As the boat set sail, Shi Tianyi pointed towards the east and said, "About eighty to ninety kilometers that way, near Wanning, there are three undeveloped uninhabited islands: Jiajing Island, Zhou Zai Island, and Dazhou Island. If there’s no wind, the sea over there is much more beautiful than here; it looks just like a glassy surface."
"Dazhou Island is a protected area where fishing is not allowed, but Jiajing Island and Zhou Zai Island don’t have as many restrictions. We should take the opportunity to go snorkeling there! We can fish a bit and have a picnic afterward."
Shi Tian had long coveted these three islands, but unfortunately, they were a bit far away. Traveling by boat from the villa area to these islands would take over a hundred kilometers, about the same distance as going to Nan You. The only difference was that one headed east while the other went west.
These three islands are not far from the coast, only about three or four kilometers away. Dazhou Island has been designated as a protected area for eight or nine years now, but it’s curious that the other two islands remain undeveloped.
In China, buying islands is permitted. Both Zhou Zai Island and Jiajing Island are small, just a little over half a square kilometer each. So why hasn’t anyone bought them for development?
Dazhou Island used to have indigenous people living on it, but they were relocated once it became a protected area. The other two islands are too small; they lack fresh water and electricity! However, this isn’t the main reason for their lack of development. The bigger reason is that the government protects the islands and their surrounding ecosystems.
Buying these two islands wouldn’t cost much, but building a house on them would require one or two years just for approvals. If one wanted to develop tourism and fully develop the small islands, it wouldn’t be something that could be solved merely with time.
Another reason these two islands remain undeveloped is their beaches. Jiajing Island has a stretch of beach on its western side, but it’s only about a hundred meters long; the rest is all rocky. Zhou Zai Island is even worse; it has only a fragmented beach on its northern side that adds up to less than a hundred meters. It wouldn’t be reasonable to expect people to squat on rocks just to look at the sea! That would be too dangerous!
If one were to acquire these two islands, their only use would be for establishing a Fishing Club. For fish, those fishermen wouldn’t fear the rocks; the more rocks there are, the more fish there will be—it's paradise for them!
"Yun Mei Nu," Shi Tian said with a grin, "the workshop for our Fishing Tackle Shop is all set up. I invested two million; you invested three million. You’re practically the major shareholder now!" Noticing that Yun Wan'er didn’t respond to his comment, Shi Tian quickly changed the subject.
Upon hearing Shi Tian call her Yun Mei Nu, Yun Wan'er instinctively felt wary. Although this guy wasn’t particularly clever, he might dig a pit for her at any moment!
"What scheme are you plotting now?" she asked casually while steering the small boat, trying to see what he was up to.
"As the major shareholder, your rights are the greatest, but so are your responsibilities—right?"
"Speak plainly! Don’t beat around the bush!" Once Yun Wan'er heard Shi Tian mention rights and responsibilities, she nearly guessed what he was planning.
"Are you going to personally oversee the fate of our Fishing Tackle Shop? I have no experience in such matters; I can’t bear such a heavy burden without troubling you!" Shi Tian chuckled while helping Yun Wan'er massage her shoulders.
He was good at fishing and living off handouts, but managing an online store was beyond him. Initially thinking that with Bird Brother's help his online store would quickly get on track, he had decided to throw in the towel after being reminded by Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er—he’d leave everything to Old Yun and Lao Shi!
"Your store hasn’t received any investment? Has the equipment for the workshop been purchased? Isn’t that an investment? I’m not really a major shareholder; you’re the true major shareholder! We’re just waiting for dividends!"
While Shi Tian wanted to slack off, Yun Wan'er was not having any of it. She still had to work online every day for her Import and Export Company and attend several meetings each week—she had no interest in working for Shi Tian!
"The equipment has already been purchased and tested," she replied. "You’re right; I really am a major shareholder—the equipment alone cost several million!" Rubbing her head thoughtfully, Shi Tian grinned and said, "Since I’m in charge here, I appoint you as the temporary executive director responsible for personnel and sales!"
This executive director title definitely needed "temporary" added to it; otherwise, Yun Wan'er might just pack up and leave that night!
Hearing this, Yun Wan'er turned and shot Shi Tianyi a glare. She mounted her horse and accompanied him for a while. Truly, the hardest job in the world is being a parent!
"I can help you set up that online store, but how do we calculate the profits?"
Upon hearing the word "profits," Shi Tian chuckled. "Profits? What profits? There won't be any profits in the early stages of an online store! It's a wonder if we don't end up pouring in a ton of money!"
"It's all yours! The profits are all yours! After all, you're the executive director!"
Yun Wan'er’s expression darkened at his words. It seemed like it should be the other way around! All the hard-earned money she had saved over the years would ultimately benefit this brat!
"Lao Shi, Old Zhang, have those two shops cleared out? Get someone to tidy them up. The first floor will be the shipping area, and the second floor will be the office. We'll set up the online store there!"
Seeing Yun Wan'er starting to mobilize her resources, Shi Tian chuckled to himself. This was going to work! He could finally go back to fishing without a care!
