He made a phone call to the old man in front of a few people. Since they wanted to perform surgery here, he might as well give them a head start, preventing those old fellows from constantly scheming against him. After hanging up, he glanced out the window and saw that Old Zhang and his wife had left; he could finally go fishing again.
He had originally planned to take a trip to Liudao Bay in the morning since there was a big catch at Shi Ban yesterday. However, due to some trouble at the shop, he couldn’t leave and had to settle for playing around outside the store.
Watching two trucks slowly pull away with containers, Shi Tian stretched lazily, hoping that these hooks would prove their worth. It didn’t matter whether they earned dollars or not; first, they needed to earn Old American's points!
He laid out two servers and a dozen export version rod samples in front of Shi Ye, which resulted in a transfer of three million from Shi Ye. This money was applied for by the old man on his behalf.
"Brother Ye, are those hooks going by sea or air?" Putting away his phone, Shi Tian turned to Shi Ye, who was busy loading servers into the car.
"Why the rush? Air freight will get them there within ten days. After that, they’ll be unpacked and distributed across various states."
However, opening up a market wasn’t easy. One box would be sent as a sample to a fishing tackle shop over there for them to give to customers for trial use; only one box could be sold! Shi Ye wasn’t concerned about the hooks right now; he needed to hurry and deliver the servers to the old man since someone was waiting over there.
Air freight doesn’t just account for flight time; there’s also customs clearance and other processes involved. Ten days is considered normal. It seemed that Shi Ye would also need to transfer these hooks abroad, which would add more time. As long as they could ensure delivery within ten days, Shi Tian was quite satisfied.
"Brother Ye, why not treat both boxes as samples? I’ll send another two boxes over later. I won’t take this three million; it can cover shipping and promotion costs."
Shipping two containers by air isn’t cheap; it costs about three to four dollars per pound—just like sending fresh goods via Shunfeng. If they had to transfer them abroad again, the costs would increase further; shipping for these two containers would easily exceed five or six hundred thousand.
"You should talk to the old man about this; he has connections and will definitely be willing to help you sell!" Turning back to Shi Tian, Shi Ye added, "To get the servers, I can help you ship two boxes of hooks over there for Bai Tou Niao; I can tolerate that much, but do you really think of me as a salesperson?"
The old man would surely be happy to help sell the hooks. By using hooks to establish a sales network in advance, once the rods were mass-produced, they could directly promote through that network without appearing too abrupt.
"Can the old man handle this? You’re not trying to trick me, are you?" Upon hearing that several old men would help sell hooks, Shi Tian shook his head decisively; it sounded too unreliable!
"Better get some sleep! I’ll arrange things for you tomorrow!" Dragging Shi Tian into the car, Shi Ye stepped on the gas and drove off after dropping him off at home before turning back to find the old man.
While Shi Tian was still catching up on sleep, the servers had already taken flight across mountains and rivers and settled down in Xi'an.
Kang Ziyu’s fish tank had arrived; after being sun-dried for several days, it was time for Shi Tian to fulfill his promise and take her to Baihu Jiao to fish for clownfish.
The area around Baihu Jiao’s White Tiger Ridge hadn’t been developed yet; it was all forest with only an abandoned century-old gun emplacement there. Even fishermen rarely ventured into that area.
Three miles north of Baihu Jiao was Sun Bay, where two villa districts were developed close to Yalong Bay. It was still some distance from Baihu Jiao and wouldn’t significantly impact its ecology.
The west side was similarly undeveloped; it took four miles west to reach the old man's secret base. Beyond that were villa districts—essentially a glassy sea right at their doorstep.
"Are we fishing for Clownfish?!" Kang Ziyu asked excitedly, waving her small Raft Rod at Shi Tian as she settled into the passenger seat.
Fishing for Clownfish is a bit tricky since they are a type of small Sparidae. First, we need to go snorkeling to find them. So, let's quickly change into some sexy swimsuits to attract the Clownfish! Shi Tian smiled as she parked in front of Kang Ziyu's house.
"Really?" Kang Ziyu looked at Shi Tian suspiciously, feeling like she might be getting tricked.
"Of course it's true! When have I ever lied to you? Come on! If we wait too long, they'll be off duty!" Shi Tian urged, pushing Kang Ziyu to hurry and change into her swimsuit while rubbing her hands together, thinking about how to swim together with Kang Ziyu.
After changing into their swimsuits and wrapping themselves in towels, they hopped into the car. With a press of the gas pedal, they sped toward the Small Pier at the hotel. The Mini Air Force set sail, and after about ten minutes, they anchored near Baihu Jiao.
"We're here! There are Clownfish around this area. I caught one here last time!" Shi Tian said as she stood at the stern, pointing toward the sea after changing into her swim trunks.
Fishing isn't the main goal; snorkeling is! With her diving mask on and Artificial Gills in her mouth, Shi Tian slowly entered the water, waiting for Kang Ziyu to join her.
