Force netted it onto the deck, it flopped around for quite some time before settling down.
"How much? Thirty-six pounds? That’s two pounds heavier than the one you caught!"
Air Force remarked.
Shi Ye and Lu Ya had indeed caught quite a few fish, but only one of them was worth showing off—a Zhang Hong. In terms of value, that Zhang Hong was definitely worth more than Shi Tian’s tuna, but they had come to catch tuna, and now it seemed like he was in the same boat as Shi Ye without any luck!
With one fish caught, Shi Tian decided not to cast again for now. He needed to rest and massage his arms; otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to lift them tomorrow.
After struggling for most of the night, everyone was exhausted but had made some catches. Since fishing slowed down at midnight, Shi Ye and Lu Ya packed up their rods and went inside to sleep.
Shi Tian managed to hook another fish that was even bigger than his last catch. However, after exerting tremendous effort to drag it to the side of the boat, it dove straight down into the depths. Before Air Force could start up the boat, the line snapped, leaving Shi Tian feeling frustrated.
Fortunately, Air Force had warned him that when fishing for tuna, line breaks and rod explosions were common occurrences; if he hadn’t experienced any breakage yet, he must have been lucky!
Air Force urged Shi Tian back to get some sleep. The best time for catching tuna was at six in the morning; if he went to bed now, he could still get three or four hours of rest to recharge for an intense morning session!
As everyone rested, Air Force sat on deck smoking a couple of cigarettes. After calculating the time, he noticed that they were all likely asleep. He slipped into the cockpit, and three hours later, Air Force's boat appeared at Small Pier in the villa area.
He wanted Shi Tian to rest because he needed him to take his yacht driving test. As for Shi Ye and Lu Ya, Air Force didn’t want to disturb them; if those two spoiled his plans, there would be no one left to take over as captain!
At seven in the morning, Air Force dragged Shi Tian out of bed and onto land before getting him into a car. Still half-asleep, Shi Tian opened his eyes as they arrived at downtown Haishi.
"Grab your ID; I’ve already made arrangements. Just go through the process!" Air Force pushed Shi Tian out of the car where someone was already waiting for him. After exchanging a few words with that person, Shi Tian was led into the examination hall.
Taking a yacht driving test wasn’t much different from taking a car driving test; if there was any difference at all, it was that there were only two subjects: Subject One and Subject Two. Subject One posed no challenge for Shi Tian; those few books weren’t difficult for him—he could score a hundred with ease!
Subject Two was trickier. Relying solely on what Air Force had taught him wouldn’t be enough to pass. Luckily, Air Force had made arrangements; he just needed to stand on the exam boat for a while and go through the motions—moving forward and backward while honking—and just like that, his driving license was secured!
Shi Tian thought that obtaining a yacht driving license was something prestigious, but after checking online, he realized that it was much easier to obtain than a car driving license. In places like Qingdao and Sanya, it could be done in just fifteen days from registration to receiving the certificate.
Air Force's approach was akin to skipping the driving school process for a car license and going straight to the exam. This method wasn't unreasonable; as long as one could pass the test, the license would be valid and legal—there was no requirement to undergo training at a driving school!
Since the boat was large, there were different types of yacht licenses: one for operating at sea and another for inland rivers. These two licenses were not interchangeable. The distinction lay in the size of the vessel—boats under twenty meters versus those over twenty meters. The Air Force vessel certainly exceeded twenty meters, so only a proper license could allow its operation.
Lastly, there were distinctions based on boat types. A license allowed for operating yachts, while another type could operate sailboats. For Air Force and Shi Tian, this distinction wasn't significant.
However, obtaining a license had become more challenging recently; most were only issuing licenses now. It seemed that Air Force had some influence and managed to expedite the process for him.
When Shi Tian exited the Maritime Hall, he found Air Force already snoring in the backseat of the car. Not wanting to wake him, Shi Tian simply turned the car around and headed toward their villa, hoping they might still make it in time for dinner!
The Fishing Tackle Shop had been renovated but couldn't open for business yet. After returning from the sea, Shi Tian checked his Points and realized that customizing four sets of Fishing Rods for his friends was feasible. However, adding Sea Fishing Rods would require far more Points than he had.
Sea Fishing Rods weren't cheap, and Wheel components were even pricier. A small Electric Reel cost two thousand Points, while a larger Electric Reel like the one on Air Force's boat would require tens of thousands of Points. Even with special materials provided, it was beyond what he could afford with his current Points.
Shi Ye and his group were heading to Africa, and it was certain that the old man would return to Beijing. They only had six days before their departure, so he needed to finalize the Customized Rods quickly.
After spending over three thousand on special materials, he aimed to complete the four customized Fishing Rods first. As for the Sea Fishing Rods, he would have to wait until he accumulated enough Points and funds before arranging for someone to bring them over.
It had been several days since he last delivered warmth; his Points accumulation had noticeably slowed down. He needed to deliver warmth soon; otherwise, stocking up for the Fishing Tackle Shop would become a major issue!
After breakfast, he took a stroll around the Fishing Tackle Shop. Although it looked great post-renovation, the shelves were completely empty—nothing was available.
He went to the supermarket and bought a thousand small self-sealing bags. He packaged over two hundred sets of Pin Gou that he had prepared last night; this was his task for the day.
Driving his Mini Cooper with navigation on, he made his way along various rivers. Regardless of whether he had delivered warmth in those areas before, he intended to cover them all again. After visiting several rivers, he finally completed delivering two hundred sets of Fish Hooks just before nightfall.
With each set containing one fish hook, that meant two hundred Points earned—much easier than his previous Chou Tiao tasks since this offered long-term benefits!
