The price was about the same as what Shi Tian found online. For a dollar, he might find a place with better conditions, but it would be a bit far from the Xi River!

Traveling on a budget meant saving money was the way to go! Keeping the fish with him was inconvenient; he could cook it himself, but there would still be leftovers. If it could offset his room fee, that would be quite nice!
Upon hearing that Shi Tian had no money, the uncle's enthusiasm immediately vanished!
"Am I going to lack for fish while guarding the Xi River?" He retorted at Shi Tian, preparing to turn around and continue watching his little videos.
"No money and still want to stay in a hotel? Are you kidding me?" If it weren't for the law and order situation, the uncle would have wanted to scold Shi Tian right then!
"This isn't fish from the Xi River; it's sea fish, just caught this morning in Zhanjiang! Five pounds!" After saying this, Shi Tian turned and ran back to the car, returning with the Fish Bucket. When he opened it, the Big Red Friend seemed dissatisfied with its one-bedroom apartment and splashed seawater all over Shi Tian's face with a flick of its tail!
"This is a Big Red Friend; farmed ones weigh four to five pounds each! This one is wild and just caught! Five pounds; you definitely won't lose out!" After finishing his sentence, just then a Bro came down holding a Rod. He glanced at Shi Tian's bucket of fish and immediately approached.
"This fish is really beautiful! Sea fish is smart; your granddaughter wants to eat sea fish? This fish can cover two nights' room fee. Just give me your ID card, and I'll get you checked in!" He placed his Rod on the table and decisively made his offer.
"Your granddaughter wants to eat sea fish? You really know how to make excuses; I think it's you who wants it!" After teasing the young man, the uncle sat down beside him and picked up his phone again to continue watching videos.
Reluctant to part with two dollars just for his appetite, the uncle still felt some hesitation. However, believing that "sea fish makes you smart," he decided to treat this fish as an investment, hoping his granddaughter would get into a good university in the future!
After receiving the room card, he took a quick look around the room. This Bro was quite reliable; the room he got was nice in terms of both orientation and facilities—probably the best room in the inn. If he stayed for two nights, it would be worth it for this fish!
After checking out the room, he had learned his lesson this time—not asking the innkeeper for information anymore since that was unreliable. Instead, he drove straight to the riverside where there were people fishing; he couldn't go wrong there!
The Xi River originates in Yunnan and flows through Guizhou, Guangxi, and Guangdong before entering the sea at Macau. It is China's third-largest river, second only to the Yangtze and Yellow Rivers, so there are plenty of fish in it!
Compared to the Yangtze River basin, Xi River's fish resources are relatively well protected; there is an annual fishing ban lasting four months that ends at the end of June.
Now that June had long passed, there was no shortage of Fishermen by the riverbank.
With one hand holding a Rod Case and the other carrying a Fishing Box, he looked around to see who had caught more fish first before deciding how to approach them!
"Hey there, how's the bite?" Seeing an old man just reel in a Carp, Shi Tian quickly approached while he was in good spirits to ask about it!
"I haven't had a single bite all afternoon!" The old man shook his Yu Hu nervously when he saw Shi Tian approaching, fearing that his earlier catch might have been seen.
"No bites? That sounds challenging!" Luckily for him, he loved tackling difficult challenges—he would fish right here! Since the old man said there were no bites, he'd make sure there were bites!
He wasn't confident about Sea Fishing or using Lures but had plenty of experience with Taiwanese Fishing techniques. Plus with his Customized Rod, how could he not handle an old man?
"Over there! That old man just caught a Big Carp weighing dozens of pounds; his Rod nearly broke!" Just as Shi Tian was about to set up shop, the old man quickly reminded him.
"How many pounds?" No way! My Rod is precious; if I hooked such a big fish, it would definitely break. It's not worth it for just one fish! With that said, Shi Tian put away the Fishing Box and ignored the old man's incomprehensible Cantonese remarks, setting up his Rod and using heavy weights to find the bottom.
Fishing without baiting the spot won't yield much! The old man had just caught a Carp, a big one with a golden hue that made Shi Tian envious. He decided to throw in a couple of Carp Baits to see if he could get lucky!
Ten minutes passed, and Wo Liao was starting to show results. He hooked two Plastic Particles and cast his line again, while the old man caught another fish!
A Catfish! What a fight! As soon as he hooked it, fearing that Shi Tian might not notice, the old man raised his voice a bit and said in Mandarin, "This Grass Carp is impressive! Such strength!"
Hearing "Catfish," Shi Tian thought it was some rare species, but when he heard "Grass Carp," he instinctively stood up, took out some Grass Carp Bait, and prepared two more. Let's see how your Catfish holds up!
The Xi River area has a long stretch with various terrains, and there are indeed many protected fish species. Shi Tian wasn't sure which fish were protected. In places like this, it's best to release any unfamiliar catches to avoid trouble!
The fish on the old man's Rod was indeed sizable; the splashing sound made Shi Tian salivate. If he had big fish in his spot, it wouldn't be long before he had some too. He reeled in his line and decided to switch to a heavier Line Setup; otherwise, he wouldn't be able to handle the big catch!
