"How deep are you fishing?" Shui Bi Zhang immediately asked Shi Chui.
One question, one meal; although the price was a bit steep, the results were worth it. Every time they asked, they always gained something!
They had just cast their lines and hadn't even tested the waters yet. They would see if they caught anything soon! Shi Tian casually replied while continuing to reel in his rod.
They had only just started fishing; catching a fish wasn't that easy!
"At eighteen meters, one cast and you catch a fish. Do you see the strength? The Tuna won't escape!" As soon as Shi Tian finished speaking, Shi Chui quickly added.
Shi Tian and Oka didn't think much of it when they caught their own fish. It was clear that these two were just trying to save face, feeling that their carefully calculated depth wasn't as precise as Shi Tian's casual cast. They couldn't let go of their pride and continued to hold firm at forty meters.
Since they looked down on them, Shui Bi Zhang decided to inform them. He wanted to lead Man Cang Hao to teach Shi Tian a lesson and help him overcome his obsession with saving face!
"Alright! Thanks, Shi Shu! I'll treat you to a drink!" Shui Bi Zhang said politely, but he didn't believe a word of what Shi Chui had said.
His disbelief didn't mean others shared it. Soon, he saw Man Cang Hao's group starting to reel in their lines one by one. Those with Electric Reels quickly pulled in their lines from eighteen meters, while those without counted the colors on their lines as they brought them back up.
Then, the results came quickly; one by one, they began catching fish!
Shi Chui's fish came up, and it was quite a decent size—over ten pounds—though its appearance left much to be desired!
"Lao Shi is impressive! You caught a Tuna right off the bat! But this Tuna looks rather unique!" Shi Tian chuckled teasingly as he glanced at the fish that Shi Chui had netted.
It was a large Ghosthead Knife; its power was undeniable. However, this wasn't the target fish!
"What is this?" Looking at the Ghosthead Knife's sharp teeth, Shi Chui felt somewhat at a loss.
This fish was impressive—known as the big catfish by name and Ghosthead Knife colloquially; it felt good to handle! Using pliers to help Shi Chui remove the hook from the fish's mouth, Shi Tian smiled slightly and turned back to his rod, continuing to let out line until he reached fifty meters.
Although Shi Chui claimed not to understand catfish, he had heard of Ghosthead Knives before.
"So this is a Ghosthead Knife! The name suits it well!"
However, after glancing at Man Cang Hao's two Old Bosses who were reeling in their lines, Shi Chui felt like they had been set up!
Since it was a Ghosthead Knife, it didn't qualify for entry into the live well! Let it bounce around on deck for now! He baited his hook and cast again.
After checking the numbers on Shi Tian's Electric Reel, this time it seemed more honest; he followed suit and let out line until he reached fifty meters.
An hour later, there was finally some action on Mini Air Force's side.
As the rod bent and lifted, Wang Gou was the first to catch a fish at fifty-five meters.
At fifty-five meters, Ghosthead Knives wouldn't swim down to that depth; Niu Gang Mackerels rarely ventured there either. There weren't many surface-dwelling fish at this depth.
In the midst of fishing, several people had gained confidence, and the frequency of catching fish on the rod had noticeably increased. The banquet had officially begun.
When the fish were biting well, it was common for multiple people on the boat to catch fish within just a few minutes. However, once the fish moved on, it became a waiting game. Not only were the big fish elusive, but even small ones were hard to come by.
As the feast commenced, one after another began to reel in their catches, and Shi Tian finally made his first catch of the day.
"Everyone, at fifty-five meters across from us, several have already hooked fish. Though they haven't been brought up yet, it's highly likely they are Tuna!" Upon receiving Shi Tian's notification, Shui Bi Zhang quickly informed the few Old Bosses who were still gripping their Ghosthead Knives tightly.
Since they had caught Ghosthead Knives at around ten meters, these Old Bosses had truly let themselves go. Who would still be fishing for Tuna when they had Ghosthead Knives? They were powerful and quick, often leaping out of the water to perform acrobatic flips—what a thrill!
The best part was that the chances of catching Ghosthead Knives were low; they didn't just slap their thighs in frustration! This was certainly much better than Tuna! "In a bit, we’ll fish at fifty-five meters! Let’s finish with the Ghosthead Knives first!"
After casually responding, the Old Bosses continued to study their Ghosthead Knives, while only Shui Bi Zhang and Liu Zong lowered their lines to fifty-five meters to challenge Tuna once more.
While Shi Tian was enjoying himself at sea, the old men in Sanya weren't as carefree. The fish in their pond would soon be ready; after working hard for so long, they needed to keep a close eye on things in these final days—no room for mistakes!
To manage this pond of fish effectively, they had divided tasks meticulously: each person would take a six-hour shift for a total of fourteen hours a day without any slack.
The day before, they had sent a few samples away to Tongling for testing. The results were promising; there was a noticeable attraction effect on Yangtze River Dolphins. The Yangtze River Dolphin and White-Finned Dolphin could be considered relatives. The bait prepared specifically for White-Finned Dolphins also piqued the interest of Yangtze River Dolphins; one could imagine that White-Finned Dolphins would be even more intrigued.
Unfortunately, the few Xiao Yu brought to Huanggang didn’t yield any results; they couldn’t draw out any stars. It was understandable—if it were that easy to lure out White-Finned Dolphins, they wouldn’t be so rare.
After feeding the fish in the pond, Old Kong and Yi Laotou turned towards Shi Tian's yard. Shi Tian and Shi Chui had gone sea fishing while Yun Wan'er took Kang Ziyu out to play in the snow. The fish in Small Artificial Lake still needed feeding; this task fell upon the old men.
It was quite clever of Kang Ziyu to think of having these old men help with feeding the fish. Surprisingly, they took their duties seriously and reported for duty bright and early.
"Old Yi," Old Kong squinted his eyes mischievously and asked, "Do you think we can scoop these fish back into the pond? If we throw down some feed..."
These fish had all been caught by Shi Tian and Kang Ziyu from the pond; now that no one was around, scooping them back should pose no problem!
Xiao Tian, didn't you say you were going to check? Has the result come out yet? If it hasn't, it's better not to catch those fish for now!
