Ah! The tide is rising! There are so many shells! I have to hurry and collect them! Hearing the tide come in, Kang Ziyu felt a pang of reluctance; her small bucket wasn’t full yet!
Last week, while sea fishing, she had caught a tuna and saved one for today. It was perfect timing to use this fish to treat you and add another dish to dinner! Leading Kang Ziyu into the hotel ahead, he had already arranged for someone to take out the Bluefin Tuna to thaw before they arrived, and now it was ready for cutting!
A fifty-pound tuna was placed on the cutting board, with its head and tail already removed before being stored in the cold storage. Now, once it was filleted, it would be ready to serve.
"You caught this fish? It’s so big! Impressive!" Kang Ziyu glanced at the fish on the board and then looked down at the shells in her small bucket. She couldn’t help but compliment him lightly; after all, she thought her collected shells were prettier!
Once the fish was prepared, a large belly slice was cut off and handed to the chef for sashimi preparation, laid over a bed of ice. A plate of Tuna Sashimi was soon served.
When the fish arrived at the table, neither of them rushed to eat; Shi Tian wanted to make a good impression first!
"Wait here for a moment; I’ll personally cook two dishes. The chefs here aren’t that great; their food isn’t tasty!" He said to Kang Ziyu before getting up and heading towards the kitchen, not forgetting to carry his small bucket.
Hearing Shi Tian's words, Kang Ziyu hadn’t even spoken yet when the head chef’s face darkened. "You think you’re something special? Just wait until you order next time; I’ll make sure you regret it!"
However, he knew that Shi Tian could cook. Previously, when Shi Ye was around, they often sent over ingredients for Shi Tian to prepare meals.
"Come on! Pay attention! This is a unique skill passed down from my master. If you learn it, you can go ask Shi Ye for a raise!" Following the head chef into the kitchen, Shi Tian earnestly directed him on ingredient preparation.
Yi Laotou had put considerable effort into studying culinary skills. There were some signature dishes that Shi Tian would never reveal; those were closely guarded secrets from his senior brothers and sisters.
But ordinary home-cooked dishes were no big deal; anyone could learn them. Once mastered, he wouldn’t have to worry anymore—he could simply order food at home without needing to cook himself!
After preparing several dishes and returning, Kang Ziyu was still busy playing with her phone.
Having played fisherman today—even if just for a short while—she couldn’t resist enjoying her plentiful harvest from the bucket!
With all the dishes ready, it was time to eat! After they were served at the table, Shi Tian smiled slightly.
Since it was their first meal together, they wouldn’t drink alcohol.
Though there were only a few home-cooked dishes, Shi Tian had put thought into them. It was his first time treating Kang Ziyu to dinner; he wanted to leave a good impression! If he could win her over with good food, that would be even better!
Shi Tian’s meal turned out quite well. After just a couple of bites, Kang Ziyu couldn’t stop eating. By the end of the meal, they felt much more familiar with each other—at least there was no longer that awkwardness from before!
After dinner, they strolled through the winding paths of the villa area, chatting casually until Shi Tian remembered he still had a cat at home that needed feeding!
Back at the villa, lying on his bed, the first thing he did was order a guitar!
Shi Tian had learned guitar before but found his fingers somewhat clumsy; after practicing for a week without mastering any chords, he had given up.
Kang Ziyu played guitar professionally and sang beautifully! Once his guitar arrived, he could confidently go over and ask her for lessons!
This week’s Bait Contest wouldn’t be held; after the recent typhoon, the river water was murky and fierce. Even Bai Tiao wouldn’t bite; better to wait until next week!
After being cooped up for a week due to the typhoon, a group of fishermen were itching to get back out.
"Old Zhang, the storm has passed. Let’s go camping in the mountains!" Aunt Zhang said, giving Old Zhang a nudge while lying in bed.
This suggestion startled Old Zhang, who shook his head vigorously like a rattle drum. "No way! It just rained, and the humidity in the mountains is too high. Let’s wait a few days before going camping!"
Camping sounded great for fishing, but it was hard on the kidneys! It was all Shi Tian's fault for putting this idea in his wife’s head; now they were dealing with the consequences! Did she really enjoy fishing? No, she just liked camping!
The six-foot Mi San Hand Rod at Xiao Tian's shop looked nice. Xiao Xue mentioned that rod was effective and could handle fish weighing up to ten pounds without any trouble! Seeing Old Zhang refuse, Aunt Zhang casually brought it up.
Shi Tian had lent Old Zhang his fishing gear, and Aunt Zhang had already paid for it while Su Xueyi was busy managing the shop. The whole set cost one thousand three hundred fourteen yuan, and even when Xiao Xue offered to round down the price, Aunt Zhang insisted on paying the full amount without hesitation.
After settling the bill, Aunt Zhang started asking Su Xueyi about Fishing Gear. This conversation effectively cornered Old Zhang.
The weather was clear; if they spent the day in the sun and went camping at night, it shouldn’t be a problem! When the six-foot Mi San Hand Rod was mentioned again, Old Zhang finally relented. "But small rods can’t catch big fish. How about we buy a six-foot Mi San Rod today and try to catch a big fish for dinner?"
Hearing Old Zhang give in, Aunt Zhang smiled slightly. "See? I knew I could get you!"
If he wanted Chang Gan, that would be fine, but it depended on how well he performed! The effort put in would directly correlate with the rewards; the better he did, the longer the rod would be!
