Today seemed to be a lucky day for the Electric Car Guy, as he shouted in excitement, "Big catch!" With his bow drawn tight, Rod felt the tension as if facing a formidable opponent.
The Electric Car Guy had hooked a big fish, and Shi Tian quickly got up. It was impossible for him to help at this moment; at least not yet. If they could drag it to the shore, he could lend a hand in landing the fish!
"Go for it! I’ll record it for you!" Shi Tian called out, raising his phone to capture close-ups of the Electric Car Guy, who was feeling exhilarated by the attention.
Taking two steps back and bending his knees into a stance, the Electric Car Guy's adrenaline surged. The sound of the reel screeching under pressure filled the air as the line visibly dwindled.
Running out of line was a fisherman's nightmare; the fishing line was their bargaining chip against the big fish. Once it was gone, so were their chances of success!
Seeing that he was about to run out of line, the Electric Car Guy gritted his teeth and tightened his grip on the reel. Observing his determination, Shi Tian couldn't help but smile!
Then came a pleasant cracking sound, and Shi Tian felt relieved. The spool and two hooks had survived; he could still promote Rod!
But with Rod broken and the fish slipping away, Shi Tian leaned in regretfully. "That fish must have weighed at least fifty pounds!"
"What a shame! If you had a proper Rod, you would have landed it for sure!"
"Fifty pounds? More like seventy! It nearly dragged me into the water!" The Electric Car Guy slapped his thigh in frustration. "This gear is terrible! Where did you buy it? Did you get ripped off? First the leader line, then the main line, and now this big fish breaks my rod—what a scam!"
Hearing this from Shi Tian made the Electric Car Guy slap his thigh again in frustration. "I bought it online! The seller claimed it was brand name and charged me over eight hundred bucks! Damn it! I’m leaving them a bad review—definitely counterfeit! I’ll file a complaint and demand compensation for my fish!"
After venting, he turned to Shi Tian with an intense gaze that made him uneasy.
"Hey man, don’t look at me like that! I can handle giving you some hooks or line, but I can’t afford to give away my Rod! I got this Rod from that Fishing Tackle Shop in Anhe Town for just over a hundred bucks. They even threw in two spools of line that I didn’t need!"
Taking a step back, Shi Tian cautiously tucked his Rod into his arms.
The Electric Car Guy stormed off, clearly fuming. As he walked away, Shi Tian noticed his thigh swelling up from all that slapping—he probably cursed out every ancestor of the shop that sold him that Rod!
Watching him leave, Shi Tian felt conflicted. The fishing here was so good; leaving now felt like a waste! But having him drive back seemed unworthy.
Thinking about how Wang Ergou had scammed him last time, Shi Tian made up his mind and quickly shared the video of the Electric Car Guy’s broken rod in their group chat!
Such a prime fishing spot shouldn’t be wasted on just one person; however, finding someone to bring him some live shrimp shouldn’t be too much trouble!
Fishing alone or with someone else made no difference; with such a large rock formation around them, having an extra person wouldn’t hurt at all!
Wang Ergou: Your smoke is in my car. Sharing the location, I'll send it over right away!
Wang Ergou's speed is quite impressive; he probably sent the message before finishing the video. Since it's Wang Ergou who wants to come, let him! Last time he got himself into trouble, so this time, asking him to bring half a pound of shrimp shouldn't be too much to ask!
Shi Xiao Tian: Bring me half a pound of Live Shrimp when you come. I'll let the shop know, and you can just pick it up!
Wang Ergou: Got it!
Seeing Wang Ergou's reply, Shi Tian sent him a private message with the location. He called Su Xueyi to inform her and, without paying attention to the group chat that was starting to heat up, turned and jumped into the water, ready to catch some Tenghu and Xia Shou!
Wang Ergou probably doesn't know where he is yet. It will take him some time to arrive, so Shi Tian decided to catch a few Tenghu for now. Who knows, he might even encounter a big fish!
Not long after hanging up, Su Xueyi began to wonder why so many people were buying shrimp at the shop during lunchtime when they should be busy.
After buying the shrimp, they weren't in a hurry to leave; even getting a plate of noodles could take over ten minutes!
When Wang Ergou arrived, carrying the Live Shrimp that Su Xueyi had prepared for Shi Tian, everyone in the shop suddenly left as well, leaving Su Xueyi somewhat stunned!
Were these people planning to rob Wang Ergou? Surely it couldn't be just for half a pound of Live Shrimp!
