Shi Tian had considered placing the mountain spring on the back of the mountain and then piping the water into his villa, creating a small pond inside. However, he felt it would be a waste to let so much spring water go unused.
"Jianren Lake? That needs flowing water; otherwise, it will turn into a stinking ditch in no time, and then we’ll just be breeding mosquitoes," Shi Ye said helplessly, glancing at Shi Tian.
He had thought about creating Ren Lake, but it wasn't that easy. There were no water sources nearby, and bringing water from Xinyue Lake would require crossing a ridge. It wouldn't make sense to set up a pump that would run day and night!
Shi Tian shot Shi Ye a look and pretended to be profound as he said, "This mountain stretches for more than ten miles, and the water veins converge here before flowing into the sea. From a feng shui perspective, there must be springs on this mountain, and they should have a considerable flow!"
With that, Shi Tian stood up and asked, "Do we have an Electric Hammer with a hole-opening function? Get someone to find one and bring a large Outdoor Power Supply. I’ll go get a compass; we’re going up the mountain to find the water veins!"
He had thought about the mountain spring all night yesterday, and since Shi Ye hadn't left yet, he needed to secure the spring as soon as possible.
With the meager profits from the Fishing Tackle Shop, it would take months of saving without eating or drinking to pipe spring water from the mountain into his villa—time he couldn't afford to waste!
Shi Tian's determination to find the spring left the three of them exchanging glances. However, when they saw him seriously coming down from upstairs with a compass in hand, they were genuinely curious about what he was planning.
After having someone deliver the Electric Hammer and fetching the Outdoor Power Supply, while it was still light outside, Shi Tian led the group up the mountain.
They ascended from the west side of the villa area, clearing paths while climbing higher and occasionally pretending to check the compass in his hand.
After climbing several dozen meters higher than Xinyue Lake's elevation, Shi Tian casually marked an X on a stone wall over a meter high in the valley: "The water vein node is right here. Bring over the Electric Hammer; we need to drill half a meter deep!"
The spring didn’t necessarily have to be set up on the ground; surface water was dirty, and various small animals would gather around. If they came by for a drink and he diverted that water home, would he really want to brew tea with it?
"Xiao Tian, are you out of your mind? This is granite! Granite layers don’t have water!" Lu Ya questioned skeptically upon seeing Shi Tian's marked stone.
Granite was notoriously tough, and the chances of finding water in such rock layers were slim.
If it had been Sha Yan, Lu Ya would have unhesitatingly carried the Electric Hammer up without question. But since Shi Tian chose granite, Lu Ya found himself at a loss for words.
"The end of science is metaphysics; let’s get started! If we wait any longer, it will be dark!" Lu Ya took back the Electric Hammer from Shi Tian's shoulder, connected it to the Outdoor Power Supply, but Shi Tian didn’t expect these three to help much; he decided to start working himself!
However, Shi Tian was ultimately stopped by Lu Ya.
"Xiao Tian, you won’t be able to drill through granite with that drill bit; don’t waste your energy! Wait here; I’ll make a call and have them send over an Alloy drill bit! You can’t expect to drill half a meter deep with just this Electric Hammer; we’ll probably end up having our dinner at midnight!"
With that said, Lu Ya turned around to make his call.
Since they hadn’t completely finished at Xinyue Lake and their equipment hadn’t been taken away yet, asking them to bring over more gear wouldn’t be too much trouble. It wouldn’t take long—half an hour at most—otherwise he wouldn’t be here messing around with Shi Tian!
Lu Ya called in professionals while Shi Tian naturally wouldn’t attempt something foolish like trying to tackle granite with just an Electric Hammer!
Granite was known for its hardness in the rock world; drilling into it required specialized bits. Shi Tian thought it best not to try using a standard drill bit meant for air conditioning installation on granite!
Less than twenty minutes after Lu Ya hung up his phone, three or four people arrived carrying machinery. Looking at their equipment compared to his small Electric Hammer made Shi Tian shake his head; they weren’t even in the same league!
As soon as the professional equipment was set up, the effect was explosive. When the machine started, the four of them quickly covered their ears and retreated to a spot ten meters away.
The drill pressed against the granite, and as it began to bore, dust filled the air, prompting the four to instinctively back away another twenty meters. Shi Tian couldn't help but regret why he had insisted on targeting this piece of granite.
This mountain was certainly not primarily composed of granite; it should be dominated by shale instead. Shale is relatively soft, and if it produced spring water, it would mean a steady flow. Shi Tian feared that over time, the water might wash away the shale, which is why he opted for this seemingly sturdier rock.
In the end, he had to pay for his choice; before the spring water was even fully operational, he was already covered in mosquito bites. Watching the professionals toil for nearly half an hour to create a hole just one and a half meters deep, Shi Tian couldn't help but admire the hardness of this rock!
Once the hole was drilled, the professionals withdrew. Shi Tian approached with a compass in hand and, taking advantage of the darkness, placed a palm-sized spring water source into the hole. He pressed down on the setup button at the bottom of the hole.
With a vibration in his hand, just two minutes later, Shi Tian felt a hint of moisture between his fingers. The spring water would take a few days to fully form; the longer it took, the greater the flow would be. To completely set up the spring would take at least fifteen to twenty days.
However, he wasn't in a rush; as long as there was water and it could be seen increasing in flow, that was enough! After another hour of work, water began to flow out of the hole. Although it wasn't gushing out like a leaky faucet yet, it at least proved that his spring was successful.
