Listening to Lu Ya ramble on, Old Lu frowned. Was it really as mysterious as he claimed? Did he think he could impress me with his metaphysical nonsense while I was grounded in science? 0

Despite Old Lu's self-identification as a scientist, he had never truly engaged in serious research. At best, he had spent some time dismantling railway tracks and telephone poles in Vietnam before being assigned to coal mining. 0

Coal, buried underground, is hidden from sight unless you dig a hole. The more holes you dig, the more strange and wonderful things you uncover—like oil, iron ore, and rare earth elements! In those days, everything was scarce; whatever they found was valuable, and thus the Old Lu Family's business expanded rapidly. 0

With some spare cash in hand, what do you do? You find a way to spend it! Build some houses! Engage in research! Wherever there was a need, they would invest their money. 0

Back then, mining coal made people wealthy, and building houses turned them into foremen. Old Lu disliked both titles and preferred to call himself a scientist to elevate his status! 0

But this was getting ridiculous; the more Lu Ya spoke, the more absurd it became. He was spinning tales that sounded like something out of a storybook! "Have you ever seen that rod?" Old Lu shot back at Lu Ya with a skeptical glance. 0

If Lu Ya were praising the rod's sturdiness, Old Lu might have considered it credible since the fishing line in his hand was indeed strong enough that he hadn’t managed to break it even after last night’s drinking session—it had left two deep cuts on his hand. 0

However, as Lu Ya continued to embellish his story, it felt increasingly far-fetched. "You have one? Where is it? Show me!" Upon hearing this, Old Lu immediately turned to him. 0

"In Sanya! I was in a hurry last night and didn’t bring it with me! I’ll have someone send one over!" As soon as he mentioned sending a rod, Lu Ya regretted speaking up. 0

Not having the rod on hand allowed for some delay. He could buy time by promising to send an ordinary rod instead of the customized one. Once that customized rod reached Old Lu's hands, it would be wasted on mere fishing; he'd likely take it apart and study its components in various solutions. 0

Lost in thought during the journey, Old Lu realized he needed to make another trip to Sanya to get that rod. If it truly had the mystical properties Lu Ya claimed, then studying the line would be pointless; they would need to investigate the rod first. After all, the materials used for vibration transmission within the rod were far too valuable for just fishing—they would be better suited for submarines or anti-submarine applications! 0

"Liu Ya," he said as the plane began its descent, "book tickets to Sanya. Come with me fishing!" He felt compelled to check out the rod that Lu Ya had mentioned. 0

As for the Old Shi Family, he knew he needed to be cautious around them from now on. That troublemaker from last night—Shi Tian—looked like trouble. He wanted me to study fishing lines so that once we developed them, he could throw my own words back at me with that rod! If only he knew how smug he'd be if I hadn’t found out about the fishing rod! 0

But I also needed to stay close to Shi Ye and see what other resources the Old Shi Family had! Protect myself while keeping an eye on Shi Tian—just not too close; otherwise, I wouldn’t know what he might be up to! 0

The coffee shop opened with a brief yet grand ceremony planned meticulously by Li Ziyu and her team. 0

Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er were in a hurry to head to the capital, having yet to buy any gifts. Li Ziyu suggested they could wait until after the fireworks display, but Yun Wan'er insisted on waiting until the ceremony was over. As a result, the grand opening ceremony was shortened from several hours to less than one. 0

Once the shop opened, Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er handed out large red envelopes to Li Ziyu and the others, giving each of them two. It was quite generous of them. However, Yun Wan'er had prepared not only for herself and Shi Chui but also for Shi Ye and Lu Ying Er. Soon after, Shi Ye and Lu Ying Er stepped forward, each pulling out three large red envelopes that were identical in packaging to those of Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er! 0

Then Air Force took out his phone to scan the payment code; he was always so straightforward! After completing the payment, Air Force turned his attention to Shi Tian: "What about you? Hurry up! Don’t be stingy!" 0

As he pulled out his phone and was about to scan the code, he hesitated, sensing something was off. He turned around and switched to the receiving code, presenting it to Air Force: "Jun Ge, this shop belongs to Xiao Yu and the others, right? If you’re giving them red envelopes, what about mine?" 0

"What does Xiao Yu's shop have to do with you?" Air Force immediately retorted as he snatched back his phone upon seeing Shi Tian’s shamelessness. 0

"It's all mine! Isn’t Xiao Yu’s shop my shop too?" Shi Tian quickly interjected when he noticed Li Ziyu was about to argue back. He turned to Li Ziyu and urged, "Xiao Yu, hurry up and let Jun Ge scan the code. I want my share too!" 0

Upon hearing there was money involved, everyone agreed that this plan could work! 0
