He got up and headed to Aunt Zhang's shop, handing the Feasibility Report directly to her before turning on his heel and sprinting away, dashing towards the food street.
What was Uncle Zhang in such a hurry for? He needed to grab a couple of rods! Just as he stepped out with the Rod in hand, he saw Old Zhang rushing out of the shop, prompting Shi Tian to wave him over quickly.
Old Zhang glanced at Shi Tian, squinting slightly before making his way over. If Er Lao Hu went on a rampage, he would just say it was Shi Tian's idea, letting Shi Tian share the blame!
Shi Tian had tricked him once before; this time, if he turned the tables, they would be even!
Watching Shi Tian cast his line, Old Zhang stood beside him and offered a cigarette, occasionally glancing back at the shop to see when Er Lao Hu would strike.
With one cast down, tightening the line, Shi Tian turned to Old Zhang with a challenge: "Uncle Zhang, such nice weather—aren't you going to cast a couple of lines?"
Seeing Old Zhang go from being stuck to getting unstuck, Shi Tian felt a twinge of regret. They had opened two shops already; the ones on the food street were fully funded by them. After giving Yi Laotou a ten percent cut, they were already starting to turn a profit in just a few days. Money was coming in fast, and they hadn’t even begun their shopping spree yet!
He needed to get a Smart Rod set up, along with a Fishing Box and Yu Hu sunshade—Old Zhang hadn’t bought any of those accessories yet! It would be such a shame to miss out now!
The Float bobbed and then jerked; it was empty! It seemed fishing required full attention!
This rod was pulled too early; being so alert meant it wasn’t a Sea Bass. Taking a drag from his cigarette, Old Zhang fixed his gaze on Shi Tian’s Float and spoke up.
"Uncle Zhang, it's such a pity you've given up fishing. It's only been a few months, and you already have the aura of a master!"
"I can’t quit; I’ve already handed over the Feasibility Report to Aunt Zhang. She won’t let me stop fishing!" he replied confidently, crossing his arms behind his back as he seemed to grow taller.
"The Feasibility Report? You gave it to Aunt Zhang? What did she say?" After scanning Old Zhang from head to toe and finding no missing parts or injuries, Shi Tian realized that Old Zhang’s standing was quite respectable—perhaps not as low as he had imagined!
"I just submitted it and then you called me over!" Old Zhang casually remarked, startling Shi Tian so much that he nearly dropped his Rod.
"You just submitted it? What do you want from me? Trying to use me as a shield? I can’t take that kind of heat!"
"Uncle Zhang, I just remembered—I left the gas on at home! I need to hurry back!" With that, Shi Tian reeled in his line, eager to distance himself from this troublesome situation before it ignited into chaos!
He hooked a fish—it was big! The drag was squealing under pressure; this fish couldn’t have picked a worse time to bite!
"Sister Lang! I’ve hooked a big one—help me tire it out!" He called out towards the Fishing Tackle Shop. Whether it was Shui Bi Zhang or Sun Lang—even if it was the Unreliable Duo—anyone who could come help would do!
He couldn’t let Old Zhang take hold of this Rod; that would only add fuel to the fire and ruin family ties!
Calling for Sun Lang—friends before money—he decided it was best to slip away while the flames hadn’t yet ignited!
"Wow! This fish is huge!" Shi Tianyi shouted as Shui Bi Zhang and Sun Lang came out one after the other.
Seeing that Shi Tian had hooked a big fish, Shui Bi Zhang immediately ran over. "Shui Ge, help me handle the fish for a moment! I have something urgent to attend to!"
From across the street, just as Shui Bi Zhang was about to come over and take over the rod, Aunt Zhang came charging in with a rolling pin over a foot long in her hand!
Oh no, I'm too late! That scoundrel Old Zhang must have done this on purpose, timing it just right to set me up!
"Old Zhang, you wanted a massage, right? Today I'll personally give you one and help loosen your muscles!"
Aunt Zhang rushed over with the rolling pin, and Old Zhang quickly dodged behind Shi Tian. Shui Bi Zhang was so stunned that he stopped dead in the middle of the street, even considering running back to grab a small stool from the shop!
"Put that down! This report was written by Shi Tian. If you think there's something unreasonable about it, we can discuss it!" With a smirk, Old Zhang revealed his trump card, reducing the potential damage by fifty percent!
As soon as Old Zhang's words left his mouth, Shi Tian felt like thousands of mythical beasts were trampling over his heart. He knew Old Zhang had ill intentions; the first thing he did when war broke out was sacrifice his teammate. Is this how you play?
"What report? Stop playing dumb! We need to stabilize the situation first and break Aunt Zhang's momentum. Think of a countermeasure!"
"Stop pretending! The fishing prohibition experiment report! Are you really going to say I didn't teach you how to write it?" Seeing Shi Tian trying to shift the blame, Old Zhang immediately emphasized his point.
"What fishing prohibition experiment report? If you've decided to stop fishing, just lock up the rod; what’s there to write a report about?"
"I thought so! Yesterday you came asking me how to write an experiment report; turns out you wanted to stop fishing! You shouldn’t be writing an experiment report for that; it should be a guarantee letter instead. You chose the wrong format!"
Old Zhang tossed the blame back at him, and he quickly retaliated. He couldn't let the blame stick to him; whatever happened should be between those two!
Aunt Zhang was somewhat dumbfounded by now. From what Shi Tian said, it seemed that he had taught Old Zhang how to write the report, and as for its content, that was definitely Old Zhang's own thoughts—there was no doubt about it!
