As soon as Shi Tian finished speaking, Old Kong burst into laughter, looking at Old Wen's dark face, nearly splitting his sides with amusement.
"Show off all you want, acting like you know everything, but my Great-Grandson just slapped you in the face!"
Old Wen shot a glare at the tail-wagging Old Kong, feeling somewhat unconvinced. "Quantum can't be used for communication, but surely Photons and Neutrinos can! Don't tell me they can't communicate either!"
Old Wen was getting heated, and Shi Tian shrank his neck in fear. Had his words really provoked Old Wen?
"Of course Photons and Neutrinos can be used for communication! That's not even a question! The optical fibers we use at home are based on Photon communication. As for Neutrinos, being particles, they should definitely work for communication. The country has been researching them for nearly sixty years now! Haven't they produced any results?"
Whether there were results or not, Shi Tian wasn't sure. Even if there were, they would be top-secret information.
If both old men were still in their positions, perhaps they could dig up some news. But now that they had both retired, even with their status, it wouldn't be easy to obtain such high-level information.
"Neutrinos can also be used for communication? I’ve never heard of that!" Old Kong immediately chimed in upon hearing Shi Tian's statement.
"That's for sure! Neutrinos are leptons, without electrons, and not constrained by strong interactions. A million Earths lined up wouldn't stop them; they can definitely be used for communication!"
Feeling a bit smug after boasting, Shi Tian suddenly realized this was more complicated than he thought. These two old men seemed to be playing a game with their own words! How much free time did they have to study Quantum Photons and Neutrinos? Logically speaking, they should be studying historical texts instead!
"Neutrinos might be able to communicate! I'm not an expert in this field, so I can't say for sure! But I do know that Photons can be used for communication; we use optical fibers every day. If I get bored, I could even cut the line and use it for lighting!"
Ignoring Shi Tian's interjection, Old Kong exchanged a knowing smile with Old Wen. This kid actually knew quite a bit.
"What’s wrong? Is your light broken? You’re using optical fibers for lighting? Should I find someone to fix it for you?" Old Kong teased as he leaned back in his chair.
"I’m currently enjoying the mountain view from the city tower while listening to the chaos outside the city. The fluttering flags are actually soldiers sent by Sima." A verse of the Empty City Stratagem flowed from Old Kong's lips, igniting Shi Tian's anger.
"Old man, I spoke with Sun Lang about opening a branch in the Su Hang area. Once that store is up and running, I'll treat you all to some Large Yellow Croaker!" Turning onto An You Road, Shi Tian glanced at the two old men who had almost come to blows earlier but were now peacefully coexisting.
Opening a store in the Su Hang area was part of the development plan for the Fishing Tackle Shop. Once that store was established, Shi Tian also planned to open one in Shandong since it was the largest fishing province in the country.
He also wanted to set up a shop in Guangdong eventually; however, he didn't have enough energy right now. Whenever he felt like visiting Guangdong again, he could always start then. If he could successfully establish these three stores and perhaps another three in Hunan and Jiangxi, Xingpai Fishing Gear would gain significant recognition.
As long as Xingpai Fishing Gear's reputation spread nationwide, physical stores would become less crucial; focusing on improving the online store would suffice.
"Sounds good! Have you chosen a location yet? We'll celebrate when you open! By then, make sure you have a boat ready so we can catch Large Yellow Croaker!" Old Kong casually remarked as he paused his rendition of the Empty City Stratagem.
"It should be around the Qiantang River near Hai Ning! If there's a suitable spot there, we could build a Small Pier that allows direct access from Qiantang River to reach Zhoushan Archipelago. The fish there are far more plentiful than in Sanya."
When discussing opening a store in Hangzhou with the three old men, this was the most important aspect.
Building a dock on Qiantang River isn't easy; even if it's just a Small Pier, getting all the necessary permits is quite challenging.
If these three old men could put in a good word for him, it would save him a lot of trouble. By then, Sun Lang could take care of the materials and with some effort within a month they might construct a Small Pier suitable for Mini Air Force docking.
Your filial piety is a bit hard to digest! We haven't even caught the fish yet, and you've already presented us with such a big problem!
