Oka found this area of the sea quite nice; the water was clear and the waves gentle, making Shi Tian almost want to jump in for a swim. After casting his line, Shi Tian, along with Oka, was busy preparing Dog Meat to attract fish.
Oka had removed the Dog Meat from his head and tied it to a rod, seemingly planning to capture some underwater footage once they hooked a fish. It was a clever and innovative idea, though he wondered if the bloody scene of a hook piercing a fish would still look beautiful on camera.
Their target was the Sea Red Spot, a small fish that weighed no more than ten pounds at most. A single net would suffice; there was no need for hooks at all. As the line went down, their goal was that big fish they spotted on the Fish Finder, but he couldn't help but wonder about its appetite. If only he had brought some digestive tablets to enhance its feeding!
The line went down about forty or fifty meters, but before reaching the depth where the big fish lurked, other fish intercepted the bait. With fish biting, there was no time to worry about the big one. He pushed the electric reel button, and it began to reel in frantically.
The fish was surprisingly weak; it couldn't even pull against the drag! Watching the numbers on the Electric Reel decrease slowly, Shi Tian couldn't help but complain. All he could do now was hope that the big fish would linger a bit longer while he reeled in this one. Once he got it up, he would definitely select the largest Live Shrimp to deliver right to its mouth!
But how many fish could actually pull against the drag? Here, a ten-pound fish was already considered large. If he loosened the drag a bit more, it wouldn’t be hard to catch with his Iso Rod; that would feel great! After teasing Shi Tian a bit, Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell dipped the Dog Meat into the water.
With only ten meters left on Electric Reel's display, Shi Tian knew that this fish would surface in no time; he had to be ready to snap some photos! Coordinating with Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell, Shi Tian adjusted the reel slightly to slow down the line and leaned his rod closer to where the Dog Meat was submerged.
A Red Snapper surfaced—just over two pounds and bright red, which was quite disappointing. He quickly retrieved it and tossed it into the Living Water Tank before replacing it with a better-looking Live Shrimp and casting again toward where he hoped to find a bigger fish!
Red Snappers were social creatures and quite aggressive; wherever they appeared, they chased away other fish. After catching three Red Snappers in a row, Shi Tian found himself reminiscing about yesterday's electric fishing experience. Zuo Ling Huo and Leigong, assist me! He wished for two rods to show these pesky thieves what new energy fishing rods could do!
Yet thinking about that big fish below made him hesitant; changing Fishing Spots was easy, but encountering a big fish wasn’t! He decided to focus on finishing off this group of Red Snappers first before dropping his Hook down for the big one. He didn’t believe these Red Snappers were so skilled that they could intercept every cast!
After reeling in five Red Snappers, Shi Tian finally sent down his offering for the big fish below. He just hoped it hadn’t left; if it did, he'd have to chop up those five Red Snappers when he got back and toss them across to bait his spot! With bait settled on the bottom, Shi Tian reeled in slightly and gently teased it a couple of times, hoping that big fish would take notice!
With a few tugs, the line was almost reeled in, and finally, Shi Tian felt a bite.
Compared to those annoying Red Snappers, catching a larger fish was definitely more exhilarating. At least the drag on the Electric Reel was starting to sing!
As Shi Tian fought with the larger fish, the aroma of Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell wafted over, drawing attention.
The camera zoomed in on Shi Tian's Electric Reel before panning up the Rod, following the line into the water, but it didn’t capture Shi Tian’s handsome face!
Oh wow! A big catch!
Oka exclaimed, startling Shi Tian into a shiver. "Hey! Take it easy; some words are taboo. If we don’t mention them, we can still be good friends!" Shi Tian shot Oka a glare as he checked the Rod and line for any issues.
"Why worry about a fish weighing over a hundred pounds? What’s there to be concerned about with this Xiao Yu? Just pull hard; once the fish is up, I’ll help you net it!" Oka replied with a slight smile, his hands never stopping as he pulled up another Red Snapper.
Ignoring Oka’s comments, Shi Tian focused entirely on reeling in the line.
The fish was sizable but didn’t seem to put up much of a fight; its struggles were weak and reminded him of the Qing Gan he caught earlier that morning.
Could it be a big Qing Gan? This fish is so disappointing; in its moment of life and death, it doesn’t even have the courage to struggle? Shaking his head, Shi Tian stared at the numbers on the Electric Reel in disbelief.
In less than twenty minutes, this fish had surrendered? What a lack of accomplishment!
