They were still quite popular among the locals. If it weren't for their slickness, they would have been taken down by a few local Chieftains long ago.
They had come to Africa to promote local industry development. They set up hydraulic machines to produce rice cookers, tiles, and aluminum foil bicycles. While they couldn't use high-end equipment here, it didn't stop them from manufacturing these items.
Most of these products, aside from bicycles, couldn't be sold locally. Even the bicycles had pitiful sales numbers. What could they do? This was a former colony of Gaul, after all. They could export through Gaul to Europe!
Europe and America were heavily suppressing domestic products, but surely there wouldn't be an issue with goods produced in Africa! They couldn't possibly suppress their former colonies too!
Setting up factories in Africa provided jobs and tax revenue while earning euros! Even if the money couldn't be brought back to Africa, that wasn't a problem; they could buy minerals and bring them back, making a profit in the process!
If shipping back home was too troublesome, they could handle things locally. To the north was Europe, and across the Atlantic was America. How many minerals couldn’t be sold? How much oil couldn’t be sold? As long as they transported it over there, they would be fighting to pay!
The yard had been secured, and the factory was still under construction; these matters didn’t require Shi Tian's concern.
After two days of the Bait Contest, Shi Tian was enjoying the sea breeze in front of the store. Winter had arrived, and this was the most comfortable time of year in Sanya.
Why hadn’t he gone fishing today? He turned to glance at Wang Gou and Lobster, who had just sat down, pouring them a cup of hot tea with a hint of curiosity.
“Don’t mention it,” Wang Gou sighed. “I spent three days at my spot only to have it stolen!”
Mentioning this made Wang Gou feel frustrated. For Wo Liao's sake, both Wang Gou and Lobster had participated in this week’s Bait Contest and even secured some rankings.
For others like Carp, Grass Carp, Bai Tiao, and Black Sea Bream, they could choose whatever they wanted from Wo Liao’s offerings. However, as core members, Wang Gou and Lobster received special treatment; Shi Tian had given them several packs of Azure Wind Antelope.
With Azure Wind Antelope in hand, they were set to catch something big! Fearing that their Azure Wind Antelope might not be effective enough, the two started gathering Snails three days in advance. After catching over a hundred pounds of Snails without even starting to fish, they found their spot taken by someone else—now that was frustrating!
What happened next?
Wang Gou and Lobster were not pushovers; they wouldn’t accept such a silent loss easily. Shi Tian casually asked what their plan was while waiting for their response.
This was something Qing Shi Tian needed to investigate further; who knew when it might come in handy!
A few Youngsters were setting up tents nearby; it seemed like they planned to stay for a while! They couldn’t be chased away but could only outsmart them!
After finishing his hot tea, Wang Gou said thoughtfully, “I just took a stroll around. I’m worried it’ll be too dark to fish tonight, so I added some lighting for them from a distance! I set up some Gui Huo!”
Wang Gou was knowledgeable about chemistry; he understood what he was doing. But what exactly were these Gui Huo? Were they trying to scare off the Youngsters or send them packing?
Gui Huo referred to Phosphine gas; at Sanya’s temperature, it would definitely ignite when released into the air.
However, given Wang Gou's methods, he certainly wouldn’t play with Phosphine directly; it was highly toxic—just a couple of breaths could send someone away!
Red phosphorus mixed with water could produce Phosphine. In an open outdoor setting, there wouldn’t be any issues; once the gas was generated, it would likely ignite immediately. Ultimately forming phosphoric acid which could be mixed with nitrogen to create fertilizer.
Only a professional like Wang Gou would dare to play like this!
"Brother Dog, do you know what my original profession is?" Shi Tian shook his head, giving Wang Gou a sidelong glance.
"Original profession? Selling fishing gear? A chef? You’re not a boat captain, are you?" Shi Tian blurted out without thinking, leaving Wang Gou momentarily speechless.
He had never actually asked Shi Tian what he studied in college; he only knew that Shi Tian was an excellent cook, which he had personally experienced.
Besides his culinary skills, Shi Tian's fishing gear was also impressive—far superior to his cooking skills. However, Shi Tian had previously mentioned that the fishing gear came from a friend, and he was only responsible for selling it. Plus, Shi Tian went fishing with them every day, so he clearly didn’t have time to make the gear himself!
Nevertheless, Wang Gou suspected that Shi Tian must understand material development. The materials used in the fishing gear at his shop were obviously better than those commonly available on the market; they must have been researched and developed by him.
"My master’s father is a famous Feng Shui master. A couple of days ago in Guangzhou, he took me along to read someone's Feng Shui. I even got hands-on experience, except for two Great Evils! You better be careful not to fall into my hands!"
Wang Gou pretended to be mysterious and scare people; he was indeed a charlatan. If the two could collaborate, they could complement each other well!
"Great Evils? Two of them? Are there female ghosts? I've never seen one of those! If you catch any next time, definitely give me a call so I can see for myself!" Wang Gou completely ignored Shi Tian's intimidation.
He was a staunch materialist and dismissed any talk of Great Evils. If Shi Tian could really catch a couple, he could soak them in various chemical solutions; who knows, he might even develop a new product like ghost-repelling spray—there should be plenty of market potential!
After a few cups of tea, Old Zhang came over with a plate of crayfish.
