Old Lu returned to Beijing from Sanya, and after a meal, Shi Chui's trip to the capital came to an end. Lu Ying Er dragged Yun Wan'er to stay in Beijing for a few days, while Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er had traveled thousands of kilometers for her matters. He wanted to play the gracious host in the capital. 0

With someone finally keeping Yun Wan'er occupied, Shi Chui naturally seized the opportunity. He found an excuse and left Beijing overnight, already back in his hometown of Shandong before dawn. 0

After ordering takeout and catching up on sleep, he woke up in the afternoon, ready to meet some old friends and show off his progress. 0

Feeling well-fed and rested, he looked up to find that it was already dark outside. Trouble brewed; he had overslept! 0

Should he go back to sleep? No, that wouldn't work. It was still a bit chilly in Shandong this season, and night fishing would surely yield nothing! 0

What to do? Sleep was out of the question; he needed to arrange for tomorrow's fishing buddy! 0

"Old Li, I'm back in Shandong! Let's go out for drinks!" He checked the time—it was nearly nine o'clock. He had missed out on so many fish after sleeping so long! 0

He decided against going too far and opted for a nearby spot in the same neighborhood; that should be easy enough! 0

"What? Your car broke down? Where are you?" After hearing Old Li's jumbled excuses over the phone, Shi Chui couldn't help but chuckle—this was perfect! 0

Once he hung up, Old Li quickly threw on some clothes and turned to his wife, who was watching TV beside him. "I need to step out. The client I was keeping an eye on broke down on the road; I have to go pick him up." 0

He dared not mention Shi Chui's name in front of his wife; just saying "Shi" would mean he wouldn't be allowed out today. 0

After spending some time in Sanya, Old Li's wife had loosened her grip on him. At least it wasn't as strict as before. 0

"Your car broke down and you’re not towing it? What are you doing?" she complained. But for a few extra bucks, he ultimately compromised: "Where did your car break down? Is it far?" 0

Not too far, actually—just at a highway service area. He could pick Old Li up at the exit and get him off the highway. However, he'd need three bucks transferred over because his car was out of gas. 0

After changing clothes and grabbing his keys, Old Li silently thanked Shi Chui; going out for drinks while making a little extra cash was a rare find. 0

"Drive carefully; I'll transfer you the money," Madam Li said as she hurriedly walked him to the door. 0

Since Shi Chui went to Sanya, she had been much more at ease; at least her husband returned home now without needing to wander around every river with a rolling pin in hand like before. 0

Once downstairs and into the car, Old Li drove out through the main entrance of their neighborhood, circled halfway around before turning back through the rear gate and stopping right below Shi Chui's building. 0

Going out for drinks late at night was inconvenient by car; it was much easier to take a taxi with Shi Chui. 0

"When did you get back?" As soon as they got out of the car, they walked toward the back entrance together. There were plenty of snack shops over there; they could easily find one, order a bottle of wine, and chat for half the day. 0

"I just got back today; that's why I called you!" 0

"Do you have time tomorrow? Want to go fishing together?" 0

He ordered a few dishes from the nearby restaurant and pulled out a bottle of Moutai from his pocket. Here, there was no corkage fee for drinking. This bottle of liquor was given to him by Old Lu; when he returned from the capital, Old Lu had helped him carry two boxes, enough to last him for several days. 0

But tomorrow, he wouldn’t have time—he still had to go to work! Shaking his head with a sigh, Lao Li reached out to take the Moutai from Shi Chui's hands. 0
