Drilling a hole in the granite revealed a mountain spring. This move by Shi Tian managed to impress the three of them.
After waiting until the phone ran out of battery, they noticed that the flow of the spring had significantly increased since the initial drilling. From dampness to dripping, and now to a steady stream, it took less than two minutes to collect a bottle of spring water, which delighted Shi Ye immensely.
"I'll find someone to channel the spring water down here and dig two large Artificial Lakes in the villa area. With this spring water, the villas will be worth even more!"
Although he claimed they would be worth more, Shi Ye wasn't in a hurry to sell any of the villas in the area. Besides Shi Tian's villa, both Air Force and Lu Ya owned one each as well; none of the other houses were for sale. They were either being used as hotels or left idle, showing no intention of selling.
Shi Tian wasn't concerned about their value; he was more focused on bringing the spring water into his home and creating an Artificial Lake. When he heard Shi Ye mention planning an Artificial Lake in the villa area, he quickly interjected, "If a Large Artificial Lake is being built, I also need a Small Artificial Lake in my yard. Please have someone dig one for me!"
In addition to the Artificial Lake, it would be best to bury a water pipe from the mountain to bring Mountain Spring Water into his yard for tea. While channels are good, they aren't always sanitary; using a water pipe would be much more reassuring!
At this point, Shi Tian recalled some information mentioned in "Yang Zhai San Yao" and quickly advised: "There should be water behind the house and graves in front; otherwise, it leads to family ruin."
The channel should enter the villa area from the northwest and shouldn't be straight; it should meander instead. The Artificial Lake shouldn't be built behind the villa either; planting some trees along the lake would help block any negative energy!
Having water behind the house is generally considered bad feng shui, often leading to financial loss and lack of heirs. A winding little river could transform misfortune into fortune by attracting wealth, but that's quite rare.
Shi Tian's requirements weren't high; he just wanted to get spring water into his small yard. As for anything else, he didn't have many demands.
Hearing Shi Tian's request, Shi Ye rolled his eyes at him: "With your little yard, you want an Artificial Lake? At most, we can dig a Xiao Yu pond; it wouldn't even count as a proper pond! An excavator could handle it in just a few scoops!"
Shi Tian didn't mind Shi Ye's disdain. It was clear that Shi Ye agreed to help him dig an Artificial Lake in his yard, so that was fine by him.
Water in front of the door isn't necessarily good fortune; having mountains behind can bring disaster—this is an old saying that shouldn't be taken too literally.
Water in front refers not to rivers but rather to stagnant pools. Stagnant water attracts mosquitoes and spreads diseases; looking at it this way makes sense.
The same reasoning applies to mountains behind a house. Mountains can hide people; if there are mountains behind your house, safety isn't guaranteed. Besides hiding people, there are wild beasts and potential geological hazards involved—so this concern is quite valid.
In front of Shi Tian's house was a large swimming pool filled with clean but stagnant water. While it didn't breed mosquitoes, once the spring water flowed into his home, Shi Tian planned to connect a pipe to fill the pool with fresh water, turning it into flowing water.
Though the flow from a single pipe might not be strong, it would keep the pool's water fresh and help cool it down, making it much more comfortable.
Late at night, Shi Ye had someone deliver the planning map for the villa area. He dragged Air Force and Lu Ya along to busy themselves selecting locations for the Artificial Lake while Shi Tian was sent off to cook dinner; after all their fussing around all night, they were starving.
When dinner was served, their plans still hadn't taken shape; ultimately, they had no choice but to leave it to professionals.
Shi Tian was set to travel to Africa soon—this matter couldn't be postponed. As for planning the Artificial Lake within the villa area, all they needed was for a professional team to provide a Blueprint for Shi Tian's review and confirmation; they simply didn't have time for further deliberation.
After finishing up with dinner and just as it hit the table, Air Force tossed a key at Shi Tian and said: "This is the key to Mini Air Force. When you have free time, you can take it out for fishing on the sea and practice your driving skills."
"I've parked the yacht at the dock in front of the hotel. If there's a typhoon coming, take it over to Yacht Dock where there are measures against storms!"
Last time they went out on sea, they were aboard Air Force—a much larger vessel than Mini Air Force—making its fuel consumption and operation considerably more complex.
Playing in the nearshore waters is definitely more enjoyable on a small yacht. Even for fishing at Nan You, the Mini Air Force is more than capable. The last time I drove the Air Force, it was mainly because I was worried that Shi Tian would get seasick. In the future, I plan to have Shi Tian help us navigate; for now, I’ll leave him a small boat to get accustomed to the feeling of the sea breeze, making it easier for him to handle later on.
Shi Tian had never seen the Mini Air Force before, but he had heard about it from the Air Force. It’s a thirteen-meter Mini Fishing Boat. The boat isn’t large, and there aren’t many fishing spots; it can accommodate up to six people at most. If there are more, they would have to stand at the bow or sides of the boat.
As Shi Tian looked at the keys thrown over by the Air Force, he felt a bit conflicted. Going out for sea fishing is quite thrilling, but with his current financial situation, it’s still a bit burdensome. A round trip out to sea would cost at least two or three thousand yuan in fuel costs alone. Adding in ice and fish bait, just a couple of days out could easily rack up nearly a thousand yuan in expenses—enough to cover a month’s salary for an employee.
But if he didn’t take the keys, what if one day he earned enough points to exchange for sea fishing equipment? Without a boat, he wouldn’t be able to go out at all. Even if he teamed up with others to rent a fishing boat, just the shipping fee would be around four thousand yuan.
"Is there still fuel on the boat?" He asked seriously as he held up the keys.
"Get lost!" Shi Ye slapped him on the back of his head; this kid was embarrassing him too much.
This trip to Africa won’t last long; he should be back before Spring Festival for a while! I’ve already spoken with the hotel about it. If there are any decisions that need to be made, they will consult you. Just keep an eye on things!
What Shi Ye meant by "keeping an eye" was likely regarding the Artificial Lake project since he didn’t understand hotel management and there were dedicated managers responsible for overseeing operations at both the hotel and villa.
The next morning, before dawn, Shi Ye dragged him out of bed. The four of them went up to check on the mountain spring; the water flow was already significantly stronger than that from a faucet.
After drinking from the spring, they headed down the mountain. Shi Tian drove three of them to the airport, finally freeing himself!
Once outside the airport and looking at the bank card that Shi Ye had tossed him as he left, Shi Tian smiled and tucked it into his pocket. He was now also a person with assets and wouldn’t rely on Shi Ye’s money anymore. If he managed his Fishing Tackle Shop well, he should be able to make ends meet without any issues! If he couldn’t even manage that, then his life would truly be a failure!
Returning to Anhe Town, things were already bustling in town. After buying ingredients for lunch at the market and carrying a basket of Xiao Long Bao, Shi Tian returned to his Fishing Tackle Shop. The first thing he did was post the recruitment notice online that he had prepared earlier.
Anhe Town is relatively remote; living costs are low and wages are also lower here. To set a reasonable salary for this position, Shi Tian consulted his landlord, who had recently hired someone at their Gold Shop for a meager four thousand yuan.
To attract applicants, Shi Tian had to bend some rules; in terms of salary range, he listed it as four thousand to six thousand yuan. For a shop assistant, this pay is quite acceptable; if he set it too high, no one would believe it.
After posting the job listing and seeing that someone had caught a big fish in their group chat, Shi Tian felt an itch in his hands. It had been several days since he last went fishing—this was torture for someone new to being a fisherman!
