What is a Smart Rod? With the word "smart" in it, isn't it just another electronic product? Does this Rod even need to be charged?
This is a rod that can record fishing data, along with features for fishing spots and catches. As they descended the mountain, Shi Tianyi explained the functions of the Smart Rod to Kong Yunfei.
Kong Yunfei had quite a broad knowledge base. From discussing its functions to interactions and some conceptual ideas, he left Shi Tianyi dumbfounded during the ten-minute walk.
With interactive features, the Smart Rod must require a server! Where is your server set up? It wouldn't be a rented cloud server, would it? As they approached home, Kong Yunfei casually asked.
With so many functions on the rod, there’s bound to be a data security issue. The reason Kong Yunfei inquired about the server was that he was worried Shi Tianyi might have set it up overseas.
The server was located in the Fishing Tackle Shop building. Since the Smart Rod hadn’t started selling yet, a single blade server would suffice for the time being. Once there were more users, they could easily find a place to build a server room and install the server there.
Having the server in Anyou Town was just temporary; while the rod didn’t require internet access, the server certainly did. With civilian-grade internet cables, it could easily get cut one day, and that would be chaotic.
You should just get me a regular rod! I’m afraid someone might steal your server one day! Upon hearing that Shi Tianyi had placed the server in the Fishing Tackle Shop building, Kong Yunfei felt a wave of frustration. Who would dare use the Smart Rod in such an environment?
I’ll build a server room right in the villa area! The villa area has dedicated lines; I can just drag a fiber optic cable over! After being mercilessly mocked by Kong Yunfei, Shi Tianyi felt somewhat embarrassed.

Shi Tianyi sighed, You can take your time building it! I definitely won’t use your Smart Rod in the short term!

Xiao Fei was brought from Beijing by Kang Ziyu; she must have been placed next to him by either Hu Shuyi or Kong Yunfei. With her capabilities, managing a flower café seemed like such a waste.

Once the safe was locked, Kang Ziyu felt a bit proud; Cha Dong Plan had taken another step forward.
After securing the property documents, they both came downstairs where several people were already drinking.
Seeing them come down, Air Force and Lu Ya let out a sigh of relief; finally free from pouring drinks for them.

"No problem, leave it to me and Xiao Yu. We'll make sure you drink well tonight!" With a bottle in hand, Shi Tian made a round around the table, filling everyone's glasses.
Since there were no outsiders at home, there were no strict rules. "You two sit down and pour your own drinks if you want to drink!" After saying this, Old Kong stood up, placed a few bottles on the table, and continued drinking.
At the table filled with fishermen, the conversation revolved around fishing. Before long, Yun Wan'er and Hu Shuyi were drawn away to Kang Ziyu's courtyard.
"There’s a type of fish in Ya'an that has a bone in its head, just like a sword. It's really delicious!" After downing a glass, several old men began boasting about their fishing experiences, making Air Force and the others feel a bit tempted.
"Master, let's just talk about this here and not mention it outside! That’s Ya Fish; it's protected!" Shi Tian quickly reminded them as he listened to Yi Laotou's bragging.
"Ya Fish is delicious; it’s practically extinct now. Fortunately, it's being farmed on a large scale now, so at least the species won't disappear," Yi Laotou mused.
"Is that so? No wonder it's so tasty! But all good things are on the protection list now!" He continued reminiscing with his head tilted back.
"Listen to your master bragging! We eat farmed ones!" Old Wen lit a cigarette and took a puff. "I heard from Xiao Fei that you got a Smart Rod?"
Kong Yunfei was wary of the Smart Rod, but Old Wen and the others were not intimidated by it.
"Yeah! It hasn't gone on sale yet! I told them to start selling tomorrow!" Shi Tian replied as he took out his phone and walked over to show the old men. "This is my catch from this afternoon! What do you think?"
He opened the Catch List app, which recorded time, location, weather, fish species, size, wildness level, bite frequency, bait type, flavor profile, and more.
"This information can be shared; there’s also plenty that can’t be shared—like the force exerted on different parts of the rod during the entire fishing process, dynamic simulation graphs, and the current status of hooks and lines," he explained.
"Does your rod have a computer in it? Is it really that professional? So it’s going on sale tomorrow? I want to get one too!" Old Wen casually remarked as he leaned closer to look at Shi Tian's phone.
Seeing his expression, Shi Tian guessed he was already thinking of new ways to use it. However, with the Smart Rod coming out, there would definitely be many more ways to play with it; Shi Tian had already thought of several himself.
"By the way, Ye Ge, I want to find a place to set up a server room. Do you have any recommendations? It doesn’t need to be big—just around ten square meters."
"This rod needs server support; I need to find a place for the server since it's still hanging in my shop!"
