Three bowls of lamb soup down the hatch, and it was time to officially start drinking. Each person had a case of beer beside them, and the night was just getting underway.
"Brother Ge, tomorrow I’m taking Sister Chao Fen fishing for carp. Want to join?" After downing a bottle, Wang Ergou turned to Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell and asked.
Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell had seen that video; it was beautifully shot, but there were too few fishing scenes—it was mostly feeding dolphins. It was a pity that they hadn’t captured the moment when the boss cried while fishing. Tomorrow they planned to switch things up; he wouldn’t have a chance at Heikeng here, so he would have to settle for Ye Diao instead.
Heikeng had its own way of playing, and Ye Diao had its own fun. If he couldn’t reel in the boss, could he not reel in an old man? If he could drag Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell along as a free photographer, Wang Ergou would be more than happy.
"Sure! When we’re done here, let’s all stay over! There are plenty of empty rooms here; we can head out together tomorrow morning!" Wang Ergou invited, and without a second thought, Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell agreed.
"But if I’m filming some videos while fishing for carp tomorrow, you won’t ask me for a fee, right?" Following Wang Ergou to fish while capturing some footage was fine. However, if he wanted them on camera, he would need to mention it to a few people first.
"Brother, don’t listen to his nonsense; this kid is full of tricks! Your video should focus on you; overly beautifying the supporting characters takes away from the main act!" Shi Tian joked as he reminded Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell. He then turned to Oka and asked, "Ou Ge, aren’t you going to Xisha? When are you leaving?"
Oka was heading to Xisha, which made Shi Tian envious. There were big fish over there, but that wasn’t even the most appealing part. The real draw was that Xisha offered diving opportunities—clear waters only one or two meters deep teeming with fish below; such sights were rare elsewhere.
"We set sail the day after tomorrow. Tomorrow I need to check supplies; we’ll leave early the day after!" Oka casually replied after munching on a skewer of leeks.
"If you’re near the reefs, keep an eye out for good diving spots. I want to try diving there someday!" Compared to Yalong Bay, Xisha would definitely be more fun. There was also another paradise—Nansha—but unfortunately, not everyone could go there. Diving there could be quite troublesome.
"Diving? Why go diving when there are perfectly good fish to catch?" Oka teased Shi Tian with a laugh. "The corals at Xisha are beautiful; diving there would be great! How about you join us the day after tomorrow? I’ll find you a spot where you can dive in!"
Oka’s invitation genuinely tempted Shi Tian. However, reality didn’t allow it! Yun Wan'er was coming over in a few days; if he ran off to Xisha now, he might as well forget about returning home!
After spending the night at Scallion and Ginger's place, Shi Tian was roused early the next morning before dawn by Scallion and Ginger to Remove Fishy Smell. Clearly, the reminder from yesterday had stuck with him. Since Oka still needed to gather equipment for going out to sea and didn’t have time to help him film, Shi Tian found himself drafted into service.
After having breakfast, Wang Ergou drove Shi Tian to the store entrance while he and Chao Fen Ge set off first, planning to meet up at Banling Reservoir. Located in the northern part of the district, it wasn’t far away. By the time they arrived at Banling Reservoir, it was still dark.
There wasn’t enough time left for lobster fishing; debts were piling up—he had to go to work! Otherwise, Zhang Junming might come after him with a knife in Sanya since he hadn’t yet mastered Shui Bi Zhang’s essence and still needed more practice!
The fuel gauge light on the car had already gone off; he had planned to wait for Shi Chui to arrive so that Shi Chui could help him fill up. It seemed that wouldn’t happen now.
After leaving town, he found a gas station. Upon entering, he saw that oil prices had already reached double digits—the price per liter had risen above eleven yuan. Shi Tian couldn’t help but reminisce about his Electric Mini parked in the garage!
"Two hundred bucks first!" Shi Tian said, feeling a pinch in his wallet as he glanced at the numbers on the fuel gauge.
Paying for boat fuel was no big deal; he could spend thousands without batting an eye when it came to fishing. But shelling out a few hundred for car fuel was a different story. If only he had borrowed Wang Ergou's car, he could have saved those two hundred bucks. Once Shi Chui arrived, he wouldn’t have to worry about running out of gas anyway. If he did run low, he could just take Shi Chui's car and leave his at home. He was sure Shi Chui would have to go out eventually!
He had been in Sanya for quite some time now without needing to refuel. The Electric Mini that Shi Ye had left him was full when he got it, and after that, Sun Lang used it a few times but always returned it with a full tank. He wished Sun Lang could lend him the car to pick up Su Xueyi from work every day.
Since Sun Lang drove over with his Nissan, no one had filled up his tank. Luckily, he didn’t drive much—just a quick trip to the shop or scouting a few Fishing Spots nearby. The car’s large fuel tank had lasted him until now.
"Why two hundred? Just fill it up!" Shi Tian said to You Yuan, exasperated.
Upon hearing "fill it up," Shi Tian shuddered. Did you know how much it cost to fill this car? The tank capacity was a hundred liters! A full tank would definitely be in the four-digit range!
Seeing how generous Scallions and Ginger was being, Shi Tian quietly turned off his phone and headed to the restroom. "I won't be back until you finish paying!"
After dawdling for a while, feeling that enough time had passed, Shi Tian emerged from the restroom and saw that Scallions and Ginger had already pulled the car away from the pump. Perfect! He had managed to score another tank of gas!
He opened the passenger door with a grin and hopped in. "Brother, it's still dark out; we can't film yet! Once the sun comes up, we'll find a good Fishing Buddy with some luck. After flattering him a bit, we can set up our Rod next to him. That way, we can keep him quiet while our video shines—fans will definitely love it!"
